Travel Set Small

I've made this holiday journal using the Travel Set Small and 2 of the leftover pages from a 6 x 6 Ring Binder for my niece for the first family holiday with their puppy, Jessie.

The pages have simply been covered in paper with the edges sanded and a bit of doodling.

I've coloured the chipboard with acrylic paints. The car has glossy accented wheels and the boat has 3D texture paste for the sea. I've used the reverse of the ticket to add the title and the other ticket for a tag and used rub-on lettering.

Inside there is a pocket for maps and I've started the first page ready for Lucy to start her lists and journalling. As I've used book rings, extra pages can be added if needed.

This could easily be made using a complete Ring Binder.

Introducing Irit.......

We are very lucky to have Irit as a guest designer here on Tando Creative.  You are going to love the work of this very talented artist.

Hi !! I am IRIT and I am from sunny ISRAEL.
I am very glad to be a part of this great blog DT and hope to do my best and make everyone at home proud of me as I am the only Israeli papercrafter who made into DT of any foreign blog so far.
In my " real life" I am a dentist and for last 3 years I do it as a part time job because I need some extra time to run my Israeli online scrap shop and I have a lot of fun doing something else after 25 years of teeth.
I am married for 27 years to retired high police officer and the full time family cook these days.
I am a mom to 4 grown ups : 2 sons and twin daughters and the empty nest is probably the main reason for my obsession for crafting - finally I have some time for myself
My oldest son is an army officer and recently married, a second one is " a world traveler" - for last 3 years after his army service he is out of Israel for at least 9 months a year. This year he lives in Spain and works there.
My twins live in USA for 2.5 years after their army service (we all do it here for 2 or 3 years) after they traveled all over the world ,but in 2 weeks they'll be home for college.
I need to say that I am totally addicted to crafting since I was a little girl.
For many years it was polymer clay and jewelry making, but after I've seen scrapbook LO for the first time in my life ( only 5 years ago during my visit to USA) I understood finally that I am in love with paper .
Today I mostly scrap and do altered art and less a cardmaker, but I love it all and hope to show you all my sides here.
And finally my other addiction is..... folk dancing!!
So if I am not in my crafting room- I am probably dancing.
If you want to see a bit of my work you can visit my blog- and there is a translator on it- so see you there too
HAVE A GREAT DAY!! XOXO!

Ink Pad Storage

Another in our new storage range that will be available through our retail site.  If you're interested in these before the site goes online then please contact me.

We will also be releasing a revolving ink pad storage solution soon that will hold 36 inks....what this space.

The size of this unit is 370mm wide x 270mm tall x 85mm deep and it will hold 18 ink pads (well actually 24 if you use the spaces top and bottom of the shelving inner section.

Again it just slots together, all you need to glue it the white lined board to the back although I've used tacks for mine.  The outer part of the unit is cut from MDF whilst the inner shelving section is cut from 2250 micron greyboard.

OCTAGONAL FRAME

Hi, its Karen here with a little prettiness to offer you!  This time I have been playing with the lovely little octagonal frame.  It has a lovely wiggly inner edge and come with its own flat packed stand which has a couple of gorgeous hearts on the ends!

Firstly I painted the whole lot with gesso and then some periwinkle acrylic paint.  I saw a lovely technique in this months Craft Stamper that I wanted to have a go at so that came next!  Its to make a crackle apearance just using PVA and paint...simples haha! I have awful trouble with crackle accents and the like so am delighted with this result...

In the centre I used a favourite stamp of Ophelia and then just added a bouquet & ribbon.  Thanks for looking today. HUGS XXX

Birdcage...

Birdcages and Bird themes are "in" at the moment.

Tando Creative have two different sized Birdcages available.

This is what I've created with the larger cage:-

The bare grey board was painted with acryllic paint, when dry was then dry brushed and the the edges had inka gold applied.

The bird was a die cut and the background is stamped onto acetate before being painted.

Several stamped images provided the embellishments along with some beaded trim. The chain was added so that it could be hung up in a window.

Square clipped frame.....

I'm able to show this now as a really dear friend of mine has received it so I don't need to keep it hush hush anymore.

I have used one of our Square Clipped Frames and also a couple of elements from our small Kitchen set.

I've used one of my fave techniques using texture paste and stamping, painting the frame with black acrylic and using some fabulous Viva Decor metallic silver paint.

The phrase has been manipulated in Word and printed onto some patterned paper.  I then added the chefs hat, covered in glossy accents and painted and used GA on the knife and fork.

Thanks for stopping by.

Here's another project using the Heart Wreath, this time made by ~{Claire}~. She really has gone into detail with it; every time I look at it I see something else.

It really does look amazing placed on a card.

Thanks for sharing this with us Claire.

COOKING UP A STORM?

Well not exactly but I have been working with some VERY CUTE cooking chippie hehe!  They come in small or large versions...I used the small ones.  I just love the teensy fork...the prongs are perfectly cut and that kettle is adorable isn't it?

For my first project I covered a cookery book for my daughter.  You know...the ones that you write your own recipes in....she is getting into cooking at last haha!  I gesso'd the pieces first then coloured the handles to match the paper (mmm...looks pink in the photo doesn't it, but it really does match ) and painted the blades etc with a silver krylon pen.  The chefs hat has been painted white & glossy accented, then glued onto my daughters head.  The little plate is an oriental stamp I have.  I covered the timer with matching paper and glued it onto some ribbon to make a bookmark for the book.  The whole idea was to make it like a place setting...I think it works.

I had some pieces left and used them to make a set of ATC's....yes, the pieces are that dinky :D  I love the kettle & immediatly thought of 'Polly put the kettle on'.

For the other ATC's I have used images from a book which I thought were appropriate for the chippie piece.  Loving that saucepan!!!

These pieces were so much fun to work with and would be perfect for anyone who loves to cook!  Thank you for looking, HUGS XXX

*NEW* Ribbon Storage

This is the first of a new range of storage solutions from Tando Creative Ltd that will grace the shelves of our retail store, however, as the shop won't be open for a little while yet, these ribbon storage units are available now, simply email me and I will give you all the details.
They are supplied flat packed but most of the components slot together.  The outer frame is cut from 6mm thick MDF whilst the inner slotted pieces are cut from 2250micron chipboard.  It also comes with 10 H shaped ribbon winders, more are available separately.

They come undecorated and you will see that the laser cut edges of the MDF have turned black.  This is normal and the black residue doesn't come off in your hands.  The edges can be painted over but look equally attractive left dark.

Decorate it as much as you like and fill it with your favourite ribbons.....of course, the ribbons shown are not included.

Email me at Tando Creative if you'd like some more information.

May competition winner

I've done the draw for the "2" entries and this months winner is

LEANN

Can you contact me please, my lovely, with your address details, just email me at the Tando Creative address.

Well I've decided to stop the competitions for the time being, sadly there simply isn't enough interest.  I'll give them a break for the summer anyway as we all have so many other things to do during the the summer months.  If you'd like them reinstated in the autumn just drop me a line.

Many thanks to Daphne for your supportive comment last week and I'm sorry we've had to make this decision for now.
