Transport - Deep Blue Sea Arch

Hi Tando fans! Dana here sharing an Arabian-Style Arch that I created for the Transport theme this week. I love being on the water and have fond memories of sailing on the weekends with my family as a child. Anything that stay at sea too long becomes worn and weathered, so I went with a subdued color palette. The images and text on this arch are stamped with the Susan K. Weckesser Sail Away Stamp Set. I added some clouds and a bird to complete the scene.

Yellow and Black - Bee Happy Arch

Hi Tando fans! Dana here today sharing an arch for the Black and Yellow theme this week. I've been wanting to use this set of embossing folders for some time and this color palette was the motivation I had been looking for. I started with an inside cut from the Arabian-Style Layered Arch Frame.

I added some small flowers from the Floral Grab Bag. I primed them with several light coats of gesso and then dabbed on some pale yellow ink and finished them with some doodling and a metal pearl.

I chose a small cloud from the Grab Bag of Clouds to add to this arch for a touch of whimsy. I just used a simple coat of gesso to color this piece that I topped with an embossed bee.

Same but Different... A funny AJ page and its tutorial!

Helloooo, it's my turn (Coco) to show you what I've made with the new 'Flexistrips - Grass' product...
This new product is thinner than chipboard but thicker than card, and also very flexible so it can easily be used on 3D projects, like Karen showed you beautifully just before me this week! Today, I chose to put it simply as a gorgeous embellishment on an Art Journal page, it is a quite funny page, hope will will like it as much as me... I have also a tutorial for you on this piece, click on the first image below for the link.

Apart the Flexistrips - Grass product into focus, I used several Tando's masks and chipboards on this project. I had a great fun to play with all my Tando goodies, they are really perfect to create and embellish AJ pages...  This page forms a charming combination with a previous page on the left side of my Journal, it was a bit fairy-tale page, you will have an insight into it at the end also... Hope this style of whimsical AJ pages will make you smile and inspire you! :D 

My background is made using various Panpastels as a base for other mediums, acrylic paint here and there and a bit of metallic gilding wax on the leaves and the edges... All my textured leaves are created with my new Tando mask 'Long Flourish', this one is so BEAUTIFUL!! The three different leaves you can create with it are really gorgeous. I also played with the new released mask 'Bullseye' (another new great one!!) for the central image, combined to a Stampotique stamp having by chance similar design. I was a bit inspired by the English fairy tale "Jack and the Beanstalk" everyone knows I think... even in France haha!

Black & White - Puppy Love Layout with Dana

Hi Tando fans! Dana here sharing a layout for the Black and White Theme this week. I used several of my favorite pieces of Tando Creative chipboard as well as a mask on this page that features an old photo of my Grandmother.

In addition to the lines, my piece of patterned paper also has splatters of color. I played up the random circle design by using the Random Circles Mask as a stencil. I traced around the mask on several areas of my page and colored the design with a black marker.

I added some fluffy clouds for  touch of whimsy. I covered several pieces from the Grab Bag of Clouds with pearl mica flake.

I colored a piece from the Camera Grab Bag, added a pearl and then a coat of glaze for a bit of shine.

I had the base leftover from my Heart Cog Pendant set, and because it was cut from white lined board, only added a light coat of black ink around the edges.

Simple Joy - In the Garden

Hi all ! Yippee, we are having a week on the theme "In the Garden" at Tando hehe !  I say Yippee, because I LOVE the nature, the stamps on this theme and bucolic scenery, and all things related to the garden.
To illustrate the theme, I made a scrapbook layout including a garden setting, starting from a simple paper from a French collection of patterned papers that had only some dictionary text printed on it and from a lovely photo taken in the garden of my parents-in-law.

I built my scenery at the bottom of the page using a lot of stamps from various brands, and painted the whole setting when I was happy with it. I also introduced a selection of lovely flowers from the Flowers with stems grab bag. I gessoed them a bit and then applied my Distress pads inks, or my watercolour markers like for the pink and red colours at the top of two flowers. I love the result, it looks like my scenery is part of my initial patterned paper, isn't it ?...  You can play yourself  in this way, combining basic papers and stamped scenes over it in a way that all elements mix together beautifully. And in that case, Tando's mini chipboards are a great addition !!!    

I also added two mini clouds to balance my page. Like my flowers they were slightly gessoed before being covered of blue ink of several shades, putting the darkest colour on the outer edges.They come from the grab bag of clouds.

Did you see the bird on the left side ? I'm mad about this bird !!!!! It comes from an Andy Skinner's acrylic plate of stamps (Simply Angelic) I really love.

Summer Holiday - Ship Shape Tag

Hi Tando fans! Dana here today sharing an ocean themed tag for the Summer Holiday theme this week. I spent a lot of time sailing during the weekends of my Summer vacation as a child and this tag brings back some of those fun memories.

I painted the smaller anchor from the Anchor Set with white acrylic paint and added a bit of Distress Ink to the edges.

I added one of the smaller clouds from the Grab Bag of Clouds to my tag to create some depth to my scene.
