MUSIC AMONGST THE TREES

Hello, its Karen here again!  I love trees and can often be found with my arms around one hahaha!  (just thought I would share that :D )  I have made a canvas for you today using the gorgeous curly tree and a journalling block.  How useful are those blocks?  Very!!!!!

I have used Adirondack inks throughout & added my favourite Rock CandyCrackle Paint to bring up the colours & add dimension!  The leaves are handcut from scraps of chippie that I have in my stash.  The quote is from that fountain of all quotes...The Quote Garden.  Oh & here are the nekkid pieces...

I love this tree, its really pretty & could be used for so many ideas!  So thats another Christmas present out of the way haha.  Thank you for looking today and do pop back again tomorrow for more inspiration! HUGS XXX

Christmas Bauble card #2

I've used this bauble before to make a card, which you can see ~{here}~ , but this year I've done it in different colours for a new feel. I've used Viva Decor Precious Metal paint in Blue Lagoon and Lilac, although the lilac matched this pink paper perfectly.

I used a fine brush to make sure the paint went where it was supposed to, but the embossed part is well defined making it easier. I finished the wording with a very fine pen for definition.

A gated Disney Castle

I really love this layout that Janet has done, the simple styling is perfect so the focus on the photo is not distracted.  The gate is a perfect embellishment to add too.

Don't forget Janet's blog Dash-Paw is in our side bar so do pop over and have a look at her beautiful creations.

3D Christmas Tree

Hi Angela here with my first post as a member of The Tando Creative Design Team and I am delighted to be working alongside some very talented crafters.
I just love the Tando 3D Christmas tree and decided to decorate one for my dining room table for Christmas.
My room is blue so I have sprayed the tree with Mica Mists in Frosty Blue, Silver and white, and as you know I love ribbons and bling so I had to add some of them too.

Now I am looking forward to decorating the house with lots of lovely Tando Creative designs for Christmas.

Flourishing layout

Another gorgeous project from Janet today.  I love the simplicity of this layout and the flourishes really look fabulous against the white background.  Thanks for sharing with us Janet.  All the details can be found in the link to Janet's blog post yesterday.

The Big Countdown

Christmas is coming the goose is getting fat and we are approaching the time when children all over have advent calanders of one kind or another.   As soon as I saw this set just knew what to do with it.

Canvas coloured first with B&J and then sprayed with Cosmic Shimmer, Glimmer Mists and Crafty notions.  It looked so good a firm tone was needed for the chipboard and blocks to be added.   While the paint was drying the snowflake and spinner were covered with gilding flakes.   The two tree outers and the dial were coloured with Viva Inca Gold in Lava Red Gold Green and Gold, the reindeer was coloured with the green and given golden antlers.   It was also stamped and gold ep used on the body.  The two tree inners were given a covering of green glitter.   The three blocks (thank you Hilda) were painted with Promarkers, a cake decoration was glued to the front after they were attached to the canvas.   Tando do make a set of Advent numbers but with the dial face partly through a tree they would not work in this case so a set of stickon numbers were coloured with Lava Red and used on the dial.    Lots of gems have been dotted around and glitter use on the block were the dial and tree are glued.   The snowflake is held in place by a band of acetate keeping it proud of the canvas and with added movement.

Cannot find a picture of the Advent dial set but have also used elements from.

The little house was painted yellow with Viva Croco on the roof.  The doors & windows are card shapes.  The paper is by Crafty Individuals and the other bits are from my stash!

Chipboard jewellery

Hello everyone... this is my first post as part of the Design Team and I'm really excited and grateful to Di for allowing me to join you and share some of my creations using the gorgeous Tando Creative chipboard.

At the moment I'm in painting mode (one of my more recent addictions...lol) and I was delighted to find that the coating on the chipboard takes my watercolour crayons and acrylic ...without any signs of warping ...and provides a lovely base for artwork.  So without further ado I will share with you some jewellery pieces I have made .  The first one is a pendant of a cute whimsy girl painting....

followed by a brooch featuring my interpretation of a portrait of Freda Khalo who I think was a wonderful artist....

and finally for today I am sharing a mixed media chippie brooch... this one made by throwing kitchen roll at it... ok not quite throwing... more rolling, tearing and sticking then coating with watercolour and acrylic paint before adding swirls of fabric coated wire ... but the end justified the means ;-)

Now the best bit for me is that I made all three things from the Tando Home hanger... and I still have the words and one heart left for more creating... that's cool in my eyes !!

Will share what I create with the rest at a later date... Thanks for looking :D
hugs

Cogs...

These cogs are so versatile and can be coated in so many different products.

The ones I used for the roof were painted with acryllic paint and then crackle glaze over the top, the cracks were hi-lighted using black distress ink.  The centres have Tim Holtz idealogy pieces added.... a steampunk roof!!  The house itself was a little wooden key box, which had everything thrown at it a la Carol!! really pleased with the result tho.

Scrapping - moi?

As people who know me will agree - I don't scrap! but, when I received these gorgeous music pieces I knew what I had to do...

The "music", notes and stave where all coated with viva decor glossy pen and then touched in with inka gold.  The guitars where coloured with distress ink and then rock candy stickles added.  The strings are wire and the little circle and bridge were "sprares" for my OH's jumper!!

Jigsaw Joy

There's nothing like jumping right in! Thank you Di for inviting me to join the Design Team have been a fan of Tando for a while now, its been a great thrill to see my work appearing here a thrill not likely to wear of anytime soon.

For somewhere else this week a project based on a word was needed this is my new wall hanging present for a friend in New Zealand made for that.

Have chosen to use the word Joy, needed a three letter word as there are just 3 jigsaw pieces in Tando set. Jigsaw pieces coloured with Viva Inka Gold in Lava Red. Letters (not Tando) coloured with green gold then stamped and embossed in gold with little holly leaves. The star, also Tando, coloured with silver paint. My favourite holly stamp stamped and embossed on Grungepaper, cut out and then coloured with Pro Markers. Jigsaw pieces hinged togather with brads a couple more brads and some self adhesive gems and some red wire to make the hanger.

These are the raw sets used

New Design Team Members

I would like to introduce you to our new design team members.

Zoe Sanderson

Happily single for over 30 years have the freedom to use my whole house for hobbies and interests, 3 cats and arts and crafts.
Like most crafters I've been doing this or that forever from knitting and card making as a child to cross stitch to drawing and painting and then sometime in the 1980's rubber stamping came into sight, WOW.
Falling into the category of inky fingered loving texture and dimension, my finished pieces are clearly hand made and individual.
I love working with Tando because it takes what ever you throw at it Mica sprays, pastes, glue you can stamp it big bite goes through like cutting butter the chipboard never loses shape or delaminates do long as you are gentle it will not let you down.

Chris Rowe

Hi my name is Chris and I live in the Northeast of England.  Since childhood I have had a yearning to create and this has led me on a long journey of self discovery.  I have learned that I am never happier than when I am using my hands and mind to make something beautiful.  Nothing compares with the satisfaction of seeing a piece of artwork come to life.
I am a self taught Jack of all trades… Master of none…lol  I have indulged myself by trying lots of mediums in my years of creating and in the past have enjoyed many crafts including Encaustic wax art, Scrapbooking, Card making, Stamping, Jewelry making and more recently Mixed media.  I also have a passion for sketching and have created rubber stamp designs for Elzybells and Tanda Stamps in the UK.

Angela Matheson

I am Angela and live in sunny Scotland with my hubby and 2 kids Lauren aged 10 and Gordon aged 8. We also have 2 wee Papillons called Emma and Sophie.
I have been scrapping for about 7 years now and also enjoy Card making. My other hobbies include Horse riding
I really love the Tando Design products and also stock them in my on-line shop - Angel Crafts
I am delighted to be on the Tando design team and look forward to playing with all the lovely designs!

Family minibook

I don't craft too many mini albums- too much time for too  small  space to work and I do scrap " big time"- big ,actually.. So this mini was done mainly to use these prettiest ever Fairy tales Prima line and as I have it all- 6*6'  pp, journaling spots and chipboards- it was fast and easy and really fun.
I added some Tando creative  town chipboards - aren't they cute?  They were painted and embellished and a house shape was also glazed with 3d glue. And on another page I just used this Tando creative leaf branch  with distressed paint and added a big silk flower.

Demo Day at the Craft Barn

What a fantastic day I had last Saturday at the Craft Barn.  The wonderful ladies on our design team had sent through a fabulous display of their gorgeous creations.  They really did make all the difference to the demo table.

Karen travelled all the way up from Cornwall and popped in to see me there, she very kindly took this photo.

Just an update on the Design Team call.  I was very busy last week preparing for the demo day but I think I have made a decision on the DT now.  I will announce what will be going on once I have made sure everyone has been notified.
I have to say that it has been one of the most difficult decisions I have had to make, there were so many stunning applicants.

My dad, his music, our faith lo

When I asked for these music chipboards from Tando creative for my DT work, I knew that they were for some pages about my Dad.. My father is one of the most known Israeli composers and music is his life all together with his family..
So as his 81 Birthday is pretty close I decided to use the chipboards and to make a page for him.
And as there is always a problem with me  doing clean and simple pages and my shabby style can't be so useful here- I finally did a vintage, but clean and simple lo.
I printed this photo from his book bunner on transparency, added a long title using Music title chipboard with distressed paint- blue and  a bit of green together, than painted  music notes with black acrylics.
And I think my dad will like this page ..
