Halloween: Skeleton Tag

Boo Halloween Skeleton Tag by Dana Tatar for Tando Creative

Hi! Dana here today sharing the tag I created for the Halloween theme this week. I started this project by a stenciling and embossing a bat pattern onto a black tag. I used a coffin from the Pair of Skeletons set as a fun second layer. I covered the chipboard coffin with black crackle paint and then a layer of Stampendous Spoonful of Midnight.

Glitter Chipboard Coffin and Bat by Dana Tatar for Tando Creative

I'm really dating myself using a fun piece of Halloween patterned paper from Creative Imaginations! I absolutely love the dressed up skull. I embellished the highlights in her hair with glitter glue and then added a small bat, from the Tando Minis Mixed Halloween Set, that I sprayed with Tattered Angels Black Magic Glimmer Mist, which is a wonderful combination of black ink and gold shimmer. I added two green rhinestones for the eyes.

I created a colorful flower cluster for the bottom of the tag. I tucked half of a mini spider web, also from the Mixed Halloween Set, under the flower petals.

You can find the products I used for this project in the Tando Creative Retail Store. We'd love to see your creativity! Share your work with us in Tando's Creative Zone on Facebook.

Spooky Tag

Hi friends! Dana here today sharing a Halloween tag for the Spooky theme this week. I used a coffin from the Pair of Skeletons set as a sturdy base for this tag. I covered the chipboard with black crackle paint and then a layer of Stampendous Spoonful of Midnight. (This was the first time I used the Spoonful of Midnight and I absolutely love the multicolored sparkle! It will be hard not keep this wonderful medium off of all my projects!) I added a pop of color with some orange roses and green and purple leaves. I then topped the coffin with a skeleton.

I punched a hole in the top of the coffin and added a stenciled black cardstock tag under the coffin and a length of chain with a metal charm and Mini Skull to further embellish the top of the tag.

I finished this piece with a piece of bright purple lace and a spooky brad.

You can find the chipboard I used for this project, and a wonderful selection of Stampendous products, in the Tando Creative Retail Store.

Trick or treat!

Happy Sunday Tando fans! The blog has looked fantastic this week! I am delighted to be sharing something spooky with you today!

My knock a door run! Will there be a trick or treat hiding behind the door... who dares to open it !

For the base of this door I got creative and used a frame and panel from the {Layered Rowing Boat} I loved the long elongated shape.. just what I was looking for!

Layered Rowing Boat with Oars

No need for any basecoat or Gesso.. I wanted rough and ready! The messier the better for an aged look.. the frame and panel were given a coat of walnut stain. Strips of left over cardboard cereal box were used for wooden door panels.

Being in a creative mood! I decided to see if I could alter one of the locks from the {Locks and Latches} set..

Locks and Latches

I used the lock for the keyhole and the fancy edges as hinges for the door..
(cutting the lock top right)

I think it worked out quite well!

I used a couple of other halloweeny elements to decorate the front door..

Black and Orange - Skeleton Canvas

Hi Tando fans! Dana here today sharing a mini canvas for the Black and Orange theme this week. I stamped onto a piece of tissue paper with a script stamp and then sealed it onto the canvas with gel medium. I added color to the canvas, stamped wings and sentiment banner with Gelatos. I kept the Skeleton simple, coloring him with a coat of white acrylic paint and then drawing on a stitched mouth. I finished this piece with a black rose and some hand-dyed ribbon.

Same But Different Week - Layered Coffin with Dana

Hi Tando fans! Happy Halloween! Dana here today sharing my 3D coffin for the Same But Different Coffin theme this week. I've so enjoyed seeing what my fellow team members have created with the same supplies! We have a couple more projects to share this week to stop by again...if you dare!

I assembled my Layered Coffin with Cobweb Detail and covered the outside with a layer of black crackle paint. I added a canvas skull, keyhole and a bouquet of black roses to the lid and some hinges between the top and bottom layers.

I covered the inside of the coffin with a coat of the same black crackle paint and used the Poppy Mask and some acrylic paint to add colorful flowers to the coffin lid. I lined the coffin base with satin and lace. I colored my skeleton with gesso and Distress Ink and added some glitter glue to the cobweb for a bit of sparkle.
