Crackle Week - Bee Kind Binder

Hi all, Hannah here with another book binder project!

As the days get longer, and the weather a little warmer - thoughts turn to Spring projects! Crackle week gave me the perfect inspiration to try out some more paper techniques.

The new Tando Creative binders with bendy spines make for the perfect journals. They are designed to fit Tandos 100mm x 100mm stencils too!

Here I have layered up DecoArt Chalky Finish paints in a grungy palette, introducing greens and golds to lift the colours.

I selected patterns papers depicting bees and added these in torn strips to the covers before adding a layer of DecoArt Crackle Glaze over the papers.

To draw the layers together I added honeycomb and more bee details, and added a gold boarder to the edges.

The crackle glaze adds a vintage, weather worn look to the papers, DecoArt Antiquing Cream highlights the crackled effect further.

If you don't what a high shine finish to your glaze, a layer of DecoArt Matte Medium gives a great even finish to the covers. A layer of DecoArt Interference Gold adds a shimmer and shine!

To finish I added coordinating papers to the inside.

I hope you enjoy this project and I look forward to sharing more with you.
