I had a fabulous day on Saturday over at The Craft Barn. 7 lovely ladies attended the class and lots of chat and laughter was enjoyed by all.
Rose has very kindly emailed me some pictures of her finished calendar, I think you'll agree that it's gorgeous. Here are some piccies and Rose has added some butterflies in the last picture.....they really finish it off a treat.
The perpetual calendars come in a kit that includes the pot, flowers, numbers, straws and bamboo sticks. You will just need to buy some florist foam to pop in the pot and use what you prefer for the days and months. I took along some dates that had been printed on the computer, Rose used a cutting machine for hers. You could also use stamps or just hand write them if you wanted to.
The kits will be released on general sale soon, as I did the workshop at the Craft Barn, they have a few available there to buy, just give them a call.
I'm aiming to get some new releases out during the beginning of May.....we have some really exciting ones coming up too ;o)

May Class at The Craft Barn
Here is a piccie of the project I will be doing for the May Class at the Craft Barn. I'm using the plaque and lettering from our Home Sweet Home plaque and our Village Scenelit.
It will make a lovely key holder....or anything else you wish to hang from it of course LOL.
If you want to book a place pop along to the class list HERE. I'll look forward to seeing you.

Using a part of printer tray for a card
As you all know I am deeply in love with Tando printers trays, and I try to use they one by one, not all 3 pieces together. So this time I used a square one as a part of my card and I just love the final result a lot.
I covered it with crackle Ranger paint (long- long drying time), then added some rub-ons inside the windows and then made some stamped and painted roses for the window corner. It's a kind of all occasions card you can give to any girl (sorry, boys, I am not a big masculine cardmaker, I need my pinks and flowers). I made the setiment over Tando scalloped rectangle and painted it a bit over the rub- on word.re
And a close up to the flowers too- you can see how great the crackle paints over Tando chipboards.

A little inking and Masking
Just a quick little share with you all today. Recently came into position of the Tando Creative set of Butterfly Masks. Used here as a stencil to ink through the created at soft background for this floral themed tag.
Just held in place by hand the ink tapped over with a brush. Clean them off under the tap. There are several sizes of mask each one designed to work with the Butterfly Chipboard shapes.

Pin Cushion Houses
Helloooo! I have been playing with fabric again :-D This time I used 3 of the little 3D Tando Houses and turned them into pin cushions! Such a lot of fun to do.
For all 3 I assembled the houses first (discard the roof pieces). I attached the doors, windows & any embroidery to the fabrics before I glued onto the bases. It was a little trickier to make the cushions for the rooves but I ended up making long sausage shapes and then just glueing them in the roofspaces. You can see that the one on the left was the 1st one as the others are a little neater hahaha! I just had to make a little needlecase to match as I had one house left! I cut it down and just covered with fabric, using felt for the 'pages'.
The very pretty fabric came from the lovely Sandy at the Craft Barn (do a search for the fabric if you can't find it). Here are the ~Tando Creative~ pieces I used...nekkid...
If you are going the The Craft Barns Extravaganza this year you can have a good look at these houses as they will be on display :-D
Thank you so much for taking a look today, HUGS, Karen xxx

Keep Calm and Carry On!
This phrase must go down in history as the saying for 2012! other things for 2012 are the Olympics and the Jubilee...
Loving the London elements by Tando - this telephone box is the smaller one of the two in the kit.
For instructions see my blog...xx

Birthday Box
I've had a play with the new 3D Birthday Box and it's fab to work with. It connects up brilliantly to make a sturdy box perfect to store your birthday cards for loved ones.
I covered mine with patterned papers and Bazzill card and inked the edges. The month's letters have been painted in black acrylic paint and covered with Glossy Accents. These letters are fused together to make it easier. The sheets for the months are provided and you have the option of downloading more if you want to. There is also a selection of sheets for addresses so everything is there for you to be organised with!
The 'BIRTHDAY' letters are separate so that you can arrange them how you want, but I went for the straight option this time! I've painted them and doodled around the edges before again using Glossy Accents.
You don't have to use it as a box for cards as it makes a lovely storage box. The only thing you'd need to be careful of is the strength of the glue you use on the bottom! Or you can do like I did and hold it underneath if you move it!

BOO!!!!!!!
Hello! I have an assortment of Tando leaves & bits & pieces and I have used them on this 4x4inch canvas.
I used the leaves mask for the background. Except for the mushrooms, which are just painted, I have used glossy accents & then dropped alcohol inks into it. I only used one colour for the leaves but I love the way it has come out all mottled. Behind the leaves is a scalloped frame, which is part of a set and very handy to have in your stash, as are the leaves!
Don't forget the New Challenge is up for April...the link is on our sidebar.
Thank you for taking a peep today, Hugs, Karen x

Inspired by Klimt
I made this pendant for a challenge to take inspiration from a modern (fairly abstract) painter and alter something. I've only altered a domino shape but I hope that counts!
The chipboard domino was triple embossed with UTEE and then coated with two colours of Perfect Pearls. I heated again and pressed my stamp into the soft coating.
Full details of colours, materials etc {here} on my blog if anyone would like them!

There is Music in the Air
It is a glorious spring here in GB this year, time to freshen up the colour pallet and bring some of those soft pretty pastels in. For this hanging the inner's from the Gothic Layered Arch Frame provided the bases. The bare board elements were given a single layer of white gesso, on the base the Music Score mask was used with soft green and blue ink lightly brushed over. The bases were then run through the big shot with a music score embossing folder after which the embossing was highlighted with further inks. Next holes were punched in them eyelets fitted and chain to link them. Distress glitter added and finally they were set aside while the toppers were prepared and glued on.
Those base's took quite a bashing but they look fantastic don't you think.
Lots of Tando elements used here

Happy Mother's day with an altered canvas
This small- 4*4'' canvas was altered with lots of Tando most perfect chipboards and I also used Tando mask (messed with it a bit, but I like the final result)
All pieces were inked, painted and heat embossed with lots of embossing powders and I added this sentiment over this wings shape as it was made as Mom's Day small gift.
Here are all Tando products used on this project:
