Changeling - Heart Flower

To finish off the week of using products in a different way to the obvious, I've made this card using hearts as petals of a flower and two arrows as the centre.

First off I ran the ~{Hearts}~ through an embossing folder to creative circles on the chipboard, then painted them with acrylic paint. Once that was dry, I tapped a Versamagic inkpad onto the dots and finally inked the edges.

The ~{Arrows}~ have been painted with acrylic paint and then I put a tiny amount of the darker paint onto my fingertip and patted the arrows to give a mottled effect.

I've layered them up with a flower onto a stamped card blank.

Changeling - Heart Decoration

Hello everyone, this weeks theme is to use a product in a different way to the way it was intended.  I used some of the segments of the lovely heart bowl to make a wall hanging for my mother-in-law.

I covered the chipboard hearts in gesso, then a layer of crackle paint and then some distress ink over the top to emphasise the cracks.  I backed each of the hearts with patterned paper and then went about decorating with washi tape, sequins, stickers and chevrons.  I also used some of the Tando bunting with  the harlequin mask on this and rubbed chalk ink through it to give the diamond pattern, I then cut this in half and added it to the top and bottom frames.  The last step was to attach ribbon to tie them all together and add a loop at the top.  It's a really fun project and gift for someone.

If you want to check out the winner from the blog hop please see the post below.

Easter Projects - Happy Easter Layout

Hi Tandoettes!  Dana here today sharing a layout for the Easter theme this week. Tando has some fabulous new Easter themed chipboard pieces! I used some Mini Rabbits and a bow from the Mini Easter Eggs set on this page.

There are several fun rabbit designs in the Mini Rabbit Set.  This leaping rabbit is my favorite.  I colored him with a simple coat of acrylic paint. I added another rabbit to the flower pattern printed in the lower left-hand corner of this page.

This little bow is from the Mini Easter Egg set. I also colored this piece with acrylic paint and topped that with a thin coat of Stickles.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Timeless wall deco : Lace and ribbons

Hello my dear crafty friends!
Irit is here and this time I made this altered wall deco with this Tando Creative trio of pieces and my last ink love. This technique is all about stamping over the bare chippies with black pigmented ink, heat embossing it with clear embossing powder and then colouring with just 3 Staze-on primary colours inks : red, blue and yellow. As those 3 colours blend to a rainbow colours we get this fancy bright look.
I added some lace on each piece as they already have holes and then arranged them over a piece of a trim. I hope you like the colours and the technique.

Remember that each Tando Creative  white covered piece can be painted this  way with and without stamping. If your piece is brown, use white paint or some gesso over it, but if you want a mute colours look you can paint over the brown chipboard too. Gives you  the same colours, but in a mute way.
See you next time with more Tando inspiration!

Ribbons 'N' Lace: Go Green!

Hi Tando fans!  Dana here today sharing a layout for the Ribbons and Lace theme this week. I had a lot of fun with this theme and decided to create my own lace-filled shamrock from Tando chipboard.

I started with a branch from the Leaf Branches with 3 Loose Leaves and some hearts from the Jewelery Heart Set. I trimmed the leaves from the branch set for use in my flower clusters and cut the stem down to a better size for my shamrock. I trimmed the small loops from the top of the hearts to make a clean edge. I colored the chipboard pieces with Lemon Zest and Cut Grass Dylusions Ink Spray and topped that with Tattered Angels Iridescent Gold Glimmer Mist and Blizzard Glimmer Glam Paint. I filled the cutouts in the hearts with green lace to finish.

Here is one of the leaves from the branch set.

I also added a key from the 5 Decorative Key Set.  I colored this piece with Tattered Angels Antique Brass Glimmer Mist and then covered it with a layer of Clear Rock Candy Distress Crackle Paint.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all you Mum's out there!

It's the final day of our Mum's week and I made a card for my lovely Mum using some Tando Minis. These are perfect for cards, although I did layer my card up quite a lot! Good job I can give it to her myself!

I have used the following chipboard products on this card:

~{Mini Leaves 2}~
~{Mini Butterflies}~
~{Mini Flowers}~ and
~{Mini Hearts}~

I have used patterned papers on the heart and painted the other minis with acrylic paint and then stamped a text stamp.

I've also used the ~{Heart Background Mask}~ to add a few hearts onto some of the papers.

Mums- Mum and Me

I had this shot from our holiday of my Mum and I - it's a really nice natural one so when the chance to scrap our Mum's came up this is what I thought of.  Unusually for me I had a go at a non-paper page and just used lots of stamping an distress inks to water colour the flowers, I wanted to add some green so the Tando leaf flourish was perfect for the job, I coloured it with green distress stain and then coloured in the groves with a brown pro-marker.

Arch wall deco: Paste week

Hello my dear crafty friends! Irit is here and this is my take for our paste week!

Today I am going to  show you my  Gothic Layered Arch filled with lot of lovely  things: stamped background, hand painted flowers and pasted outlines.
I covered the arch  edges with a thick paste coverage  using my fingers and then, when it was  dry , I added some blue watercolour over it to fit the overall colours of my altered piece.

So as you all can see, paste is not for masks use only, but for edge coverage too and each and every Tando frame or tray can be  pasted over the edges  and painted to get this unique , one and only look.
See you next time with more Tando inspiration!

Saturday, 2 March 2013

Hello, its all about PASTE over at Tando Creative this week. Could be any type of paste used in any way. I have chosen to push some through the Heart Mask onto one of Tandos lever arch folders. This one is very cute at only 5inches square!

I used DecoArt modelling paste which I coloured with a little DecoArt Metallics Acrylic. Can you see that I used another Tando mask behind it? The flower mask. As you can see this is to hold my little pages for the A-Z of Me challenge that a lot of people are having a go at this year.

For details of stockists please pop over *HERE*...there maybe one near you! Thank you for taking a look today. Please leave a comment if you have visited...I love to read them, HUGS from Karen x
