A handy storage solution

Really taken with this Tando Chipboard desk tidy kit, it's a fairly new release from Tando and I was very keen to have a play.   The Masks are even newer and proving to be very popular, thought it would be fun to make this a little retro bag.

This was fun with Cosmic Shimmer sprays, black Gesso and stenciling with Silver Pigment Ink.  Now I've something else to keep things to hand and tidy in.

Splat!!

Another batch of new masks has just been released and I couldn't wait to get inky with the ~{Splatters}~ one. One on it's own looks fab as a 'layer' on a greetings card.

I've used Broken China and Faded Jeans Distress Inks over a masked stamped image for this speedy card.

Kids wall deco

Vintage style Kids Wall Deco made with Tando Creative 4 Large Journaling  chipboard tags and October Afternoon paper line- the tags  were just perfect for those images and the paper style,
I used my Crop A Dile to make some holes and used  Tim Holtz ball chaines to connect the pieces

Two more gorgeous layouts from Kirsty today.  The Tando flourish in this layout works really well, I love it.

 

The next layout uses our butterflies beautifully.

And finally the addition of the little bird and branch is fabulous in this layout.

Bookplates

I just love the Tando Creative bookplates - they come in two different sizes, small and large.  In previous projects I've used the small bookplates, but, this time I've used a large one.

The base of the book is chipboard which was covered with patterened paper and had tissue tape added before being painted and stamped.  The large frame was coloured using distress ink then overstamped with black ink, crackle glaze was added and left overnight - the cracks were then hi-lighted using distress ink.

Chopping up chipboard

After spending time with Di at a crafty retreat and seeing what she does, I've decided to be brave and chop bits of chipboard. I don't know why I didn't do it before as I often use little parts of stamps.
You will need a sharp scalpel as this is sturdy chipboard, but it cuts a dream and the edges don't fray or split.

I've used the ~{Harlequin Mask}~ on the base of the canvas with spray paint, something that hasn't always been successful, but these masks have worked really well for me. It laid perfectly flat with no gaps.

I took a butterfly from the ~{Butterfly Grab Bag}~ and chopped it's lower wings off - cruel aren't I? I embossed it using a symmetrical part of a Tim Holtz folder and then painted it.
Next I chopped the individual flowers from the ~{75mm Floral Row}~ and painted them with acrylic paint, then doodled them before sticking them and filling the centres with Viva Decor Gloss Gel.
