Emboss your storage with Lisa

Welcome to Tando on Sunday with Lisa,
hope you're all having lovely weekend.

This weeks theme is 'use an embossing folder'. I decide to use Tando's stencils to emboss rather than a folder and I used the Tando 3D bird house desk storage to decorate the embossed pieces.

Here is what I came up with...

I used the Tando letters mask to emboss the sides of the house and the Tando grid - round to emboss the roofs.

Here is what I used. You can get everything from the Tando Website.

Lots of love, Lisa xxx

Halloween Use an embossing folder with Dee

Hi everyone this is the first of three post's with my favourite topic
Halloween by the end of the month you will have
seen all three and hopefully you will have
joined in with us.
Warning!!!
This piece is very over the top.
I used as always the very versatile mixed media board's for
this project. I did put it through my machine and it did
work but the plates weren't to happy and it did bend them.
I don't think you should do this so if you emboss a heavy weight
card then glue it onto the media board
with deco page glue. this could work even better as you could
rough up and tear the edges to give a grungy look.

(Please see the footnote at the end of this post regarding using an embossing folder).

Next i coloured it with Deco art paints in various colours and
highlighted antiquing cream & with treasure gold.

I had a strip of stamped card that had been colour washed with
Deco art. I used this as a banner across the board.

I tripple embossed black card with gold embossing powder
and stamped the skull into while still hot.
Be careful not to burn yourself!!!

The butterfly was stamped on to white card and coloured
with distress inks.
Close up's
More photo's
I sometimes us alcohol inks to colour the embossed pieces.
I really love this butterfly stamp.
That's it hope the photo's didn't bore you and that you like the piece.
Why not join in with us and show us what you can do
with an embossing folder.

PRODUCTS USED

  1. Tando Creative Mixed Media Boards 80mm x 116mm
  2. Deco Art media fluid acrylics

Just a footnote to this post.  Dee has quite rightly given her accurate account when using the board through an embossing folder.  However, it has been done very successfully so please do experiment yourself before making up your mind.  Adjusting the thickness of the carrier plates will give you a good result without damaging the plates.

Use embossing folder to say Hi with Irit

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to our Use embossing folder week.
I need to say that Tando chipboards are perfect to be dry embossed  with embossing folder and you can see the result of  this on my embossed tag.

I used Tando package backing as my tag base and dry embossed it with Cuttelbug folder.
Just perfect " green" use of the grey package as your Tando supplies.
Then I just inked it with a mix of distress inks.
Another dry embossing made here was of the  chipboard flower and the inside circles of this set.
This time I was afraid to use Cuttelbug folder, but was sure about Sizzix Tim Holtz one and I was right: it works perfect over Tando chippies.
I inked the chippies and arranged this " HI" tag that I really hope you like.

Dry Embossed Halloween ATC

Hi friends! Dana here today sharing the ATC that I created for the Embossing Folder Challenge this week. I really enjoy Halloween crafting, so I'm making the most of it this month with this second creepy card! I put an ATC into a butterfly embossing folder and ran it through my Cuttlebug. I then colored the ATC with orange ink, outlined the butterflies with a black pen, and then lightly sanded the raised butterflies to help them pop.

For the second layer of this card, I stamped and colored a Butterfly and then topped it with a skeleton.

I finished this card with a sentiment sticker and a coat of Rock Candy Stickles.

You can find Artist Trading Cards and more in the Tando Creative Retail Store! We'd love to see what you create with chipboard and an embossing folder! Embossing week

Hello and its the start of another week!  This week we are looking at embossing folders.  Did you know that Tando Chipboard can go through your embossing folders?  The folders can create a whole new genre to play with.  You can also use our MASK/STENCILS as embossing folders, which is what I have done here.  I used the *snowflake mask* to create a Christmas card...well a few actually :-D

Not sure if you can see that this is embossed in the picture.  I covered the mask with embossing ink before running it through my Big Shot and embossing.  Then I hunted own my gold Perfect Pearls and added it with a soft brush (it only sticks to the embossing ink).  I roughened up the edges and mounted the piece onto some fancy paper before attaching it to the card base.  A ribbon and sentiment finished it off.  Oh and some clear glitter as its Christmas!!!!

Do pop back to see what the rest of the DT have made.  In the meantime if you would like to play along with us please do!  Take a look at this months tab at the top of the page for the link.  You can follow any of our themes and could win a lovely prize!

Thank you for looking today, Hugs, Karen x

October Color Challenge: Flutter ATC

Hi friends! Dana here today sharing an ATC that I created for the Color Theme this week. I love moths and butterflies and am sometimes fortunate enough to find them in my yard. While most of them are still fluttering around, I do, on occasion, find them after their life has ended; just a piece of a delicate wing, or mostly intact, like this beauty. This card may be a bit too creepy for some, but in the spirit of October and the upcoming Halloween festivities, I decided to embrace this moth and immortalize this specimen forever under a coat of glaze.

I used Gelatos and water to create the ombre background on this ATC. I then wound some rusted wire into a circle and secured it to the ATC with washi tape. I placed the moth in the center of the wire circle and covered the entire card with a thick layer of glaze. Just one of the brilliant qualities about Tando chipboard is the strength and weight. I fearlessly covered this ATC with nearly a quarter cup of glaze (about 2 ounces) and let it dry overnight without worry that the chipboard would become saturated or warp.

In addition to this gorgeous color palette, I was also inspired by some lyrics from Chris Cornell's song Flutter Girl:

I'm drinking dust
With eyes of rust
Tonight my tears might stain your wings
So flutter home
'Cause you're better off alone than with me
