Hello! Here is my second *twinchie* using our new colour theme prompt. The colours are lovely and remind me of fluorite! As its for February I have included a heart from our mini's range.
Here is the colour pic.. complete with a lovely pic of fluorite :D
I hope that you will join in with me to create a series as I will end up with a set of little squares that I can frame. Take care out there, Karen xxx

Tando colour week - February
Hello, Carol with you today to kick start our February Colour Week.
Here is the colour palette for February:-
A great colour palette to work with.
I have used the larger board, 74 x 138 mm, in greyboard and added a coating of grey acrylic paint and then dry brushed colours from the palette… I then painted some butterflies and hearts from the new mega packs, stamped and added some doodling.
Do pop back during the week for some more colour pieces.

Masks and Stencils with Lisa
Hi folks, Lisa here and welcome to my blog post for Tando. This week the theme is 'masks and stencils'.
Like every mixed media artist, I have a thing about stencils. Tando have a mega selection of stencils, of all themes and sizes. I chose a huge selection for this project. Here is my creation...
I used the Kate Crane divided box (Ministry of Mixology kit - April 2017) Tando kit. I have had this a while but didn't know what I wanted to store in there... Until.... Enter the Tando Tags Mega Bundle!!!!
I love creating using the Tando Tags. Any size. And I always find myself searching for them. But now I don't have to!!!
I first laid out all the pieces of the kit down flat and gave them a coat of white gesso on both sides.
I then raided my selection of Tando Stencils. I love stencils. How you can use the whole image, a corner or just the middle part to create a different look.
I basically had no method to creating this box. I just went with it. I used a selection of colours from the DecoArt Premium paint range and continually added layers and layers colour with a different stencil until I was happy.
I drew over some of the stencilled shapes with black and white Posca pens.
I wrote out a label on a piece of white card and added some ink to distress it. Then attached it to the box using brads.
I hope you like my version of the Kate Crane divided box.
If you would like to leave me a comment please do so, I love to hear your thoughts.
Toodles for now,
Lisa xxx

Masks and Stencils
Hi it's Brenda here with a media board from the Kate Crane Tags kit and I have used stencils to help to create a number of mixed media layers for my background.
I began by painting raw sienna and gold media acrylic paints on the substrate and then used black acrylic through an Andy Skinner stencil.
I love this technique of creating distressed painty layers - I painted titan buff onto the card and then rubbed it onto the board - it covers some of the background and some of the stenciling ....
... and so the mottled layering begins.
Why not mix your own colours too? Having used the black I added some vermillion and created this dark brown and stencilled the dots.
Not wanting to waste the bit left over I mixed it with pyrrole red to create this lovely burgundy shade that I used with the Tando mini cogs stencil.
A little bit of stamping and a little more monoprinted titan buff and I'm happy with the background.
But I haven't finished with the stencils just yet. I took the steampunk one by Andy and with black modeling paste created the focal image .....
... and finished with a quote and some embellishments suspended from a rusty wire hanging.
I hope you have fun with your stencils this week.

Masks and Stencils - Happy Houses by Hannah
Hi all, Hannah here with a fun layered project for Masks and Stencils week!
This bright and bold canvas features Tando Whimsical Houses and a layered mixed media background.
First up; I introduced texture to the canvas by drawing modelling paste and crackle paste through an arrow and chevron stencil using a palette knife. Once dry I selected bright colours in DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics Primary Magenta, Primary Yellow and Cadmium Orange, and painted the canvas, using White Gesso to lighten and blend the colours.
Over this I introduced stencilled layers in the same colour way, dry brushing in between each layer to knock the colours back and to highlight the raised textures.
I also added stencilled words to the canvas, again in the same colours. To the raised areas I added patterns and details using a white pen.
The edge of the canvas has been finished in Paynes Grey, to give the impression of a boarder, and this same colour has been added to the canvas in lines using the edge of a palette knife.
The main feature of the canvas, the Whimsical Houses, have been painted in Black Gesso and given detail using a white ball pen. The houses have been mounted on foam pads, and stand on coordinated washi tape.
I hope you have enjoyed this project, see you soon for the next one!

Stencils
Hello, Carol with you today with my stencil post.
My base is a long tag, which had texture paste used thro' the Andy Skinner "have your say" mask, some torn book paper was then added before painting using acrylic paint direct onto the greyboard. Using white paint I replaced the stencil and hi-lighted the letters and added some stencilling using the sequin mask, using the smaller, 4 x 4 stencil numbers - I added black paint to my base.
Taking a mixture of elements from the whimsical birds 2 set I painted using acrylic paint and added stencilling using the sequin stencil.

Mini Book - as seen on TV & a Tutorial!
Hello!!!! Have you seen the new mini books that we have just brought out? I have been playing with the one that has a 'wrap around' style. If you watched Di's show on Hochanda recently you would have seen it :D
I have also made up the tiniest Mini Book and written a PDF tutorial for you to use. You can find it *HERE*.
Back to the leaf book:
I have used the pretty 'leaf stencil' to add some detail to the front and back. You can also see the unique way that Di has cut the spine to bend in this photo.
Then I added some fancy ribbon and a charm to finish it off.
Thank you for popping by, Karen xxx

I added some DecoArt paint and crackle glaze as well as a butterfly to the piece. Inside I added a little book made using my Bind-it-All. This is an easy way if you are not sure about making books!
