Hope , Love ,Life and Dreams in gold, copper and silver

Hello, my dear Tando friends. Finally I got some new chippies and here we go with new projects.
This project is made using a small square Printers tray and 3 bottles from the Grab bag of Bottles and Jars set. And as this week is all about Gold, Silvedr and Copper, I made it with all 3 colors using a lot of embossing powders over my chipboards.

I covered the frame with 3-4 metal embossing powders and used the same powders to stamp all backgrounds. Then I heat embossed 3 bottles and made stamped labels. All stamps are from Inspired By Stamping company I design for.
Some small embellishments were added and me altered piece was done. Hope you like it too.

Metallics - It's better Together

I'm really excited as this is my 1st scrapbook page for the Tando blog, this weeks theme is using metallic colours. I decided to use silver and some golden papers and sequin waste.  I used the Tando chipboard bird cage and birds  set which fitted perfectly with the sketch at Once Upon A Sketch, and the 2 birds go well with the theme of friendship.

I firstly coated my chipboard bird cage with white gesso, applying a thick and bump layer with my brush.  Next I sprinkled on some silver embossing powder in different areas whilst the gesso was wet.  Next I heated it all up with a heat gun to emboss the silver, but it also makes the gesso bubble a bit too and adds to the aged effect.  I cut my papers out to cover the birds and then went around the edge of each of the shapes with the gesso, and added a little pearl for their eyes.  The other Tando product you might spy is the Harlequin mask.  I added a little detail at either side of the picture by sponging some distress ink through it.

Rounds....

Rounds have been our focus for this weeks posting and this is my effort!

The base is the base of a circular frame which was coloured using distress stains and the tando masks, then using Joannes great technqiue showcased here I did three circles from the grab bag, mini butterflies and some tando cogs were also added.  The border is a die cut and the texture paste was pushed thro' another tando mask!! a very circular creation!

Round - altered CD - romantic steampunk

Hi, Caro here. Woo-hoo, that's my first post here on the tando blog and I'm so happy to be here.

As we have something round as blog theme this week I have created an altered cd with some chipboard cogs. I have colored them with Distress Stains then put clear crackle paint over them and put some more Distress Stains on them.

Someone said romantic & steampunk don't go together but as you can see they do!

In a roundabout way!

Some of the design team have been going round and round this week as we've chosen the theme of circles for our inspiration - lots of scope here!

I've used the fused circles of one of the jewellery shapes and married up with a theme that continues to be popular for a steampunk style pendant.

Complete list of supplies etc is in this post on my blog if anyone would like it.

Pop back later this week for more inspiration in the round from some of my talented design team buddies.

Thanks for stopping by!

Bling it Up!

Hi, it's Gez here delighted to be sharing my first creation with you for Tando. This weeks focus is all about the Bling!

I have decorated a couple of 3"x6" chipboard sheets and run them through a Bind-It-All machine to make them into notepad covers.. I don't know about you but I love blog hopping and finding new ideas and then never remember when or where I saw them so I thought this book would be handy to keep at the side of the computer!

I have also used some of the mini hearts and decorated them in Cosmic Shimmer Twinkles

Here are the products I used..

also,

Thank you for looking and leaving a comment if you get the chance,
Happy creating, Gez

Use your old products tutorial for the Bling week

This is a time for blings and glitters and everything shiny on Tando blog.
Irit is here today to show you my new card and I have a small tutorial for you too.
So here is my bling project: a card I made with microbeads over  this orange tacky tape and I used Tando chipboard shape , covered with paper, to stamp my focal image for this not so baby colors baby card.
And some close ups too

And if you want to know how I made the strips- here is a small tutorial I made for this technique

I made a vintage style BABY CARD using glue tape, micro beads and a lot of patience.
Supply list:
Cardstock- two tones of pink (American Crafts)
Stamps: Oh, Baby set - Inspired by Stamping
Ink: Clearsnap- dark purple
Scalloped chipboard - Tando Creative
Patterned paper- Glitz
Tacky 1/2'' tape
Micro beads in 3 colors
Flowers, rhinestones
And now to work!
1. Cover a piece of a cardstock with Tacky tape from the angle as shown.

2. Expose one piece of your tape each time and add one color of micro beads . Don't try to make it more then one strip a time, it comes messy and sticky. Continue with all strips  till they all are covered with beads.

3. Make a frame from a darker cardstock and glue it over the beaded piece with 3d glue.
4. Adhere the framed piece over a lighter cardstock.
5. Adhere a piece of patterned paper over the chipboard piece and stamp over it. Use clear embossing powder and your heat gun to heat emboss the image. Ink the edges with the same ink. Add a crystal and glue it over the frame.
6. Stamp a sentiment with the same ink over the same paper, make a flag, ink around and adhere with 3d foam glue.
7. Add small blings strip on the left side of the frame. Glue some flowers and enjoy your card.
And some more tips now:
You don't need to use micro beads with this technique. Glitter, flock and embossing powders with do the job as well over the tacky tape. If you use embossing powders, add one strip of a glue a time, as the heat will damage  the next one.

I made a card for this week's theme using one of the ~{Lace Effect Borders}~. I just trimmed it to size and painted it with acrylic paint before adding some jewels and doodling the edges.

Jean's beautiful Cuckoo Clock

Recently we released some new clock designs....the designs were completely inspired by a good friend of mine....Jean Hardy of Crafty Individuals.  All the clocks come with a mechanism and hands...just add a battery.

Prior to releasing them Jean decorated one of the Cuckoo Clocks that she used for a workshop at the recent Craft Barn Exravaganza.  I had the pleasure to be able to see this clock in real life and I can assure you...it is stunning.

Jean also designed a range of stamps that co-ordinate perfectly with all 3 of our new clocks....the links to them are CI-352, CI-353 and CI-354.

Anyhoo, here is the clock in all it's glory for you to see :o)

And now....time to meet the new members of our Design Team and to celebrate we have Blog Candy

I have to say we had so many amazing entries for our design team.  After managing to put together a shortlist of 10 we had the heart breaking task of having to pick the final successful applicants......heart breaking because we knew we had to let some people down!  We had originally asked for 2 new members but this was just impossible so, after much deliberation, we are finally ready to name our 4 new design team members.

And to celebrate.....if you leave a comment and become a follower (if you're not already) we'll draw a name from the comments at random on Thursday and I'll send you a little something ;o)

Sooo, drum roll please for....

From the UK:

Katherine Sutton:

My name is Katherine Sutton (or sutty to scrapbookers), I am a wife and Mum to two beautiful and energetic boys who are the main features of my scrapbook pages. I came across scrapbooking in 2006 when my mother-in-law gave me a kit, and enjoyed the combination of playing with paper and storing memories.

I delight in creating with paper, adding inks, paints, mists, layers, texture and trying out new techniques. My scrapbook style is constantly changing, though is fairly messy at the moment and I rarely complete a page or project without having inky hands at the end.

I love the dimension that chipboard adds to my projects and all the different things you can do with it so I am really looking forward to joining the Tando Design Team.

Geraldine Butterworth:

Hi, my name is Geraldine but I'm also known as Gez in the crafty world and beyond! I love all things crafty especially papercrafts and enjoy challenges and swaps and getting inky and messy! You can see my creations here at Dragonfly Dreams.. http://gezzybscraftybits.blogspot.co.uk/

I live in the north west of England in a rural Pennine town and enjoy hill walking with my 3 lovely children at the weekends. My other interests include photography, sketching and art journaling. I am looking forward to being part of a fantastic talented Design Team and combining my love of rubber stamps with Tando's unique range of chipboard designs.

From the USA:

Dana Tatar:

My name is Dana Tatar and I live just minutes away from the beautiful Gulf waters of Florida's coast in the United States. I am a stay-at-home mom to two daughters. I married my high school sweetheart in 2003 and have been happy ever since. I graduated college with a degree in Biochemistry and worked in that field for about 3 years before I gave birth to my first daughter and decided to stay home full time.

I have had many hobbies over the years, but scrapping is the one that really gives me satisfaction. I started scrapbooking to preserve memories after the birth of my first daughter. I love to mix products from different collections on my layouts and I frequently find inspiration in music, poetry and pop culture.

I love fussy cutting and flowers and both can be seen on the majority of my layouts. I would say that my dominant scrappy styles are clean and simple and pretty chic, but I do like to mix things up a bit, depending on the paper or photos I want to use. When I'm not scrapping, I enjoy cooking and baking, reading, listening to music and spending time outdoors with my family and basset hound. I'm thrilled to be a part of this talented team of artists!

Visit my blog at http://datatar.blogspot.com

From Austria:

Caro Brabenetz:

My name is Caro, I'm 34 years old and I live with my three children and my husband in Vienna (Austria). As I am a stay-at-home-mom I have much time to be creative and my kids get creative more and more too.

In the past I didn't believe that I could do anything creative. But as I discovered rubber stamping it was a revelation for me - I could create beautiful things without having to draw! A few months later I began to scrap too. Now I am incorporating stamps into my layouts more and more.

I love to create cards, layouts, minibooks, altered art, art journaling pages and of course ATCs. I have my own ATC challengeblog (of course with an awesome designteam) with additional forum where we have much fun.

I am so happy to be offered the chance to create for Tando Creative and I'm really looking forward to crafting with these wonderful chipboards!

If you want to take a look at my blog you're most welcome:

Animals, Birds & Bugs week!

Hello, its Karen here with the 1st of the Animals, Birds & Bugs!  I chose to work with the new Tando Mini's - butterflies to make a card.  Firstly though I used some modelling paste through part of the Garden Mask onto some card, then, when dry replaced the mask & added Brilliance ink to the paste.  Its a shame that you can't really see the gleam from the ink in the photo.....

The new mini's are brilliant for cards as they are a lot smaller and thinner than some of the other chippie and sooooo versatile.  Added bonus is that you get loads in a apck haha. I dabbed them with some distress ink and then roughly added Brilliance to the edges.  I was going to add gems and things but then decided that I quite liked the country feel of the card as it was.

Summer Colours card

I thought it would be a bit mean to make something grey and miserable which is the exact colours of our Great British summer, so I am hoping the warm colours of this card will encourage some sunshine.

I took a selection of flowers from  ~{Flower Grab Bags}~ and painted some and glued patterned paper onto the others. The painted flowers had a text stamp stamped onto them and the paper flowers had their edges filed. All have buttons for the centres.
For the greeting I painted ~{Block Flourish 1}~ in white and green and stamped on the block.

Summer colours Swing London

This week we  have been celebrating Summer Colour here at Tando Creative.   What with the Jubilee and the Olympics this feels very much like Great Briton's Summer.   Bright vibrant exciting summer colours inspired memories of the Swing Sixties for this canvas.

A mixture of colouring techniques went into the making.   The Tando Butterfly Masks was laid over and Embossing paste applied.   The Tando Chipboard has been coloured with ProMarkers, Sakura Glitter Gel Pens and Rub On's!

Completing the 1960's reminder, with Tando you are Buying British LOL.
