Deck The Halls Wall Hanging
Dana here today sharing a fun and festive wall hanging for the Deck The Halls theme this week. I created this wall hanging by mixing two non-holiday paper collections and using a chipboard album page as the base. I embellished this piece with flowers, stickers, ribbon, festive greenery and some gorgeous Tando Leaf Branches.
I colored my leaves with Dylusions Fresh Lime Ink Spray and Tattered Angels Blizzard Glimmer Glam. This leaf set comes with leaf branches in two sizes, as well as loose leaves in several sizes, and is available in both greyboard and white-lined board.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Homemade Decorations
This weeks theme on our blog is 'Deck the Halls'...which made me think of this photo - from time to time my kids make decorations at school which have pride of place on our Christmas tree, so the photo is of my sons penguin.
I started the page using the 5 snowflakes mask - which are great as you can get 2 different effects with it all in one mask, I used white gesso and scraped it through the snowflake mask, then I used the snowflakes that pop out the centre of the masks, scattered them around my page and spritzed them with white glimmer mist.
My favourite thing to do with the mini reindeer is ink them brown and then cover them with glossy accents layering them up with paper and stickers.
The other thing that I really love about chipboard is it is far easier to cover up your mistakes or things that you don't like on it. So my holly branch started off by being coloured in with pro markers and then covered in glossy accents, but it didn't really go with the painty feeling of my page, so I then covered it in gesso and then crackle paint and got some lovely crackles. Still not sure about it as I missed all the colour so I then water coloured over the top with red and green distress ink!

Advent Calendar with All is Bright
I love the octagonal Advent calendar and I have seen so many beautiful ones this week and across the web, even my kids were desperate to have one of these in our house (not only because of the chocolate it will contain :)). In fact my youngest helped me cover the main tree structure with old book paper - so I had an extra special helper for this!
Once I had covered the frame with the book paper I then gave it a wash of PVA and acrylic mixed together, I also used that same paint/pva combination to paint the draws. Once that was all done I made myself 3 little templates for the different drawer sizes. I used loads of different items to decorate the drawers trying to make them all a bit different and the lovely mini bags of reindeers, snowflakes, stars and stockings were perfect. I used part of the stocking to make crowns, and then embossed the rest with a glittery embossing powder, I covered the reindeer in brown ink and then a layer of glossy accents, then used white embossing powder on the snowflakes and silver for the stars.
I have lots of pictures so here are a few more.

Christmas Countdown by Kaz
For my Christmas Countdown, I am revisiting a kit that was first released in 2009 as a class on UKScrappers. The class made this into a framed countdown, but I have used a 12 x 12 inch canvas board for mine.
I started off by using the ~{Set of 5 Snowflakes Masks}~ with texture paste across the base board. I also scraped the extra texture paste over the board to give an uneven finish. Once this was dry I used acrylic paints over the whole base blending white with pale blue. Once this was dry I smudged a little oil pastel over the snowflake only to add detail and then smudged some glitter glue over that. The base itself was finished with inky snowflakes and edging.
I punched out white card and stamped the numbers onto them.
The trees have been painted with acrylic paint and the edges inked. I replaced the centres and added some Viva Decor Glitter Pen for detail.
The centre piece is again painted with acrylic paints and I stamped and embossed the snowflakes in white. I've doodled borders and added a snowflake from the ~{Tando Minis Snowflakes}~ and a plain circle from ~{Grab Bag of Circles}~. On the ~{original}~ one, ~{Di}~ had used an acrylic overlay for the numbers, but as I was using a dial outside, I punched a hole through the far end of the pointer and fixed that with a brad. The pointer is painted in silver and has a big dollop of GA on it!
I went on the hunt for some letters and found these grungeboard ones. My grungeboard hasn't seen the light of day for YEARS!!! I painted them with acrylic paint and then gently tapped my silver inkpad over them so that they look a bit aged.
Everything has been fixed in place with silicone glue.

Festive Decor
Hello my dears! How are you all getting on with Christmas crafting? We are all about HOME DECOR for this week and with Christmas in mind (its my turn to host this year haha) I looked to doing something for the festive table. I found 4 of those plain round wooden napkin rings in a charity shop for 50p...what a bargain eh!!!
I painted them with a light coat of old gold acrylic and then heat embossed gold around the edges. I used 4 little stockings from the Tando Mini Range. This is a fabulous range. The chipboard is a lot thinner and suitable for putting onto cards, into journals and just about everything else. You get so many in a pack too! The main parts of the stockings have been painted red then crackle accented and the tops have been covered with fine white glitter. The 'stuff' behind it is cut from a big snowflake decoration that I found in B&Q :D.
Have fun with your Christmasy makes, HUGS, Karen xxx

Home Decor - Gift Box
For the home decor theme I decided to create a little gift or keepsake box. I can't remember what the box was used for originally but it was one of those that you hang on to as it might come in handy - I painted it gold, then added crackle paint and a coat of white. I layered up a mixture of prima flowers, hand made flowers and butterflies upon some burlap along with several embossed tando chipboard pieces. I included some chipboard lace that I had left over from my Works of Parts kit, mini keys and a compass - all of which I embossed with silver powder and slotted them along with the piles of flowers and butterflies. Apart from waiting for the paint to dry it was a fairly quick project to put together and will add something to any gift....or I could always pop a mini album in it!
