ART: Home decor with Irit

Hello my dear crafty friends! Irit is here today with my home deco  project.  I decided to alter those old, like 2 years old, wooden letters and I even made a small tutorial for you. Easy and fun and all you need are some great Tando stencils!

Product list:
Tando masks:
 Giovanna- Alphabet
Giovanna- Profile
 Giovanna - Eighties
Clock
Long flourish
ESF Gesso, Texture paste, chalk paints
Stamps: Rubber Dance
Ink: Ranger
Sand paper
Wooden letters

I used texture paste, chalk paints over it and stamped the letters to fir this Naural (A), Creative (R) and Timeless (T) concepts for my wall art letters.

If you like 3d look you can add more embellishments over the letters, such as flowers, chipboards, bling etc. I decided that I like it the way it is: flat and possible to clean.
Hope you liked my ART letters and see you soon again!

Crackle week with Irit: Life is wonderful

 Hello my dear crafty friends!
Irit is here and this is my altered canvas made with a lot of Tando stencils only  and a whole jar of DecoArt  one step crackle medium.
First I made all  images with texture paste and the following Tando stencils:
Profile
Giovanna - Profile

Bird and branch

Bird and Branch Mask
Have you say
A Skinner Stencil/Mask - Have Your Say

Harlequin
Harlequin Mask

Long flourish
Mask - Long Flourish

Then all piece was heavy painted and misted using DecoArt  paints and self made mists.
I painted inside the images with acrylics and let it dry for a very long time.
The dry canvas was covered with a  heavy layer of crackle medium and then went to " sleep"  over night. The crackles were easy shown in the morning, but I added another mists and paints layer to make it really significant.
One stamped over tissue sentiment was glued over the piece and I really lover this crackled result.
Hope you like it too.

February colors with Irit

Hello my dear crafty friends!
Irit is here with my project made for our February color swatches.

Last year I picked a word for my crafty life. The word was DARE.
I think I followed this word in my crafting and dared to try things I never did before. Some of those things were successful, some  were less, but at least I tried hard to follow my path.
The only thing I didn't try last year was a real art journalling. I didn't even have a real journal to work with.
I have one now and today I want to share with you my very first art journal double spread with this so obvious title : DARE.
I am not sure if this is the way art journal should look, but it's my journal and my way of art expression, so I think I like it this way.
I made the background with lots of mediums, paper pieces, mesh, tapes and a lot of stencils used with texture paste.
I stamped with Rubber Dance background stamps and added the main sentiment using Think Again set.
The word Dare was made with stencil and black ink. The eyes are the main issue over this page: my vision of things I dared to try last 2014 year.

I used those " mute" pastel colors just for one major reason: I was afraid to make too many mistakes with dark colors. With light ones the repair is easy (some gesso and it's all done).
I really hope I am on the right way with my new art journal adventure.
Please be gentle with me! I dare, but I do make mistakes. We all do. And we grow within all own mistakes.

Anything goes with Irit : Be true to yourself

 Hello my dear crafty friends!
Irit is here again and this time with a Mixed Media medium size canvas made with Tando new masks all over the project.
I used  Giovanna Alphabet mask for the borders and the words" Be True" with texture paste and then misted the paste with mists and watercolours.
Ten I made the focal image with Giovanna's Profile mask  just the same way.
Both mask are just perfect for canvases and can be used with a lot of different mediums.
