Reflect change door hanger for Soak the chipboard week

 This week on Tando blog we were challenged to make something that was SOAKED.
Like soaked with water or mists  or anything similar.
So I really soaked this Tando door hanger in the water and then make it look it this soaked way and to work over it when it was totally dry.
Then I used paints, texture paste, crackle paste and made this butterflies door hanger that says " Reflect change".
So true and so much fit the butterflies change.
 Look how thick and layered Tando chipboard is!
So many soaked layers that give this unique look to this usual  door hanger piece.

I hope that you will try to add water to our Tando pieces in the future and will get your own unique look on your own unique projects.

Soak It Up: Peeled Layers Artist Trading Card

Hi friends! Dana here today sharing the Artist Trading Card that I created for the Soak It Up theme this week. One of the reasons I love Tando chipboard so much is for its strength. There are a lot of great techniques that can be achieved by soaking the chipboard and then distressing the layers. I soaked an artist trading card in water for several minutes, peeled the layers apart, and then let the card dry overnight.

Next, I primed the chipboard with a white primer spray. Once that layer was dry, I added color with shimmery watercolor paint. Finally, I added a little stamping and some hand-written text.

I found a wonderful quote on Pinterest that reads:

I reveal myself in layers if I deem you worthy.

I peel slowly. I watch your reaction.

One small flinch and I seal.

Not only does this quote pair perfectly with the peeled chipboard, it is also true for me.

Each of the peeled layers above is strong enough to handle more wet mediums, stamping, stitching, embossing, die-cutting, and so much more!

May Colours ♥

Hi Gez here, delighted to be sharing my 3D tag with you today for the colour challenge. This week the Design Team have been sharing lots of inspiration using the colour theme for May. Mine turned a little green when the two colours met but I love the effect.

The tag was created using one of the long [Mixed Media boards] which come in a pack of five. I used lots of wet mediums which caused the colours to run but I do like the new colours they created.

Nathalie Kalbach's [Urban] cityscape was stamped directly onto the tag and coloured with watercolours. The heart from the [Grab Bag of Hearts] was treated to a coating of medium fluid acrylic paint from DecoArts [Media Line] and a coating of crackle paint.

Once everything was dry the board was mounted onto a wide tag which had been inked and then stencilled with the [Burning Rubber] stencil and the [Criss Cross] stencil.

The May colours are just a-may-zing!

Anything Goes with Lisa

Good morning folks. Lisa here with my post for Anything Goes week. So I've chosen to share with you a sample I did for the Tando Creative show on Hochanda a few weeks ago.

Here is my creation...

First, I stuck the door frame pieces together and used the Tando 6 x 6 crocodile stencil with DecoArt white modelling paste to create the stone work. When it was dry, I mixed DecoArt black gesso and DecoArt white gesso together to make a grey tone and painted the door frame. 

I adhered the door pieces together and covered with DecoArt crackle paint. I put some DecoArt sand texture paste on the door hinges and handle. I painted all the door pieces with a selection of DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylic Paints. I then stamped on the door using a stamp from Andy Skinner's Industrial stamp set.

I painted the mushroom with DecoArt Media paints and used some white modelling paste to create the 3D white spots. 

I dabbed sand texture paste and crackle paint on the leaves then painted them.

I love playing with the Tando Faery Doors as you can incorporate loads of different textures and techniques to create something fun or a bit more realistic.

Happy Spring canvas with Irit

This is my new fancy Spring canvas made for our Flowers and Spring week.
I used Tando chipboards, DecoArt mediums and paints and Tando stencils for the background.
The sentiment was stamped over the canvas. The birds were stamped and die cut with the matching die and the leaves were stamped and hand cut after being heat embossed.
All flowers were covered with a thin gesso layer for the less brightness.

Here you can see the Crackle Glaze cover of the title word Hope using DecoArt products.
