Hearts Card Colour Theme

For this month's colour theme, I made a card for my dad for Father's Day:

I painted 3 hearts from the {Hearts Grab Bag} with DecoArt Acrylic Paint and used the {Mish Mesh Stamp Set} to add detail using embossing powder.

For the card base I used the circles from {Tree and Leaves 3 Part Stencil} to go around the edge of the patterned paper.

I finished off with a stamped greeting.

July's Colour Theme

Welcome to the start of this months colour theme week!  I am, of course, adding to my banner and have decorated another pennant. Because last months was quite bold I have used the softer tones of the range this time...

Just look at these lovely summery colours....

I attached some bits and pieces to my pennant before painting it using a light touch.  I added some painted stars for a bit of detail.

Antiquing with Lisa

Hi folks, Lisa here and welcome to my post for Tando Creative. This week's theme is "Antiquing".

I used on of the Tando mixed media long tags and a couple of the Tando 4 x 4 mini masks for this creation. 


Here is my creation...

First, I painted the tag with DecoArt white Gesso. When it was dry I used the 'fragile' mask with DecoArt white modelling paste across the centre of the tag and used the 'clock' mask again with the white modelling paste on the top and bottom of the tag.

I then added some DecoArt texture sand paste in random areas and round the edges of the tag. And used the DecoArt crackle paint over the top of the 'fragile' area of the tag.

I painted the tag using DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics. 

I added some DecoArt black Antiquing Creme to emphasis the cracks made with the crackle paint on the 'fragile' part of the tag.

I used a texture stamp and black ink to add some texture around the outside of the tag.

To finish, I used some netting, which I painted and added to the top of the tag.

Sunderland Clock Tag

Hi folks Dee here with my latest post this week the Theme is antiquing cream 

I decided to do a tag with of coarse many layers, I  used Deco Art  antiquing

creams in four colours.

I started with home made tissue paper which I stamped with various stamps

which I adhered to the tag with Matt medium. Next modelling paste was

 put through the distressed harlequin, Sunderland post code &

the criss cross mini stencil.

A watery wash of tinting base followed by Raw Umber and Prussian blue hue

sprayed with water once happy with the result I dried it all off.

I painted a Tando circle with titan buff and stamped the

 clock stamp on it with archival.

Once it was dry gives a coat of patina Antiquing cream knocked back and 

followed with a bit of raw umber antiquing cream and a touch of black 

knocked back till I was happy with the result. A coat of gloss 

varnish finished of the face a bit of Deco art ferro was 

used around the edges.

The main tag was given a coat of ultra matt varnish this was allowed to dry prior

to applying patina antiquing cream. I knocked it back with a soft towel next 

came a coat of Raw Umber antiquing cream, finally black antiquing cream.

this was all knocked back till I was happy again ultra matt was used

and finally a coat of white antiquing cream.

Deco Art Ferro was applied to the base of the tag with a palette knife and a
bolt was glued to the top of the tag. A bit of rust dripping
was created with quinacridone gold.

Antique art board with Irit

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my last Tando project for June.

This is our Antiquing week in the blog and I think that this altered project looks totally antique.

I made the background with a few Tando stencils and black modelling paste and you can see list later in this post.

Then I misted the background and got this divine textured look with golds, coppers and silvers all around.

One single part of Tando rectangle tray was added over the background and then I arranged more Tando chipboards together with a lot of metal pieces to make the whole Steampunk board.

 I think that my flying scull looks just perfect with all those antique colors.

Antiqued Winged Heart Mixed Media Board

Hi! Dana here today sharing a Mixed Media Board that I altered for the Antiquing theme this week. I love working with Tando chipboard for many reasons, but today I'm really celebrating the strength of these boards. I added two large pieces of brass, plus other embellishments, to this board without any structural issues like bending, cracking, or breaking! If you're looking for strong bases for your mixed media and assemblage projects I highly recommend Tando Mixed Media Boards. These boards also look fantastic when embossed and they'll hold up to punching.

I applied a base coat of metallic paint to the board and then prepped two brass pieces from the Lisa Marie Jimenez Etsy Store for painting by cleaning with rubbing alcohol. I painted the decorative rectangular brass piece with Pacific Ocean and Verdigris ColoriQue. Once the paint was dry I sanded the brass for a distressed look.

I glued the decorative brass piece to the board and then topped it with the 7gypsies Architextures Findings Angel Wings Embellishments. Next, I painted a decorative brass heart with Ruby Slippers, Avocado, and Wisteria ColoriQue. Once the paint was dry, I sanded the brass for a distressed finish and then glued it down on top of the wings.

To complete these piece I added a metal arrow charm and a twine bow to the center of the heart.

ColoriQue is a fabulous ink that brings color to metal, but also so much more. There is absolutely no prep work or special tools required to apply ColoriQue to most metal, raw brass being the exception, which needs a quick cleaning with alcohol before coloring.
