Crackle Paste Butterfly Plaque

Hello!

This week on the Tando Creative Blog the theme is crackle paste or glaze, so I decided to create a textured tag using one of the grey board tags by Kate Crane along with some other Tando grey board pieces and crackle paste...

After preparing all of the pieces with white gesso I stuck down the grid round background and some pieces of corrugated card and then added Decoart crackle paste to the background as well as on top of the butterfly and leaf...

Once the crackle had dried I used spray inks to colour the background, butterfly and leaf.  I sprayed so much liquid onto the leaf that it actually split into 3 separate layers, this worked out as a happy accident as I then decorated them all differently and used 3 leaves instead of 1...

Gold gilding wax was added to all the pieces and also the background where the texture and crackle was.  Stamping from the Andy Skinner set was added to the background and pieces as well as some white gesso using plastic lids and gift cards...

Finally paper flowers were added along with the butterfly and leaves.  To add extra definition I edged the main tag plus the other pieces with black ink and finished the whole project off with some sentiment stickers.

Here are the products that I used...

* Kate Crane Tags Kit
* Butterfly Grab Bag
* Leaves Pointed
* Grid Round
* Decoart Crackle Paste
* Andy Skinner - Steampunk Stamp Set

Thank you for looking and happy crafting with your crackle!
