UKS Cybercrop

Hi it's Sharon here with my version of the beautiful house that Di designed for the UKS Monopoly cybercrop that was held at the weekend.
Di's house is absolutely fantastic and she very cleverly created a hidden mini concertina album inside it. I also love how she used the swing from the tree as a handle for accessing the album. Her one can be found here.

I decided that as I have so many lovely halloween papers that I would use them on this project. I can't stroke the papers forever and by using them on a home decor project they can be admired for a lot longer than in an album LOL

I filled the mini album with photographs taken when we went to Mickeys-Not-So-Scary-Halloween-Party in Florida last October and also from Hallowen at home.

Thanks for looking.

HEART HORSESHOE

Hello everyone, its Karen here!!!  I have been playing with the HEART HORSESHOE.  Now my first thought was that its for weddings but of course it isn't is it?  It could be used as a gift for a horselover, someone moving to a new home or as a decoration for your own home!  Anyway, I decided just to decorate it to hang somewhere.  Here is what it looks like before...

and here it is after.....I think you will need to click on the pic to enlarge it to see all the detail, sorry X

I covered the horseshoe & the hearts in a pinkish paper and then went over with Victorian Velevt DI.  I made more holes around the shoe & threaded organza ribbon through them.  I added paper roses on top.  For the hearts I glued some pearl edging round.  I then threaded on 2 long pieces of organza ribbon & threaded 2 pearl ribon sliders on where the rbbons cross.  I tied the top with a knot.  I would have threaded pearl beads onto the ends of the ribbon if I had had them haha.

I have chosen to make this girly but you really can do anything to decorate this piece!  Thank you for looking, HUGS XXX

for my first "solo" piece....

I've chosen to alter the frame...

As soon as I saw the Pieces that Di had sent me I had an idea for the frame....its highly influenced by the recent workshops that T!m Holtz did over here....

First I painted and embosed the stand...

The bare chipboard was painted with acryllic paint, embossed and then dry brushed over..

Then for the actual frame...

I have painted and dry brushed the base, then T!m's fragments and ideology pieces were used to decorate the edges, the middle was created using Wendy Veechi's stamps... more details are given on my blog.

The centre section could also be used for a scrap layout or a picture....

Hope you've enjoyed my first "solo" piece.

UKS Cybercrop

I had the great honour of being asked to design a class for last weekends UKS cybercrop.  As the theme was Monopoly I decided to use one of Tando's houses and convert it into a unique pull out mini book.

Here are some piccies for you:

I'll be able to put together a pdf for this soon with full instructions for making it....I'll link it on the shop site and let you know when I've done it.

Sharon, our fabulously talented design team member took this class and did the most amazing version of it....she'll be popping later on in the week to show you.

Large Gate

Hi, it's Kaz again and I've been playing with the larger of the 2 Gates that are available. Yet again I have put it through the mill as my first idea didn't work out how I'd like it! Originally, I gessoed it and use Distress Inks, but wasn't happy with it, so I painted it a couple of times with gesso to tone the colour down before I used Crackle Paint over it. I've inked DI into the cracks and edged all the pieces with ink before assembling it.

I've used the gate on an 8 x 8 inch canvas and have cut a small piece off the bottom of the uprights. To get the diagonal to fit, I then had to cut a piece off at an angle. I used a scalpel and found the chipboard very easy to trim and the edges stayed perfect, so go ahead and chop bits if you need to.

I also used the smaller of the 2 Cartoon Birds to sit on it and have used acrylic paint on her/him and doodled and added a gem for the eye.

The canvas is painted and stamped and the flowers are layers of die cut mulberry paper.

Two for one!

Hello, Joanne here. I do love to find ways to stretch my crafty supplies so before we move to today's main project, I have a little "bonus" ATC for you!

I'm loving all the embossed metal that's around at the moment but I've been determinedly holding out against buying more supplies and adding yet another aspect to my papercrafting addiction! I did have some sheet aluminium in my stash though and I own paper stumps for colouring so with the application of a little imagination, my chipboard cogs enabled me to make this! I just laid my metal over the shapes (I did one at a time), rubbed over with the paper stump to get the basic shape to show through and then embossed with the tip of the stump. Easy peasy and you get to use the shape itself for something else :o)

And the something else in this case was this wall clock...

I bought a cheapo clock (£3.99 in Poundstretcher) a while ago with the idea of tarting it up for my craft room. The cogs seemed perfect for the project! This is a 30cm clock so you can see that the cogs are a decent size. I've combined with a bit of stamping, a bit of sponging over a mask and quite a lot of embossing powder and acrylic paint in one way or another!

Here's a little detail shot for you. I love how the teeth of the smaller cogs fit perfectly together. If you were very clever, I reckon you could use them to make an actual turning mechanism on a card or maybe a page in a mini album.

All materials etc are listed {here} on my blog if anyone would like more detail.

Thanks for stopping by, happy crafting!

Home Heart Wall Hanging

Another lovely creation from SJ with her version of our home heart wall hanging.....fantastic work.
SJ has used Cosmo Cricket papers and added some buttons and ribbon.  The letters and engraved tree plaque have been watercoloured....and yes, the chippie can take watercolour.

Sew Simple Bag Charm

Last week Karen made a ~{canvas}~ using the large Sew Simple Set and I have had a play with the small set, turning them into a bag charm.

I painted everything with Pearl Acrylic Paint and then added a doodle border around them. I stuck some fabric onto the dress form and frayed the edges. I added a bit of paint onto the handle of the scissors and tied some thread around the cotton reel before adding Glossy Accents. As I was making a bag charm and didn't want to start punching holes in the sewing machine, I covered a card circle in the same fabric and stuck the machine onto that.

I've used eyelets, beads, chain and ribbon to decorate and attach them onto a split ring, then hung it onto my sewing tote.
