Butterfly Tree - Trees Week.

Hi all and welcome to another Tando post from me, Lisa. It's my turn to show you my creation for the theme this week which is Trees.

I used the Tando 3 Panel Wall Art - Trees, Butterflies and Flowers and lots of mixed media.

I first adhered the tree branches on to the 3 wall panels then used the Random Circles Mask with DecoArt Texture Sand Paste to create the background.

I added the flowers and the butterflies from the panels pack and added some more butterflies from the butterfly grab bag on and around the branches. I also added some small birdcages and a lantern from the lantern set.

I then painted DecoArt Crackle Paint of the tree branches to add more texture.

Here are the Tando products I used which are all available on the Tando Website.

Oriental blossoms:Tree week

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my Trees week project.
This is my  take  of trees. Not really a whole tree, but a few branches of it and not really a full Tando piece, but just one third of it. I promise to make other 2/3 soon...
So it's my oriental style blossoms  and I decided to stay out of green and to make it with blues and reds and a lot of background stamping and painting.
I used crackle paint to get this look of Tando chipboard panel and added white heat embossed stamped images  over it.
The flowers and the branches are painted with acrylics and covered with was and a bit of glitter.

A Winter's Morning

Hi guys, Liz here and this week as you know the theme is trees, I really like these fir trees which come in a set of three, they have their own little stands but I added them onto one of the mixed media boards for my project.
I thought it would make a lovely table decoration.

I started by adding some texture sand onto the trees stippling it on, this way some of the natural colour shows through for interest and  added texture, when this was drying I sprinkled some glamour dust (glitter) on to them, in real life they sparkle beautifully!!! honest,
I then took one of the media boards and added some of the Deco Art Modeling paste on, spreading it unevenly and leaving some parts a little thicker, I left the edge with out any so it could find it's own level as it dried for a more natural look too,

The Mini Reindeer's were painted with Deco Art silver fluid ink paint and the antlers have some stickles on them too, again these shine too, I fixed them onto the board with pieces of acetate then added some Finland moss from my stash for the woodland effect, I really wish you could see the sparkle they look really magical,

I hope you decide to join us and if you do just click on the link above,
Happy Crafting!!
Hugs Liz xx

Be ready for Christmas: Anything goes with Irit

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my Anything goes project for today.
As you already know I am a big fan of Tando mini trays. So here is another one and it's very easy to make one, so anyone can make this with just some paint and a lot of stickers you can put inside.
I decided to share this simple project as not everyone is a crafty expert. Sometime we need to share the easy projects that can be done with kids/for kids by a non crafter.
And this is this kind of a project.
Just pick the frame and some acrylic paint and paint the stand and the frame into your favorite color.
Add some background paper (mine is stamped, but you can add any lovely paper you have).
Add a whole pack of stickers inside and over the frame and you are done.
How lovely and how easy to make!

Anything goes with Dee

As promised sorry its late my 3D project as you can see I got carried away
and am getting even busier at work at the moment
so it took a few days to complete.
For those of you that attended the Ministry of Mixology I used Andy's techniques
from his workshop  & a few of my own, to decorate this amazingly
useful storage unit.
I used Deco Arts crackle paste through Tando Mask - Long Flourish.
The key, cogs, & compass were created by covering them with Texture sand paste
this was then painted with raw umber then paynes grey
next I used Quinacridone Gold.
The clock face was stamped onto white card then painted with water colour pencils
and then blended out and sealed with Soft touch varnish.
The flourishes were sprinkles with Lindy's stamp gang magical powders then
spritzed with water.
A close up of all the lovely crackle.
Another close up of the keys these also were treated to the
Lindy's stamp gang powders also.
I made a feature of the joins as I thought they would make a lovely
aged feature to it.
A close up of the clock.
I also touched the flourishes with treasure gold.
I left the sides of the compartments red to give contrast also I lined the
base with Tim Holtz resist papers.
I sealed the entire project with Soft touch varnish. If you have any questions feel free to ask and I will try to answer them as best I can. I hope you think it was worth the wait.
Please feel free to let me know what you think.
Cheers Dee x

Anything Goes: Nautical Heritage Page

Hi friends! Dana here today sharing a layout for the Anything Goes theme this week. I've recently inherited some vintage family photos. When I come across the right paper collection, I jump at the chance to create a heritage page for my family scrapbook album.

I can always count on Tando to have fun designs to match almost any theme! I lightly distressed this Anchor with ink.

I painted this Cloud with a coat of white acrylic paint and then added a touch of blue ink to the edge.

You can find the pieces I used for this project and more in the Tando Creative Retail Store! We'd love to see what you create for our Anything Goes Challenge! To be in with a chance of winning some great Tando goodies of your choice, please make a piece based on our weekly themes and link your project, not just your blog, using the inlinkz tool located at the top of the Tando Blog. You don't have to use any Tando product, but, if you do, you will be entered into the draw twice! There are no limits to how many times you enter, however, we do request that you only enter your piece for 5 challenges. We look forward to seeing your creations!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Anything Goes Week

Its Karen here today kick starting another of our 'Anything Goes' weeks.  With Christmas very upper in my mind now  I have made some decoration pieces to share with you.  Looking at the *TRIPLE HOUSE HANGING* I saw that its very 3D and each house can actually be free standing!  So that's what I have done...

Each house is around 5inches tall to give you an idea of size.  The main parts have been painted and a chunky Gold Pilot pen run down the edges.  Inside the frames I have added some stamped pictures along with some stamped holly.  The rooves are covered in corrugated card.

You could of course add Christmas photographs inside the frames if you wish ;-P  Here it is as its 'supposed' to look...

I used :
Triple House Hanging
DecoArt Media Paint - Primary Magenta(a good Christmas red), Yellow Green Light & Titan Buff.

If you would like to play along with us then please do!  Take a look at the November Tab at the top of the page for more details.

Thank you for looking today and please pop back soon! Karen xxx

3D with Lisa

Morning folks!! Welcome to another post from me, Lisa, with my take on the 3D theme this week.

After still recovering from the fabulous Tando Ministry of Mixology Weekend Workshop, here is my creation.

I used the small straight edge arches make a continuous standing frame. You can add anything you want too these frames, photographs, cut out images are stamping.
One the smaller frames I used the Tando distressed sequins mini mask with some texture paste. Then painted them with DecoArt colbalt teal hue and rubbed over a small amount of DecoArt metallic gold paint.

On the inside of the bigger frames I used DecoArt crackle paint and left it to dry then stamped over the top. I used the same colbalt teal hue on the borders of the big arches.

To finish, I added some eyelets and jute string to tie them together to make them stand.

Arches - Straight edged small   Mini Mask - Distressed Sequins

Thanks for stopping by, if you'd like to join in with the challenge you can link your creation at the top of the blog.

3D With Dee

Hi Everyone Dee here today with my 3D piece or not
I have a project but it is quite large and
I just couldn't get it finished
in time for this post.
So here is a sneak Peek below of the project I will do a full post
  once I have completed it.
For this piece I used a media board that I had used the
A Skinner Stencil/Mask - Incognito with crackle paste
down the centre of a
Once the media board was dry I painted the whole board with
Prussian blue hue mixed with tinting base.
Next I used Media Antiquing: Raw Umber over the top and
knocked back.
next I used crackle paint to paint the centre area around the
cogs.
I used Cogs Grab bag that had been coated with texture sand paste
then painted with Raw Umber and highlighted with
treasure gold. The other pieces are a clock
stamped onto a Tando circle and the other has
small cogs highlighted in liquid glass.
That's all for today folks be back with the 3D project soon.
Cheers Dee x
