September colour theme - twinchie

Hi, its Karen here with this months *twinchie* using the colour combo provided.  This really does look far better in real life :-D

I have used the *mini mask - numbers* to add the '9' in the centre of this.  I also used some coloured modelling paste through a stencil to create the bamboo effect (sadly this is now out of stock).

The colour palette...

For this one I dabbed all the colours but the blue onto the substrate and used blue on the *corner flourishes* .  Some *crackle glaze* gives a bit more interest!

Colour theme - July

Hi, it's Karen here with another in my set of 12 twinchies using this months colour theme.  I have kept it very simple and just made an abstract pattern.  This will sit nicely with the other more complicated twinchies that I have done.

Colour Theme May

Hello, it's Karen here with my take on this months colour theme.  The inspiration comes from peacock feathers.....those glorious greens and blues.  Again I have done a *twinchie* to add to my collection.  Instead of feathers I have added a *butterfly*.

Here is the inspirational picture.....

Thank you for coming over for a look, take care, Karen xxx

I hope that you will join in with me to create a series as I will end up with a set of little squares that I can frame.  Take care out there, Karen xxx

Twinchie

Hello everyone!  HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

This week is all about a colour theme and for this year I have challenged myself to use *twinchies*.  They are great value at £1.90 for 10!!!!!  It will be interesting to see how much I can get on a 2inch square hahaha!  Here is the first one...

Lots of texture here.  I used the little *distressed sequins mini mask*  and laid down some *texture paste*.  When it was dry I added acrylic paint till I was happy before adding a layer of *crackle glaze*.  The little *star* has been painted to match. The colour theme:

Making 3D from flat items

Hello!  This week we are making up Tando pieces into 3D items.  I have used the insides of these GOTHIC ARCHES that were left over from another project to make a little container.  I have popped some liberated coffee stirrers in so that you can get an idea of size.

I glued the 4 arches together before painting them.  Some Sparkle Medium was pushed through the LONG FLOURISH STENCIL before being mounted onto a TWINCHIE.  Its a shame you can't see the sparkle though.

Please pop back for more ideas soon as we blog nearly every day.  If you would like to have a go then do join in our challenges.  You will find details on the tab at the top of the blog.

USING EMBOSSING FOLDERS!

Hello, its Karen here starting our week of using embossing folders on Tando Chipboard.  I have chosen to try the thicker chipboard that Tando use to see if it will go through my Sissix.  I used an old Cuttlebug embossing folder that I had so it was a bit tight...but, yes, it goes through with a bit of muscle!!!!   I also used various designs to see how they would look:

It certainly gives them a whole new look doesn't it?  I chose the TWINCHIE to work with and coloured them with Faber-Castell Gelatos.  They look a bit messy at this stage:

But once I had added some Treasure Silver the pattern shone through more and the colours looked more blended.  I stuck them onto a little 2inch square handmade book that I had in my stash and added the word 'Smile' and a few beads.

So you can push the heavier Tando through with an embossing folder and you get lovely results.

If you fancy working with embossing folders then why not enter our challenge?  We are running a challenge through the month where you can join us with each weeks themes and be put into a draw to win fabulous prizes.  You can link your work *here*.

Thank you for looking today, Hugs, Karen xxx

Decorated box!

This week I am bringing you a largish decorated Tando box!  The kit is actually the Tic Tac Toe Box but I have decorated it differently using different elements.

I made up the box before adding acrylic paints, using a different colour each side.  Lovely and bright eh?  On the top of the lid I used 2 sets of the FLOURISH 7 on the corners,  4 Twinchies (stamped) in the centre and then a Multi Loop Karen's Frame on top of those.

These are fantastic box to use to put that special gift in and they are incredibly easy to put together!  Here are the pieces that I used...

The main kit...I shall use the other pieces on another project!

The lovely corner flourishes...

The little frame...(pack of 4)

and of course the twinchies...

You can buy all these direct from Tando Creative *here*  Thank you for popping by today, take care, Karen xxx

Father's Day Card

I made a Father's Day card for our Squares Week:

I taped off some squares on the ~{Oblong Square Long Mask}~ and inked randomly on the card blank, and doodled around them.
I then painted a ~{Straight Twinchie}~ and stamped onto it for the base.
I used 3 hearts from the ~{Hearts Mini Pack}~ and painted them, doodled a border and stuck them together with glossy accents.
I finished off with a stamped greeting.

FOUR SQUARES!

Hello lovely bloggers!

Tando is getting all SQUARED UP this week!  I chose to have a play with some TWINCHIES this time.  Did you know that Tando sold packs of 10 for under £2 (at time of writing this)?  They are lovely and sturdy too.

These twinchies have been painted with Fresco painted then stamped in white with some bubble wrap before being doodled.  The little birds are from Stampotique and I have added hats to them.  They look like they are going to a party...or have they been? hahahaha!!!!!  I hinged the twicies together so that they would be free standing but ooops!!!!  I glued all the hinges on the same way so, although they stand up, they don't zig-zag as I would have liked.  Another lesson learned!!!!

Do pop back see what the other DT-ers have done.  Thank you for looking today, HUGS, Karen  xxx
