Spring Binder

Morning All Fiona here with a project for this weeks theme on the blog 'SPRING'

I have decorated a little Tando A6 Binder in a spring theme and of course
I just had to add a Butterfly.
First up the binder was given a coat Of DecoArt Chalky Finish in Carbon on both the inside and out.
I then applied two coats of DecoArt Ultra Matte Varnish to seal the binder.
A distress Ink sprayed background  was created with some stamping and heat embossing to create a panel for the binder.
More heat embossing on the Tando Moroccan Grid. Also the flowers and the butterfly were heat embossed on Duralar Film for a Dreamy effect.
An antique mirror effect was applied to a tando acrylic circle and circle frames cut from Tando Grey Board using a circle die were added.
Finally a Tim Holtz chipboard quote added to finish.

I am embracing the bright colours and loving it.

Grung Media Board- Fiona Randall

Morning all it's Grunge Week here on the Tando Blog.

I love a bit of Grungy Goodness what's not to like about those shades of browns, rustiness and some patina and metallics thrown in for good measure....YUM.

I have created a little Grungy project using a Tando Media Board as my base substrate.
Texture paste through a stencil then once dry liberally sprayed with Lindy's Moon Shadow mists.
These Mists are a Sepia Toned Ink with a colour shimmer.
A light wash of some Quinacrodone Gold Media Fluid Acrylic.
Some Gold Metallic paint and waxes to decorate the Tando Elements.
The circle from the Astral Arch Kit and the Layered Dragonfly.
Inking around the edges of the media board to add depth then elements arranged to finish.
A quick and easy project that was fun to complete.

‘Anything Goes’ week and more new Tando releases...

Hello lovely people.

I’ve loved this new release, and had fun decorating them all. You can still watch Di on Hochanda, if you missed it, on rewind 👍

The new wall hangings are really fun. I admit I took my little knife to this first one and carefully took out two of the bottle and used two cats, stuck together, in their place. As soon as I saw the bottles I knew what I wanted to do. I used Celia’s chippy boat paint technique for the top layer, painted all the bottles on the bottom layers and embossed the front bottles with sparkly embossing powders, then with a couple of posca pens scribbled labels on the front and added a few highlights. I embossed the ‘falling’ bottles too.

Naughty pussy cat 🥰

For the fishes wall hanging I did a kind of Kate Crane background, loosely layering a dark and light blue and some white, then stencilled over the top. I repeated this on the front but predominately used the darker blue. I painted the fish and dry brushed the edges with a slightly darker colour of each of the colours I chose, then again got busy with my posca pens.

Swim little fishes, swim...

Lastly I made a journal with a concertina binding, with the crafters ‘Spine Scene’. I used some gelli prints for the covers, chose a mis-match of letters for the front and set to painting the scene. Yes there is some posca pen doodling...how did you guess? 🤣.
These scenes come alive as you start to paint them. I’ll definitely be doing some more ❤️

I used:

I also used: various DecoArt Paints, Posca Pens, gelli prints, alphabets, PVA glue.

Anything Goes Week- Tando New Product Launch as seen on Hochanda.

Morning all Fiona here today to showcase

Tando's new product Launch as seen on Hochanda on Monday 15th March 2021.

I had so much fun creating the samples for this launch. This is a picture heavy post as I have so much to show so bear with .

First up is the new 6x6 Ring Binder with Inner pockets and inserts plus the new build a scene spines.

I decorated the binder covers with Distress Ink Sprays and stencils with a faux bleaching effect with some stamping for added interest.

The build a scene spines are fab layered up in four layers to perfectly fit the spine of the binder. More stamping and painting to decorate the spine to tie in with the covers.

It has dividers to decorate for the inside too which were completed to match the outside covers.

Allso on the inside cover there is a deep pocket to construct for holding Tags, Envelopes and Ephermera etc.

Next up is the 6x6 template covers and spine pack. Plus an added bulild a scene spine used on this one too.

This binder was decorated in a rusty patina effect using Lindy's Moon shadow Sprays, some scrapbooking paper a Tando MDF large gear and a mitform castings porthole. The fish element is also from the new release Minis Tags Fish.

A build a scene spine in fish was also used on the spine to finish.

Next up are the new release Wall Hangings. These are great and are assembled in four layers like the spine scenes to give a totally 3d effect.

I opted for the fish again for the wall hanging and decorated with the same rusty patina effect as the binder. The wall hangings and the spine scenes come in four options,
Fish, Caligraphy, pet and potions. You can have so much fun with the new releases so do hop on over to the Tando Store and check them out.
do check back the rest of this week to see what the other creative team members
have created using the Tando new releases.

Angels and Demons Week- Fiona Randall

It's Angels and Demons week here on the Tando Blog.

I've made a little folio using the Tando Faux Slidemounts.

I joined two together to create this little folio by attaching them both to a piece of grey board cut to size to make a base. Embossed cardstock was applied to the front covers and painted and antiqued using DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics and Black Antiquing Cream. Metal Closures were then added to either side of the covers to finish.

For the Inner frames I created two collage pieces in photoshop and adhered to the slide mount backs. I then embossed both frames using the same embossing folder as the front covers and painted and antiqued them to match the covers. The two frame pieces were the attached to a piece of  Tando grey board cut to size to create a base. Small hinges were then attached and the covers added. For a little extra interest I applied some embossed strips to the covers using a Tim Holtz ebossing folder which cuts and embosses at the same time. This were then painted and antiqued to match in.

This can also be a freestanding piece as shown to display on a shelf in your craft room.
A fun little project using the Faux Slidemounts in a different way.

March Colour Theme Week- Fiona Randall

Morning all Fiona here with a project and here is the colour theme for this month.

What a wonderful colour pallette for the begining of spring.

So here is what I created using the colour pallette for inspiration.

I used a Tando Media board mounted onto a Tando Tag and added one of the new Bees recently released. I went for a spring feel feel for this project as the colours are so uplifting.
