A Hint of Bling

Hi guys, how are you? are you getting ready for Christmas yet?
I have altered some plastic baubles for my tree using some of the fabulous mini Reindeer and mini snowflakes,

The baubles came apart in the middle so I took one half and painted the inside with Deco Art white Gesso, when this was dry I painted over the top with some Snow tex, this gives a good coverage and yet also some texture,
I painted  snowflakes with Deco Art  silver fluid paint and when dry added some clear gems for the bling effect,
I painted the Reindeer the same way and also used some die cut trees behind again given the Snow Tex treatment and I added some gems onto those as well,
To finish them off I added a crystal bead string and a silver jingle bell with some metallic silver twine, they really shine beautifully in real life, but they were very hard to photograph, sorry!!
anyway here they are also shown on the tree, lol

I hope i may have inspired you to have a go, they were great fun to do,
happy Crafting!!

Christmas Bling!

Hello, its Karen here with some more bling ;-D  I have taken the *bauble branch* and a few little *stockings* to make a Christmasy hanging.

(Its tricky to photograph with so much glitter on it though, sorry)  The baubles and stockings were painted with acrylic paint before being glittered and gold beads added.  The branch has been painted then had liquid glass added.  These were all mounted onto a decorated wooden container saved from last Christmas.  I think it came with dates in it!!!  I lined the box with glittered Christmasy paper and painted the sides green.  Then went over the edges with a Gold Micron pen.  The 'Merry Christmas' is from my stash and painted & glittered to match.

We have an on going challenge where we make a monthly draw for a chance to win some Tando goodies.  As one of our weeks is always an anything goes week you can enter anything you would like and you don't have to use Tando at all...but if you do you are entered twice in the draw.  Take a look at the tab at the top of our blog.

Thank you for looking today, Hugs, Karen x

Christmas Stocking - Colour Theme

Hello Tando fans and welcome to another post from me, Lisa. Today I am sharing my colour theme creation. This months colour theme is very Christmassy.

For this challenge I wanted to do something related to Christmas but also do something a bit unusual. I decided on a plaque or what could be turned in to a wall hanging.

This is what I created...

I started with a piece of MDF board to work on. I added some linen fabric, some ripped cardboard, some tape and ribbon to add some texture to the MDF.

I used the Tando Christmas Stocking as the centre piece and I used a palette knife to add DecoArt sand texture paste to give it more texture.

I added some Tando Christmas Stocking mini's to repeat the Christmas theme down the right side.

And added some different sized metal rings down the left side, again to create texture and introduce different shapes.

I gave the whole thing a good coat of gesso then painted with DecoArt paints.

I freehand cut the numbers 2 and 5 a couple of times and stuck them together. Then raided my huge box of embossing powders and chose a selection of colours - racing green, copper, red, gold and a white holographic.

I first heat embossed the numbers using a mixture of the colours. I wanted the background to blend as one and the numbers to stand out so I made the '25' bright and shiny.

I then added some colours from the DecoArt Media Line

To finish, I added sprinkles of the different colours of embossing powder quite randomly then heated slowly.

Here are all the items I used and are all available on the Tando Website.

Color Theme - Santa's Key

Hi Tando fans! Dana here today sharing a project that I made for my young daughters for the Color Theme this week - a key for Santa. Each year my husband and I receive a lot of questions about Santa and how he will get into the house. I hope to avoid some of those questions this year with this special key!

I selected a key from the Set of 5 keys and colored it with ink and then a layer of glaze. I then added a rhinestone heart and a fun tassel. I'm going to give this to my girls to hand on the door Christmas Eve along with this poem:

You can find the pieces I used for this project and more in the Tando Creative Retail Store! We'd love to see what you create for our Anything Goes Challenge! To be in with a chance of winning some great Tando goodies of your choice, please make a piece based on our weekly themes and link your project, not just your blog, using the inlinkz tool located at the top of the Tando Blog. You don't have to use any Tando product, but, if you do, you will be entered into the draw twice! There are no limits to how many times you enter, however, we do request that you only enter your piece for 5 challenges. We look forward to seeing your creations!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Decembers colour theme with Dee

Hi folks you will be forgiven if you have seen this before
I made this a little while ago.
Firstly I started with the clock which I painted with silver
Deco Art Media Fluid Acrylic.
In the mean time I covered a large circle from the circle grab bag
and covered it in places with Deco Art texture sand paste.
I stamped the compass onto white card with black archival ink.
Once the circle was dry from the texture sand I painted it with
Quinacridone red and Andys dirty wash.
I cut the circle out and the trim I used a light coat of white modelling
Paste that was painted with prussian blue hue that had been
mixed with tinting base.
I dry brushed Gesso onto it then cut it out to fit roughly into the clock face.
That's it from me for today folks I hope you enjoyed it.
Cheers Dee x

December colour theme.

Helloooooo!  Its December today and the race is on for Christmas!  If you like to make your presents why not check us out as there are many things on our site that would make lovely presents, decorated or not.  Today I have a *FAERY DOOR KIT* for you coloured using this months colour theme.  This is fantastic for all little (and big) faery lovers!!!!  I had a lot of help from my 3yr old Grandaughter who 'told' me where to put the colours :-P

mmm...there is a mushroom in the kit but she doesn't like eating them so that had to be left out hahahaha!!!!!  (I shall use it on another project.)  There is lots of sparkle & glow on this little door and I think it may find its way to a certain little girls room!  Here is the kit naked...

Thank you for popping by and please come back soon!  If you would like to join us in any of our prompts then please take a look at the December tab at the top of our blog.

Hugs, Karen x
