Key to a Kingdom: Masculine week projects

Hello my dear crafty friends ! Irit is here again and this is my masculine small altered wall deco.
I used a lot of Tando products on this small stamped piece: steampunk pieces, scalloped basic board, a window tray,a key and key hole. All are painted, stamped, heat embossed and made this art piece so unique.

The textured background was made with stamping into a wet gesso and misting it  when it was still wet.
I hope you like this small altered piece and see you soon again!

One for the boys!

Hi, its All for the Men  here this week , although we secretly know they are boys really hahaha!!!!  I have used a favourite quote of mine and added it to a Tando book page...

...these are great for 'hangy things'!  The board has been treated to some PaperArtsy Crackle and paint and then some coloured texture paste through one of Andy Skinners masks.  The image has been stamped and embossed onto white card, cut out and glued to the board.  The quote is PC generated.

The book as it comes...

Andy's mask...

Please pop over to *Tando Creative* to see what else they make and to find a link to their stockists.  Thank you so much for popping in, Take care, Karen xxx

The men in our life.

I do quite a few male scrapbook pages, and Tando has a whole host of great products to include.  I started this page with the Andy Skinner 'burning rubber' mask - I love the chevrons and they matched one of the pieces of paper that I have layered up behind my photo.  I moved the mask around so it covered the middle section of my page, it was easy to line up and then I used a mixture of mists.

I also used some of the Tando chipboard cogs and a key for my corner embellishment.  As the cogs come covered in white on one side I just added some layers of gelatos and then distress ink onto them, using my fingers.  For the mini key, I just covered it in dark brown ink so it stood out even more against the cogs.

White only arch: Free for all week

Hello my dear Tando friends and welcome to our Free for all week.
Irit is here again and this week with a project made just with one single colour: White.
This is my ALL WHITE arch project, using Tando arch and then a lot of white paints, mediums, stamping, embossing and... You nae it-I did it over this small project.

Those Tando arches are just so versatile: you can make them dark and grungy, but them they can be bright and white or totally colourful.
So try to alter your own arch and see you next week again!

Free for All - Wall art

A little while I go I made a noticeboard (you can see it here) and I didn't use the chipboard squares with the days of the week on….so I decided to make some wall art out of them.

I started by layering them with, then some papers and added ink drips and spritzed with mist, as well as some stamping.  Then a little more gesso and inking, the chipboard can take lots of layers, finally embellishing them with words, punched shapes, buttons and gauze.  I also used a few more tango pieces - including a key which I embossed with silver and a house that I covered in gesso, then ink and then just sprinkled a little bit of embossing powder over the top giving it a patchy effect.

For my last one I used gesso and then gelatos - using them like pastels and spritzing them with water to activate them too, it gives a slightly different and smoother effect to the spray inks, however I couldn't resist a few drops of spray ink!

Anything Goes card by Kaz

I've made a card for our Free For All week:

I've used a base of spray inks, mulberry paper. mesh and a gessoed book page circle with washi tape. The tag has spray ink and I've inked through the ~{Sequin Waste Mask}~ across the bottom. I've taken one of the flowers from the ~{Flower Row 75mm}~ and trimmed it down then painted with acrylic paint. The ~{Mini Butterfly}~ has patterned paper glued on it, inked edges and mini gems. I've inked through part of the ~{Hanging Baubles Mask}~ onto gessoed book pages, edged with watercolour pencils and cut out the leaves.

Free for All: A set of Artist Trading Cards

Hello, its Coco here! We have a "Free For All" week again Yay!...Today I share with you a set of ATCs (Artist Trading Card) made a few weeks ago, some are cute and some others not at all!!! However, there is a common point between them all... This is Andy Skinner, as I used on top of each of them a stencil designed by this stunning Artist.

On my two first ATCs, you may have recognized the beautiful Children stencil... It fits perfectly the size of an ATC which i2 1⁄2 by 3 1⁄2 inches (64 × 89 mm).
If you are a regular follower, you must have viewed this first ATC on the challenge blog too, posted by Carol last Wednesday to help to inspire you for our "Bold and Bright" challenge this month. Don't forget it, this is an easy challenge I think and it's not over!
Here's the second ATC I did using the same 'Children' stencil, but in a very different way.

Well... As a first good New Year's resolution, I have decided to try organizing myself better and to take time to write down (directly on the back when I can) all the steps of creation during my creative process. I'm happy it's been successful this time at least!! So here's the how-to for the second ATC only (I just discovered that I wrote nothing for the others hahahaha!!!!). I did my background with leftovers of Cosmic Shimmer (rose and violet) and Dylusions inks (red). I added texture over my Children stencil using cheap fine textured paste. I usually prefer a textured paste that dries quickly, but this time I was in no rush, so I let it dry all the night and it was okay. I covered almost all the parts with Treasure gold.
I edged my ATC with Distress Dusty Concord, and also added a bit of Mustard Seed at the top right side.
The quote is from "Quintessential Quotes" by Dyan Reaveley. it was inked using Eggplant Adirondack ink on scraps of patterned paper, and heat-embossed using pearly transparent powder.
A bit of intense Fuchsia colour was also added in the middle behind the children using a drop of alcohol ink (Rasberry), to add pink colour shades and extra dimension.

For the other ATCs, they have been done for quite a long time, being also used to mop up ink and paint remainders from other bigger projects and spillages, so even if I'd like to I couldn't be sure about all the ingredients I used I'm afraid!

On the two next ones, I used one of my fave stencil/masks forever from Andy: Skulldugerry. I love this stencil, it's so special and beautiful, you can do many different artsy works with it.

This latter was done for a swap with a crafty friend on the theme of Halloween. There are lots of (Grunge) paste, Treasure Golds gilding wax, stamps, inks and paints over them... I remember I also sanded the surface of the skull (The little blank "holes" you can see here and there are done using this simple technique, done with more pressure at some places to create beautiful holes).

Tip: If like me you don't have any ATC box yet and do not feel you will have time to make one in the next short while.. you can reuse the packaging of your long Sizzix dies (if you have some), they have the perfect size to store up to 4 ATCs!! Here's my strip of ATCs, I fill the fourth place with another ATC I did for Halloween with some remaining inks and stamps that were lying about.

I used:
A Skinner Stencil/Mask - Children

A Skinner Stencil/Mask - Skullduggery

Hope you like...  I had a great fun to do all these ATCs! Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment if you feel you would like to and have time to do it of course. Have a great day and lovely week ahead all my crafty friends and/or fans of Tando products! (I've long been a fan myself!!!)  Coco xxx

Fun & Games - King & Queen ATC Set with Dana

Hi Tando fans! Dana here today sharing a pair of ATCs for the Fun and Games theme this week. I mounted each playing card onto an Artist Trading Card base. If you've never used a Tando ATC, they are absolutely fantastic and hold up to several layers of wet mediums and all kinds of abuse!

I selected a heart from the Grab Bag of Hearts and painted it red. Once the paint dried I applied some Inka-Gold over the top and then sealed it with a coat of glaze. The text on this card reads "You hold the key to my heart."

I colored this key from the Set of 5 Keys the same way. The text on this card reads "love is the master key that opens the gates of happiness."

Thanks for stopping by today!

Fan and games with Tando

Hello my dear crafty friends! Irit is here with my altered Mixed Media game project.
I actually used an old, partly with missing pieces puzzle and made this art board over it.
I used Tando delicious  stencils and a big Clock chipboard and made this " Timeless" piece for my new craft room.
As you can see I use the chipboard clock as a mask too, with misting around it.

A close look at the clock shape and the molding paste letters from the stencil I used.

See you nest week with more Tando inspiration!

Black and White fan with Irit

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to Tando Black and White week!
This is my new Black and White altered piece made for Tando DT blog.
This is my very first Tando fan (the middle size of it), but sure not the last one, as I really adore all things oriental and those fans can be altered in so many ways.

I stamped the background with Sweet Stamps Apple blossom stamp (not seen much as it's white on white stamping). The back frame is heavy glittered (mess, mess and never again...)

Then I added some FWAB black swirls and Prima white flowers and I really like the results.
Do you?

Black and White Card

I made a card with our theme of Black and White:

I masked off everything apart from the circle on the ~{Bamboo Mask}~ and inked it onto the card blank, then inked through some of the lines on the ~{Evolution Mask}~ in the centre.

I took a butterfly from the ~{Butterfly Grab Bag}~, painted it white, stamped a text stamp and inked the edges. I finished it off with some pearl gems. I then painted a butterfly black from the ~{Mini Butterflies}~ and white embossed  a stamp on it.

Black and White House

Hello, its Karen here!  Crafty work is in full swing again everywhere and  am no exception :-D  Today I am bringing you some Tando...a little house!  Our theme this week is Black and White which is quite nice after all the colours of Christmas!!!!  The photo really doesn't do this justice as there is a 'little' sparkle on it ...

The house has been painted and stamped.  The roof has a little medium spread through a Tando mask before painting and embossing.  I can see, looking at it now,  that there is more that I could have done with it to be honest.  \sorry about that!  Its the 1st time I have ventured into popping things onto cotton reels and I did have a bit of fun with it and that's what counts isn't it?  These houses come in a pack of 3 and are a bargain at just over £2.  When made up the one above has a base of around 1" square to give you an idea of size.  Here is the nekkid look...

Thank you for popping by.  Please come back and see some more, HUGS xxx

Black & White - Puppy Love Layout with Dana

Hi Tando fans! Dana here sharing a layout for the Black and White Theme this week. I used several of my favorite pieces of Tando Creative chipboard as well as a mask on this page that features an old photo of my Grandmother.

In addition to the lines, my piece of patterned paper also has splatters of color. I played up the random circle design by using the Random Circles Mask as a stencil. I traced around the mask on several areas of my page and colored the design with a black marker.

I added some fluffy clouds for  touch of whimsy. I covered several pieces from the Grab Bag of Clouds with pearl mica flake.

I colored a piece from the Camera Grab Bag, added a pearl and then a coat of glaze for a bit of shine.

I had the base leftover from my Heart Cog Pendant set, and because it was cut from white lined board, only added a light coat of black ink around the edges.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
