Flight- Weekly Theme- Fiona Randall

Morning all.
This weeks theme on the blog is FLIGHT.
Meaning:-
"the action or process of flying through the air."

I have created this Tando tag using layers of DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics in Qunacrodone Gold Burnt Umber and Cobalt Turquiose Hue for the base of the tag and a Tando Grey Board Circle.  I then gave an aged metal effect to the Tando Cogs and Wings, die cut circle element and a die cut 3d star using DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylic in metallic Gold then aged with DecoArt Media Black Antiquing Cream. I then layered all the elements up on the tag base and finished by adding a butterfly which was printed and then fussy cut out. To finish I added the sentiment to the base of the tag. So there you have it my Interpretation of this weeks theme of Flight.
Do check back throughout the week to see what the Team Members have in store for you.
As Always we appreciate you stopping by.

New Home Hanging

Hi!  My sister has very recently moved house and I wanted to make her a 'home' hanging as a moving in gift.  Tando has a wonderful mix of substrates for all sorts of ideas and I found this lovely set which was perfect....  *The TALL HOUSE KIT*!   I didn't use the whole kit s the project is a fairly small one, around 6x6inches.

I painted the canvas board with dark blue and, when dry, added Weathered Wood then a light coat of white, using a large brush.

I added texture sand through  the *GIRAFFE* mask on the roof and modelling paste through the *DOT STREAM* mask on the large tree.  When they were dry they were painted with acrylics.  The main part of the house has been painted and then stamped on with a crackle stamp.  I added some painted card behind the doorway.  The lettering was done on my computer.

Thank you for looking, Karen x

Large Ring Binder

Hello!  Karen here with the largest *RING BINDER* in the set of three.  This one is around 9x11 inches, just under A4.  As a set they are incredibly good value!!!!

In a bid to use up my papers I have covered all the outsides apart from the spines.  The inside is just painted *CADMIUM RED* as well as the edges and spines on the outside.  The large *DISTRESSED HEART*  has been distressed some more around the edges and had some of the *TEXTURE THINS* added before painting in the same red.  A strip of wide lace was glued around the outside as shown before the heart was attached.

Thank you for taking a look, take care xxx

Texture - week end

Hello, Carol with you this very windy and wet Sunday morning, bringing this week's texture theme to an end.

Texture - did you know that the word "texture" is a noun and a verb?
noun -the feel, appearance, or consistency of a surface or a substance.
"skin texture and tone"

Verb - give (a surface) a rough or raised texture.
"wallcoverings which create a textured finish"

For, my piece, I've added texture to a Tando heart by adding paint, stamping, doodling, then adding elements to add further texture - book pages, washi, die cuts, stamps and embellishments…a different take on the "texture" theme…

Texture Week - by Nikki K

Morning all,

It's Texture week this week, and my turn to make a project today.  I hope you've enjoyed the rest of the team's posts this week, and if you haven't seen them, please check them out on the blog, we really appreciate your visit. x

I started by taking one of the fab layered Tags by Fiona for Tando, and putting a thin coat of Texture Sand paste on the bottom layer.  I wanted this to create texture later.

I glued the tags together, and painted the whole tag in black.  Then colours were sponged on to give a galaxy effect, I used Cobalt Blue, Magenta, Cobalt Teal, Dioxazine Purple and White.  For both of these processes I used a sponge to give the paint effect more texture.

The whole tag was then splattered, with white, to give the appearance of stars.

For the aperture's, I mixed Triple Thick Glaze, with a little transparent yellow iron oxide, and put a thin layer in each aperture, so that the texture still showed as lumpy through it.  I didn't want a flat glazed look.

The little bits of black in the moon and stars are from the sponge painting, I like that they show through and give depth.

I love the glazed effect, and you can add any colour paint in a tiny amount to Triple Thick Glaze for it to take on a whole different look.

Hope you enjoyed this today.

Best Wishes,

Nikki

Texture Week- Fiona Randall

Morning All'

It's the start of a new week here on the Tando Blog and this week it's all about the Texture.

So to Kick things off here is a little something from me.

I created a layered textured panel using my go to Tando Grey Board sheets and my Layered Tags from Tando and of course lots of lovely texture to boot.
I added the moths from the new Pink Ink stamps and Dies sets, the texture on the tag from DecoArt Modelling paste through a Tando Mini Brick Stencil. The base panel had texture from DecoArt Texture Sand paste. All bought together with DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics to add a pop of colour. To finish Journaling words were added.

Do check back this week to see what the other team members have in store for you.
we really appreciate you stopping by.

February Colour week

Hello, Carol with you this Sunday bringing this month's colour theme to a close.

The colour palette for this month has been:-

So, in a way this caused me a bit of a think - as each month I'm decorating my monthly folders for the 366 challenge and for February the monthly theme is "Golden" so… this is my take on this months challenge… lol

So, the outer cover is in this months colour theme and the inner files are based on the "golden" theme.  Both have been decorated with tando stencils….

This is the finished outer…

Unlike last month, I will fasten the files inside once I've done the daily innies… lol - its must easier that way…

Layers by Dee

Hi everyone Dee here with a post for Tando Creative this weeks theme is layers.
I have created this #Tando tag using layers of paint along with layers of paper &
pastes. Then layering up the elements.

Firstly I started with a grey board tag from Tando which I covered with cut up paper to
create texture. Some of this paper was embossed to give a deeper depth to the tag.
Next came the #Deco Art mediums & pastes sand crackle and modelling paste
was all used.

I allowed this to dry overnight which allows everything to dry out fully. I started with a
fabulous Sapphire blue from #Deco Art Traditions artist acrylics. I sprayed the tag with water and
just added with the tip go my paintbrush this was followed by #Deco Art Media Paynes grey,
then raw umber.

The stamp I used was a stamp by #Carabello Studio this was painted with media paints
the heart was given a glaze.

The stars are moulds you have to be careful as the ends tend to break off but I thought it looked distressed so thats what I am going with. Rusty wire was from #Hannah Oxberry. Thats it
from me feel free to leave a comment or ask a question or give it a go and
let us see it on facebook. Cheers Dee x
