Bling it up with Irit

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my Bling it Up post. 
As we are close to Christmas, I am glad to share one of my Christmas projects and this time it's a blingy ornament.

I used Tando Round frame, painted in red paint as the base of this ornament, covered on the back with patterned paper and stamped over it Holidays image.

 Then I covered Tando Star with tons of golden sparkle embossing powder. As the next step I added die cut trees and added even more glitter and red pearls over it.

It's hard to see how much glitter is over this project and it sure shine and bling!

I die cut 2 trees and then glittered them with a mix of green and gold glitter.

Then both trees were arranged over the chipboard star and some red pearls were added as " ornaments".

Bzzz.... A wooden frame of bees in Summer !

Good morning all ! That's the end of week on Winged Things, and my turn (Coco) to illustrate this theme very inspirful. As soon as I read the theme, I knew exactly which products I wanted to use: BEES !
I was really excited, I love bees and had already beautiful Bees stamps on purpose... but now I can say that I love even more Tando's ones !!!
I had for a while a pack of Bee Set Large, but no precise idea of what to do with them. Then I received the Bee Set Small, and things became obvious. I chose altering a wooden frame bought for 1 Euro in a discount shop a couple of months ago... So happy with this recycling... cheap, trendy and soooo funny!!!   

Here are some step by step instructions if it can help. I will not give them all the times but I love sharing my experience and I think it's well worth doing it today ! Hope it will inspire you something similar with these wonderful bees and honey jars !! Maybe to decorate a kid bedroom for example... (or keep it for yourselves like me hahaha).
I first covered the plain frame with a light coat of Gesso at every place visible. Then I added a bit of texture using Grunge Paste on my Tando Leaves 2 Mask and another honeycomb mask. Once dry, I started to paint the background and all sides with opaque paints (I used Dabber Willow and a bit of Dabber Lettuce). I then added layers of translucent paints afterwards here and there, and also some Treasure Gold directly using my finger on the textured parts and on the edges. I played with several shades of green paints, especially my Fresco Finish Hey Pesto and Zesty Zinc colours that are translucent - nice effect guaranteed ! -. 
To add interest, I also covered some parts with a darker green colour (Espresso Dabber), and added a thin coat of Crackled Glaze over it before painting these parts again (but let's well dry before !..) in Willow + Zesty Zinc paints... You can see the light and nice crackling effects at the bottom near the jars in particular, I love this technique that I learned from Leandra Franich during a class she made in Paris. 
  

I used one small butterfly of my Butterfly Mask and I inked it with a cut'n dry and my Distress Peeled Paint ink (you can see it on the top left side), and I also stamped some Nature words using the same ink for a tone-on-tone effect. To highlight the edges and the textured parts, I put some Treasure Gold with my finger over them. At this stage, I naively considered my background as finished !! :)

 So... I could start painting my bees and the lovely combined elements. I chose one big and two small bees, and one large honeycomb and hive from my two Tando's Bees grab bags. I used lots of paints again (mainly Haystack, Smoked Paprika and Vanilla) + Distress Pumice Stone for the shades and the funny eyelids around the eyes (aren't they cute ?!..).  I drew the wings with a thin black marker and slightly painted them, then highlighted them using a white pen for a bit of transparency. I also added the word "Honey" on the two jars in Archival Coffee and small wooden alphabet stamps.  

My Stampotique flowers and small bees were stamped in Archival Jet Black on scraps of paper, and then painted (the bees) in Haystack and Smoked Paprika - a bit watered down -, with some extra stickles for the finishing touch !

Mirror,mirror on the wall...

Helloooo, its Karen here again at last!!!  Now I started this project a few months ago and have been dipping in & out of it while involved in other things.  Its a tarted up Ikea frame I found in a charity shop for 50p....too good a bargain to miss eh?  I found that the Tando twinchies fit very neatly along the edges and, after painting & sprucing, I added lots of little Tando pieces....flowers, butterflies, frames, birds, hearts & a house.  Oh and that large frame is just perfect for the centre!

Sorry that I am in it....now I know how hard is it to photograph a mirror hahaha!!!  Thank you for taking a look....please leave a message to show you have been and don't forget the Tando Challenge will you. HUGS xxx

Bits and pieces of Tando here and there

Sometimes I collect all my " bits and pieces" made with Tando to showcase them here. There are only some small pieces of Tando on every single project, but all together you can see the strenght of those chipboards and the great final touch they add here and there.

So the first one is this mini book I did and I used the medium size Scalloped Nested Square frame

covered with White Fence crackle Ranger paint to frame my darling granson's photo.

The second one is this cute btight card made with Tando banners- again, I know. I just love them so much and they add so much interest to any paper project.

 And here are Tando pieces used here



Perfect chipboards for most unperfect photos

Sometimes we have those  really bad photos, but they are the only one we have from some most perfect day.

 My DH and I spent a fantstic day on our 28 th anniversary, but we only had this owful photo booth

 " killing" photos and one close up- even this one was bad.  Still I decided to scrap them, and Tando Scalloped Nested  Circles were just perfect. I used  three of them  according to this well known visual triangle rule, covered with Ranger Tattered Rose crackle paint. Then one single arrow from the Arrows grab  bag was added, covered with Ranger white enamel paint and my non perfect photos had their most perfect framing. thanks to Tando pieces.

So go and scrap your bad photos if those are the best one you have from some great day spent!
You will love the final result after all.

ROUND MULTI-FRAME

Hi!  its Karen here!  Haven't there been some amazing examples of what you can do with the multi-frames?  I have been working on the round one and have tried to do something a little different with it.  I hope that the Boss doesn't mind that I discarded the stand, but I thought it would look pretty hanging up xxxx 

After covering the frame with gesso, I tried watersoluble wax crayons on it and I quite like the shabby look it gives.  Tando chippie can take all kinds of abuse & I used a fair bit of water hahaha!

All the objects in the little apertures tell something about me which I will explain more on my own blog.  Spot the teensy Tando chippie on there???  Here is what the blank looks like...

A gorgeous frame by Sue

Making it Merry

Another gorgeous piece by Hels today.  This is one of our small frames complete with it's own stand.  These come in a variety of shapes, hexagonal, octagonal, square, square clipped, oval and round.  They are so versatile and can be used for a whole host of things.

Janet's frame.....

Framing it.....

OCTAGONAL FRAME

Hi, its Karen here with a little prettiness to offer you!  This time I have been playing with the lovely little octagonal frame.  It has a lovely wiggly inner edge and come with its own flat packed stand which has a couple of gorgeous hearts on the ends!

Firstly I painted the whole lot with gesso and then some periwinkle acrylic paint.  I saw a lovely technique in this months Craft Stamper that I wanted to have a go at so that came next!  Its to make a crackle apearance just using PVA and paint...simples haha! I have awful trouble with crackle accents and the like so am delighted with this result...

In the centre I used a favourite stamp of Ophelia and then just added a bouquet & ribbon.  Thanks for looking today. HUGS XXX

Square clipped frame.....

I'm able to show this now as a really dear friend of mine has received it so I don't need to keep it hush hush anymore.

I have used one of our Square Clipped Frames and also a couple of elements from our small Kitchen set.

I've used one of my fave techniques using texture paste and stamping, painting the frame with black acrylic and using some fabulous Viva Decor metallic silver paint.

The phrase has been manipulated in Word and printed onto some patterned paper.  I then added the chefs hat, covered in glossy accents and painted and used GA on the knife and fork.

OVAL FRAME

Helloooo, its Karen here today!  I have been playing with the very pretty OVAL FRAME.  This one has a very pretty little stand that is very easy to put together.  I love the way the little stand slots together to form a pair of hearts!  Here it is nekkid hehe...

I have kept my frame fairly plain for this project as I had just the right picture for it to give as a gift.  The photograph is of my daughter and her fiance and I love the colours in it.  First I glued string all around the inside and outside edges.  Then I painted glue inbetween and added in some micro beads.

When it was dry I painted the whole thing with gold acrylic paint.  I treated the little heart shapes on the stand the same way.  Where there was a 'join' in the string I added some ribbon, some beads & a love charm to match my daughters hair!!!

KARENS FRAMES - PART 2

Hi, its Karen here with the 2nd lot of my frames!  These are fabby liitle frames as you can use them on any project to add an accent!  Here are the ones I used today...

For the Double Arch frame I just painted it with Distress Inks then spritzed with gold glimmer mists.  Its been mounted on a little recycled chocolate box that was already covered in gorgeous papers!  I added some leaves & roses and put the tiddly push out hearts onto wires.  Though they do look a bit like antennae hahaa

I did the same treatment on the 5 Hearts frame too but this time used it on a card...

Lastly comes the little Arch frame...I think this is my favourite!  I have embossed this one with gold and added it to a tealight holder, along with some white embossed stamped images...
