This week i decided to use all my best scrapbooking papers i have been saving for best. Some are over 15 years old. Its a shame to keep them in storage and unseen.
Materials
Tando Greyboard
Whilst i was doing this project, i was also playing around with my big shot machine, embossing folder and Greyboard. Tando Greyboard embosses beautifully and looks even better painted up, inked and heat embossed. I set my pieces aside for decorating the album later
Paints in spring colours such as yellow, oink, orange, red, peach
Patterned papers in spring colours
Pom Pom Trim
Paper leaves
Paper Flowers
Pearls
Embossing folders
Clear embossing pad and powder
Large elastic band as a closure
Instructions
I began by painting the concertina album and all its parts in a lovely bright yellow paint. The album comes with 5 file dividers, a pocket and a mini clipboard to go inside the pocket. Once dry i painted the edges roughly in pink paint. I wasn't too neat as i knew patterned paper was going ontop.
Next i took out all my best paper. Most of these scrapbook companies don't even exist anymore. I wanted to create a sort of patchwork effect on the project so well and truly hacked into my best papers. I cut random strips, squares and rectangles and added them to all the parts, even the tabs.
Once all my album, file dividers and clipboard etc where covered in patterned paper, I sanded down all the edges for a shabby chic look. I added some of the greyboard tiles and paper flowers to decorate
Next i began working on decorating the front cover. I added Pom Pom trim to the outside edge. I added my embossed tiles and layered up some paper leaves.
Once i was happy with my placement i used a strong glue to attach everything down. I definably use the wood glue recommend by Di and wee glue applicators, game changer.
I hope i have inspired you to break out those papers that you have saved for best as you just know you wont get around to using them if you dont start cutting into them.
Thanks for joining me
Sarah xx
