Decorated shelf

Hi there!  We have another 'Anything Goes' week for you where the Design Team have done projects which don't quite fit into our other weekly themes.

I am kick-starting the week off with a decorated BOOKCASE/ shelf unit.  I love these and have done a fair few of these in the past.  They are around 11inches long and are designed for CD's but are also brilliant for mini books!  This little MDF shelf is also a BARGAIN at £3.99!!!!

I have painted it with 2 blue tones of Fresco chalk paint and then stencilled using the SEQUIN WASTE MASK .  I used the whole stencil so that I had varying sizes of dots.  The flowers have been stamped and paper pieced. Then I went around the edges with a toning colour.

The mask I used...such a handy one to have...

Thank you for popping by today, take care xxx

Animal Week!

Hello, its Karen here and I am kicking off ANIMAL WEEK today with my favourite mammal..... just has to be the elephant in my eyes....such wonderful creatures.  We can all learn so much from them.  I have used Karen's Elephant (yes that's me) from the ZOO SET LARGE to make up one of Tando's LARGE ARCHES into a wall hanging.  These arches measure approx. 7inches high so are a good size to work on and come in a pack of two for under £2....bargain!

To make the background I covered it with bits of an old book page before sloshing on the paint.  Then I used the SEQUIN WASTE MASK/STENCIL to add some large dots which I quickly drew around with a white pen.  The elephant has been painted with two layers of paint and, while it was still damp, dabbed with some paper towel.  All the edges have been coloured with some chocolate paint.

Here are the TANDO CREATIVE goodies that  used:

Making Something Useful

Hello, just because something has a purpose and is useful and practical doesn't mean that it has to be dull :-D  I have used lots of bright colours on this project and it will make me smile every time I reach for a pen!!!!  Especially as it will sit on my craft desk!  I have decorated the new-this-year TRIPLE BIRDHOUSE/DESKTOP STORAGE (look *here* for my project this week....

This has all been coloured with acrylic paints.  On the end roof pieces I used the SEQUIN MASK with paint through.  But I do see that I forgot the inside orange roofs...ooops!  I also added 3 little painted hearts from the TANDO MINI HEARTS bag and lots of doodling to finish the houses off.

Thank you for looking, have fun in what you do, Karen xxx

All Dotty

With this weeks theme on dots I went straight to my sequin waste mark - I rubbed some chalk inks through it in pink and blue and used them as little bits of paper within my circles - as I handout all those circles I added some doodling to distract from the fact that they are not perfect..and doodled around the polka dots too!

I also added a little Tando chipboard camera as it went perfectly with the photo, as I don't have a grey pro marker I just coloured it in with pencil (as the cameras on the paper are outlined in grey) which adds a really soft effect to the chipboard.

A layout "Tiger or Butterfly... ?" - Free For All Week

Hi all ! Our "Free For All" weeks are a good way to showcase what we have done with our Tando stash that is not specific to any themed week. :)  This time, I chose to share with you a second page I made as guest DT for capdescrapperça, the French blog I talked about in my earlier post.
On this page I used only one Tando chipboard, but it's among my favorites, coming from my Butterfly Grab Bag. I love Tando's mini grab bags with their mix of different shapes and/or sizes on a theme... and these butterflies make fabulous embellishments, I could quite easy fit several of them on any page or project ! For my page I used one that by luck perfectly follows the lines of the mini Butterfly die I have from Sizzix ! I just inked the wings with my Distress Squeezed Lemonade, enhancing the colour on the edges, and in the middle I applied pink ink (Picked Rasberry).

And now for the anecdote, let's me tell you how I made the background of this page as I think it's well worth knowing... I often print myself the photos when I need some for scrapbooking. This time, I made a mistake and first printed my photo on the bad (not glossy) side. Oops, UGLY result haha !!! Of course, I printed it again on the good side immediately. But by mere coincidence I didn't throw out the bad one... And the day after, ready to start my page, I spilled a drop of water on it and saw that my printed inks haven't dried at all ! So I decided to totally spray the photo and wiped it all over my page using some masks (including Sequin Waste) and trying to put the blue ink diagonally. No waste at all like that tee-hee !!! You can see the leftovers of the ugly photo under the good one, both were torn up to fit the sketch from Scrapouillon I had to follow  (I rotated it a quarter turn on the left).
Sketch1

It looks like my messy and dirty page suits well the sketch, doesn't it haha?.. Enjoy your day, and please come back tomorrow to look at another fab "free for all" make from fellow teammate. And don't forget our Leaf challenge running here ! Crafty hugs, Coco xxx

"Pou-Poule !" - Summer Holidays

Hi Tando fans ! I'm sneaking in very last minute here this morning before leaving for a few days hols, playing with you along the new Tando's theme this week...: Summer Holidays.
For the occasion I made a funny tag I really love !!

For my tag I used a flower Foam Stamp from Donna Downey on the background with several layers of paints and Gesso on it !; some Stampotique stamps I love, and my Tando masks Sequin Waste and Dotted Star designed by teammate Kaz, I highly recommend you as it offers many possibilities !!!. I used this latter to highlight in Snowflake white paint all the edges at the end.

And what's about the theme of Summer holidays, could you say ??... I was really inspired by "Pou-Poule !", a children's book borrowed by my twins at our public library. I loved the story of this young lovesick hen... Pou-poule is an adorable chick with a sweet heart ! So first, the ground on book's cover is colored in a warm and summery orange... And Secondly, this book... Reading... I take time to read books only during Summer Holidays ! (hem... I know it's not enough, but how could I have time to read with all my crafty works planned for Tando now Arghhh LOL!)

I don't resist to show you the true Pou-Poule, as she has largely inspired my work haha !!!

I used:

Hope I made you smile a little bit today... Thank you very much for looking ! Don't forget to keep coming back during the week to see what the rest of the team have made.
