Scalloped Double Bunner tutorial

This project was done for my Pretty Little Studio paper company DT- but Tando Creative chipboard large Scalloped Double Banner was the best part of it.. Really. I could make this project with this banner only.. No chance to make it by hand. I couldn't post this project before as it was published with a full tutorial in Scrapbooming. Com. web magazine- November  2011 issue, but as it's December now- it can be posted.

So here is a full tutorial as posted on PLS blog and here are some photos of Tando pieces I used for this project

Calendar page - February

No you are right it is the 1st December today and Christmas is still in the future, the near future but you still have a few more days.

I've been making a calendar for 2012 using an acrylic album one page side for each month, this is February.   A winter month but a romantic one especially in 2012 as it is a leap year.   Trying to capture the theme of the month I've put in a little reminder of that all important date and some Tando hearts stamped and then glazed with Rock Candy crackle.   The Tando frame coloured with Nick Bantock inks.

There are one or two other month's I'll share with you from time to time.

Advent Boxes!

As soon as I saw these lovely little boxes I thought of Advent!!!  When made up they measure approx 5cm cubed and are very sturdy.  I love the way that the scalloped top folds down into the box for closing, though you do need to glue this fold for extra strength.

I have painted the scallops and then used glittery paper for the rest.  As I was going for a country look they have been strung with string and kraft card used for the number tags.  You can still open them strung like this but they would look fantastic hung individually on the tree. They also stack very well so you could have an Advent Mountain haha   Here they are in all their glory, though its tricky to get a 'nice' pic of them altogether hahaha!

Oh and wouldn't these make brilliant favour boxes or just boxes for that special little present?  Thanks for taking a look today, HUGS, Karen x

Altered Arch

I've had a play with one of the ~{Gothic Arches}~ to make a small gift and I'd forgotten how lovely they are!

I've painted it with gesso which I've then heated to get this gorgeous bubbly texture before painting with acrylic paints. I also used sprays, stamps and doodled a lot!

I got the gesso VERY hot to make it bubble as much as possible and it had no effect on the chipboard base. It remained flat and had no bend in it at all.
