Summer fun..........

Hi Folks,

I was lucky enough to grow up in the coastal town of Looe in Cornwall and the majority of my school summer holidays were spent on local beaches! Happy memories of my Mum sunbathing while I played and swam to my hearts content. The fab picnics she used to make were always a bonus too!

Anyways, I chose to have a play with a mixed media board to see if I could epitomise my summers..........

Blue skies, golden sand, ice-creams and seagulls do it for me! I lost many an ice-cream to a greedy opportunist seagull too!!

Here is what I used along with some summer themed stamps from my stash.....

Summer - Starry Night Arch

Hi Tando fans! Dana here today sharing an arch I created for the Summer theme this week. One of my favorite Summer activities is star gazing. I used Vincent van Gogh's The Starry Night painting and lyrics from Don McClean's Vincent as my inspiration for this piece.

I painted an Arabian-Style Layered Arch Frame with a shimmery yellow paint. I then backed the arch with a felt damask specialty paper for a fun layer of texture. I painted stars from the Grab Bag of Stars first with a layer of white acrylic paint and then with a coat of Rock Candy Stickles. I finished the frame with dots made with a dimensional pearl pen and song lyrics that read:

"Look out on a summer's day with eyes that know the darkness in my soul."

You can find this chipboard and more in the Tando Creative Retail Store! We'd love to have you join the Summer Challenge! To be in with a chance of winning some great Tando goodies of your choice, please make a piece based on our weekly themes and link your project, not just your blog, using the inlinkz tool located at the top of the Tando Blog. Its SUMMERTIME!

Hi there!  We are celebrating 'Summer' this week and all things connected to it.  I hope that the sun is shining in your part of the world today?

Living in a very touristy area of England my thoughts went not to buckets & spades but to the variety of Festivals that we have now.  So I made up a Festival tag for you...

...lots of 60's and 70's colours!!!!  The background has been spritzed with *Media Fluid Misters* then added a layer of Clear Gesso.  The clear gesso made the white stencilling through the *Random Circles Mask* a lot easier as it sets the colours underneath.  The *Guitar* and the *Mini Flowers* have been painted with neat Fluid Acrylics.  Lots of doodling and a quote finishes it off.

I had a lot of fun with this one!!!  If you would like to join in with any of our themes this month there are still a few days to enter.  Take a look at the July tab at the top of the blog.

Thank you for popping by, summery hugs, Karen x

With love

Hi guys, the theme today is
Hearts and swirls,
I just can't help myself when hearts are around to think love, feminine, pretty and these chipboard pieces fit the bill perfectly for it,

I used one out of the two chipboard flourishes in the pack, painted it with gesso, then when dry added a script stamp using  a brown ink pad, let that dry then painted over the top with Wow clear embossing powder, this gives a lovely sheen, I did the same for the heart on the top left too,

On the top i used a gorgeous mask - long  flourish, this is my new favourite mask, I love it, I used Grunge paste with it,

As you can see the fabulous Tando products can be used for so many types of projects, from shabby chic to grunge style, like the last time I used the flourish,
Don't forget to add your creations to the link above for the chance to win some fabulous Tando Creative goodies!!!

Happy Crafting!!

Hearts and swirls with Irit

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my Hearts and Swirls post!
This time I made a couple of matched ATC cards with - sure- Hearts and Swirls.
The swirls were made with texture paste and Tando most gorgeous Long Flourish  mask. Then I heat embossed the wet paste with embossing glitter. The golden hearts- Rubber Dance lovely stamps- were stamped with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with gold powder. Then I added some red stamped Love words and some Tando gold heat embossed symbols.
It's just my tribute to those hash tags and site symbols and all this media thing. Even love is now public!
So let it be!

Hearts and Swirls - Queen of Hearts Arch

Hi Tando fans! Dana here today sharing an arch I created for the Hearts and Swirls theme this week. I started this piece by embossing a Large Straight Edged Arch Frame with gold embossing powder and then backing it with patterned paper. I purchased a book of Alice in Wonderland themed paper dolls a while back and use the queen from that book as the focal point of this project.

I painted several different sized hearts from the Grab Bag of Hearts with dimensional glitter paint. I further embellished some of the hearts with glass beads, crackle paint, and red roses. I also added a key from the Set of 5 Keys. I have the white-lined set, and I simply left the key as-is straight out of the packaging and embellished it with a small rhinestone.

I added a "Q" to this heart with the Letters Mask.

You can find this chipboard and more in the Tando Creative Retail Store! We'd love to have you join the Hearts and Swirls Challenge! 'Hearts and Swirls' - Ring Binder

Hello and welcome to a new week and a new theme here at Tando!   We have gone all HEARTS & SWIRLS!  Have you spotted that we sell RING BINDERS for you to alter????  They come in different sizes, are very sturdy and come complete with 6 fantastic board pages for you to create on!  I have decorated an 8x8inch folder for you...its very pink....

I have used DecoArt Media Misters throughout this project, I love that these are so vibrant, as you can see.  For the covers I sprayed through 3 different masks/stencils till I was happy.  I spread Crackle Texture through a flourish mask onto the HEARTS.  When they were dry I sprayed them with the mists.  The flourish was sprayed and treated to a coat of CLEAR CRACKLE GLAZE before cutting it up to make 'leaves'.  The stems are also chipboard, cut from a media board.

I shall be making up the boards from inside the folder using the prompts that we have lined up so look out for those :-D

I used:
8x8 Folder

Masks/stencils:
Giovanna Zara- Large Doillie
Andy Skinner - Sunburst
Tando - Random Circles
DecoArts Misters - Primary Magenta, Yellow Green & Purple

There is still time to enter our monthly challenge!  Just take a look at the July page at the top of our Blog for more details.

Rusty Old Compass By Dee (Anything Goes)

Hi everyone I am Dee with my first post as part of the Tando design team.
I would like to say a huge thank you to Di & the team for being so
welcoming. I thought that I would give you
a flavour of my style today.
So lets get started, I absolutely love Deco Art Media Line products
which I used to create this piece.
For the center compass I covered it in texture sand paste
and allowed to dry.
Next I painted the big compass in Deco Art media fluids Titan buff.
Then I stamped in black archival Andy skinners peeling
paint from his Industrial Set
I then applied Crackle paste to parts of the main compass and
allowed to dry prior to painting with burnt umber.
I finished it of with Andy's dirty wash.
Back to the center piece and I painted that with Burnt Umber,
Prussian Blue Hue, Cobalt Turquoise Hue &
 Quinacridone Gold.
A spinner was attached, as was rivets this was then highlighted with gold
gilding wax. I hope you liked the post please feel free to ask,
any questions or just let me know what you think.
Cheers Dee x

May we always have Paris: Anything goes with Irit

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my Anything goes post!
Today I am going to share my two loves: my love for Tando Printer's trays and my eternal love for Paris.
I design for Tando Creative for 5 years and those printer's trays were and still are my most favourite Tando products. And when you add gorgeous themed paper and fantastic stamps, your Paris becomes a real thing.
I used this Casablanca movie line as my title (a bit of a change as  it was " We 'll always have Paris" and I made it " May we always have Paris"), but it's still about love and memories and .... Paris , of course.
The background was stamped and heat embossed and misted and trimmed and  I had fun to make it.
I used quite a lot of RD stamps to make this background:
The chipboard tray  was heat embossed with a mix of copper and teal powders to get this  aged look.
The window of mini windows Tando set was made in the same way and glued on the bottom.\
I also added Tando's Compass  chipboard piece on the top that was heat embossed with white (dirty white ) powder.
A few Paris stickers were added inside the tray- 3d stickers and photo shot one.All together this piece was misted with teal and pink mists.
And finally my Paris tray was done and was real.
I really hope to be back there in a short time!

Soar Free

Hi guys, Liz here with my first DT post for this awesome company and very talented teamies, I'm so honoured and happy to be here to work with these fabulous products,
The theme is anything goes,
I have altered a Mini Printer Tray  with cover, this is the cover which I have painted with a layer of white Gesso, the when dry added some crackle paint randomly here and there for texture, let that dry then I took a flourish mask and stenciled the design on with grunge paste,
I then painted the cover front, sides and back plus the inside with distress inks and Inka Gold waxes too,

For the inside I have used two of the three sectioned layers, so I could add embellishments with depth onto the frame, the frame is again coloured with Inka Gold waxes, I can use the third layer up on another project some time too, I used distress ink on some water colour paper, added some stamps from my stash then cut sections out to fit the design,
I then added  some more Tando pieces Mini Music and mini leaves 1, then finished it off with metal pieces, lace and flowers,

Mini Canvas

Hi, its Karen here again with a little something I made up a while ago.

I have used a Tando BUTTERFLY on a teensy 2x2 inch canvas to make a present for someone who reached a 'certain age' haha!  I dabbed some green acrylic through the SEQUIN WASTE MASK before over stamping.  The butterfly has been painted with acrylics and then had CRACKLE GLAZE added.

Please pop back again tomorrow for more lovely ideas from the Design Team.

Horse!

Hi there, its Karen here with one of the new (ish) designs for Anything Goes Week.  I have had fun decorating a HORSE!  This one is free standing at around 6inches high and is made from sturdy MDF.

I wanted to try out the DecoArt Media Misters and was not disappointed with the colours...really vibrant!  I started by giving the horse & stand a cover of Gesso before spraying through a few of Tando's Masks/stencils.  I added some Bakers Twine for the mane & tail plus a quote which looks wonky (sorry).  The stand has been covered with DecoArt Crackle Paste which was coloured with some fluid acrylics.

Here is what I used:

Tando Horse

Tando Masks:
