Anything Goes Week with Nikki - Night Owl

Morning everyone,

Today I have a tag for you for the Anything Goes week.  I wanted to do a fun project and decided to use a Tando Owl on this one.

I started with a large tag, and added some brickwork stencilling with modelling paste.  Once dry the whole tag was painted blue with a mix of prussian blue hue and cobalt blue hue.  I then painted the bricks with tinting base individually, and then Burnt Sienna to get the brick look.

I added some splats of yellow, white and gold to the sky, and painted the owl in blues and greens, going over the top with Interference Blue, which changes his appearance as you move him.  I added Liquid Glass on top of his eyes, and white dots to define him.

A printed sentiment was distressed using yellow iron oxide paint watered down and a little Tando star painted gold and edged in white dots.  I also added a touch of silver around the tag with my finger to edge it.

I enjoyed making this tag as the Tando shapes are so easy to work with and make really fun little projects.  I finished the tag with some frilly black ribbon I had, to add to the night feel.

I'm a bit of a 'night owl' myself and expect a lot of you are too!

Hope you like him, don't forget to check out the rest of the weeks makes by my lovely colleagues here at Tando.

Nikki

Autumn Colors Canvas

Hey there Tando Fans!!!  It's Kerri here with a great little project share using some great Tando goodies!!!

This is a 5"x7" canvas board.  I used my Shimmerz Texturez, Meri-Gold Digger and Artie-Choked, to create the background along with the Tando Mask - Oblong Square Long.  The Owl was colored with Faber-Castell Big Brush Markers and then I put two layers of clear UTEE over it.  The green leaf at the bottom was colored with two layers of spruce green UTEE, the other leaf was colored with copper Viva Decor Ink Gold.  The chipboard letters are from The Paper Studio and I painted them with red acrylic paint and then coated them with red poppy UTEE.  (Painting them before coating them with UTEE definitely makes a difference.)

If you have any questions or want to see any techniques just ask and I can do a tutorial for you :)

Here are pictures of and links to the Tando Products that I used:

I hope you enjoyed my project and that I have inspired you all to buy some awesome Tando Goodies over at their retail store :)

Happy Crafting!!

Small Owl

Hi it's Kaz here this time and I've been playing with the smaller of the owls from the pack of two. Karen made a canvas with her larger owl here.

I have simply painted the owl with acrylic paints and doodled on it for detail. I've added a couple of layers of glossy accents on the beak and a set of googly eyes to finish off.
He really is a little cutie.

LARGE OWL - TWIT TWOO!!!

Hello, its Karen here!!!  I have had such fun playing with the large owl this week.  The owls come in a pack of 2...not sure what the collective term for owls is tho!!!  Here they are as they come:

I fancied my owl really bright soI have covered him in some fabulous paper that has gold highlights in it.  I traced off the eye & beak shapes and cut them out of plain card, which I edged with Distress Inks.  Then I added bright buttons with embroidery thread tied in the holes.

I hope that you like him.  Keep checking back for more designs, which are on their way!!! HUGS XXX
