Same but different - take 2

Hi, Carol with you today sharing my "same but different" shrine make.

Here is the shrine

and here is my finished piece:-

The base pieces were painted, stamped and stencilled before being adhered.  Three birds from the whimsical birds 2 set  were painted with the same colour ways before being added to the shrine.  Pieces of hessian were added inside as "bedding straw" lol

We hope to see you again tomorrow for another shrine make.

Anything Goes Week!

Hi people!  I am here to start our 'Anything Goes' week where we all work on the same project.  Its lovely to see what other people do with the same piece...I hope you enjoy!  We are all working on the very versatile SHRINE this time.

For mine I have gone down the 'nature' route.

I know it looks a little gloomy in there but I wanted to create a 'deep in the woods' feel to my piece.

I painted all the pieces before glueing them together.  (The rooves were run through an embossing folder first)

I painted a picture on the inside.

After I had attached the roof I added lots of Tando elements to the basic shrine ...

Mini Reindeer
Mini Rabbits
Mini Owl
Fir tree
Leaf Flourish

Thank you for popping by today and enjoy looking at what the DT have done this week , Karen x

October Colour Theme - Autumn Leaves

It's another colour theme week here on the Tando Blog. This months colours are inspired by the gorgeous colours of autumn, rich browns and oranges we are lucky to enjoy at this time of year.

Taking my lead from nature I have created this tag.

Here I have textured one of Tando's Mixed Media Boards using a woodgrain embossing folder, then painted it in various brown hues, before dry brushing this piece with a lighter colour to highlight the texture.

I have added the Tando Leaf embellishments. To give the an autumnal vibe they have been pained with a mix of DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics in Green Gold, Raw Umber, Yellow Oxide and Pyrrol Orange.

Using a fine brush layers of the different colours have been added and blended to give a natural feel.

The loose leaves in the pack have been painted in slightly darker tones to give the impression that they have already fallen from the branches.

Autumnal Memories Wreath

Hello!

Jane here today with my take on this weeks colour challenge...

I love the colours of autumn particularly the way the leaves look so beautiful as they change colour so I felt I had to make a leafy project...

I started with a Tando wreath shape and decided to make it into something that could be a piece of home décor, maybe for someone in a new home, so I used one of the whimsical houses set 2 alongside leaves from the mini sets 2 and 3 and the memories word.

After coating all the pieces with gesso I used the Tando mini stencil leaves 1 with some modelling paste all around the wreath.  I then used Decoart Media acrylics to create a blended look across the wreath then used the colours to paint the rest of the pieces (titan buff, diarylide yellow, hansa yellow light, pyrole orange, quinacridone magenta and burnt umber)...

These were then stamped with the Dinkie Script stamp from IndigoBlu using sepia archival ink and then gold gilding wax was added.

For the house I first embossed the main part in a stone wall embossing folder then painted the pieces and gilded...

Once it had all been placed and stuck down I added some gems for a bit of sparkle then flicked the whole piece with watered down gold paint to tie it all together...

The products used were as follows, you can click on them to link to a more detailed product description...

* Whimsical Houses Shape 2
* Memories Word
* Minis - Leaves 2
* Minis - Leaves 3
* Leaves 1 4" x 4" stencil

Thank you for reading and I hope that it has ignited your love of autumn!

Happy Crafting,

Jane xx

October colour theme

Hi there!!!  The October colour theme is all Autumnal but when I looked at it my first thought was Africa.  A bit strange you may ask but I went with it for my banner section.  I have also kept this one fairly simple which I needed to work in with the other sections I have done...

Just a bit of painting and stamping this time.  The colours.....

Crackle Heart by Gez

Hi, Good morning!

I am delighted to be sharing my journal page with you today featuring a crackle heart.

The journal page background was created using various acrylic paints available [HERE] the [Sequin Waste Mask], washi tape and bottle top lids!

I used a heart from the grab bag of hearts available [HERE]

as the main feature by giving it first a coating of pink acrylic paint, whilst it was still wet I sprinkled some fragments from the white and silver [Frantage kits]
 Then gave it a quick blast with my heat gun..

 click to enlarge..

I then painted the whole heart with a generous thick coating of [DecoArt Media clear crackle glaze] and waited for the magic to happen!

Here is my finished page..

Thank you for calling and leaving a message if you get the chance.
Happy creating, Gez ♥
