BLACK & YELLOW WEEK

Hello there, its Karen here today!  mmm...Black & Yellow?  I really wasn't too sure how to tackle this one but I got there in the end.  The colours sounded a bit Oriental to me so I have used a LARGE and  a SMALL FAN to make a decorative hanging.  I just attached the smaller one over the larger one and am actually quite pleased with how it turned out :-D

I painted the base of the larger fan and the frame of the smaller fan with black Fresco acrylic.  I also painted some Fresco Yellow Submarine over a sheet of white card and some patterned paper.  Using Black ink I stamped a few Lynne Perrella ladies onto the yellow and using the large frame as a template cut them out.  (Please note that every segment is slightly different) The rest of the segments were cut out plain and a crackle stamp stamped in black over them.

I then covered the smaller base with the painted patterned paper.  You can't see it very well in the photo but its calligraphy haha!  The smaller frame was then attached.  I painted some Clear Glamour Dust over all the black areas and when dry attached the 2 fans together.  To finish off I added some butterflies cut out of some patterned paper and a black flower to the base (but you can't see it in the photo sadly)

The *LARGE ORIENTAL FAN* comes on it own while the *SMALL FAN* comes with a MEDIUM FAN in a pack.

Thank you for looking today, Take care, Karen xxx

Yellow and Black - Bee Happy Arch

Hi Tando fans! Dana here today sharing an arch for the Black and Yellow theme this week. I've been wanting to use this set of embossing folders for some time and this color palette was the motivation I had been looking for. I started with an inside cut from the Arabian-Style Layered Arch Frame.

I added some small flowers from the Floral Grab Bag. I primed them with several light coats of gesso and then dabbed on some pale yellow ink and finished them with some doodling and a metal pearl.

I chose a small cloud from the Grab Bag of Clouds to add to this arch for a touch of whimsy. I just used a simple coat of gesso to color this piece that I topped with an embossed bee.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Black and yellow with Irit

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to Tando Black and Yellow week.
Irit is here with my black and yellow project.
This week I finally used  this darling Bee set- so much fun to use it with this  week's colours.

I made this small octagon printers tray deco painted with my latest love: chalkboard paint.
The background was made with a Distorted Harlequin Mask
with coloured to yellow texture paste .
Then I heat embossed all chipboard parts  with bright yellow embossing powder and finally added some glitter glue over the bee. I made hand written BEE HAPPY sentiment over the lower frame corner.

Here are the products used for this  project

See you soon with more of my projects

Yellow and Black in the trees...

I decided to make a page with a grid pattern, and then use a mix of photos and embellishments in the little squares - which Tando chipboard is great for.

I used a couple of flowers from the flowers grab bag and painted them in 2 different shades of yellow  acrylic paint, then added a little white too, as well as a touch of black gel pen once it was dry to add a little more definition.  I used the same 3 colours of paint on the butterfly and square button - with the butterfly I then added some silver stickles to highlight the wings and I drew a bark pattern on the large square chipboard button too.

Yellow and Black by Kaz

I went down the obvious route with the yellow and black theme and opted for a bee:

The card base was inked through the ~{Distorted Hive Mask}~ (of course).

The bee comes from the ~{Small Bee Set}~ and has been painted with acrylic paints, attacked with some black pens of various thicknesses and given some tiny googly eyes.

I've finished off with some alphas.

Keep checking in as there are some gorgeous projects posted here almost every day.
