Textured Flower Card

This week we have been all about the flowers. I made this card:

I used DecoArt's ~{White Modelling Paste}~ through the ~{Poppy Mask}~ and, when this was dry, through one of the stripes on the ~{Stripes Mask}~ for the stem.

When these were dry, I used Gelatos as watercolours to add colour and shading to the flower.

I finished off with a greeting stamp.

Unfortunately, this will be my last Tando creation for this year. I have something good and 2 nasty things coming up in the next 6 months and so I need to concentrate all my limited energy onto getting through these. After being on the team since Di started the business it wasn't easy, but it had to be done. I'll be back, though!! Thanks for all the lovely comments and support I have received from you over this time. See you in a few months.

Flower Power with Irit

Hello my dear crafty friends!
Welcome to Tando Flower power week.
Today I am going to share a wooden altered board that was made with a lot of Tando products and some techniques I tried over this altered piece.
The bare wooden board was painted with  green paint and then I added  Long Flourish Tando mask and some special shiny paint made with pigments and gel medium. This was an experiment and as you can see this paint works perfectly over the regular acrylic painted board.
The half of Tando Iron gate  was painted with white gesso and then distressed with a bit of black/grey paint over the dry white gesso.
The chipboard flowers and leaves were painted  with the same gel medium paints as the masked swirls and I just added some bling centres over them.

For this project I used Two Paper Divas Life's little sayings  is wonderful stamp set to make a statement over this altered project.

Giant Flower Peg

Hello, its Karen here with my flowers today.  I have made a giant peg out of a chipboard sheet, cutting 2 pieces 2x5inches.  Then decorating one side with flowers.

DecoArt Fluid Acrylics have been used throughout, just check out the vibrancy of the colours (this pic as not been tweeked at all!).  I overstamped the flowers and added some doodling.  The back is plain.  I then glued 2 standard clothes pegs between and added some string to hang it by.

If you fancy joining us this week please take a look at this months tab at the top of the blog for how to enter :-D

Thank you for looking today, hugs, Karen xxx

Flower Power - Floral Arch

Hi Tando fans! Dana here today sharing an arch I created for the Flower Power theme this week. I backed an Arabian-Style Layered Arch Frame with floral patterned paper. I then used the Poppy Mask with a white paint dabber to add another layer of flowers to the background. I chose several flowers from the Flowers with Stems Grab Bag, they went so well with the whimsical patterned paper, and colored them with ink. I wrote a quote by Mahatma Gandhi around the frame with a black journaling pen, which reads; "To forget how to dig the earth and to tend the soil is to forget ourselves." To finish this piece I covered the chipboard with a coat of glaze.

You can find this chipboard, mask and more in the Tando Creative Retail Store! We'd love to have you join the Flower Power Challenge! To be in with a chance of winning some great Tando goodies of your choice, please make a piece based on our weekly themes and link your project, not just your blog, using the inlinkz tool located at the top of the Tando Blog. Anything Goes with Gez!

Happy Saturday!

I am delighted to be sharing a chunky mixed media journal page with you today. This was so much fun to create!!

For the base of my chunky page I used a {sheet of chipboard} from a 6"x6" pack.

 5 pack of 6" x 6" Chipboard Sheets

I played around with acrylic paints until I was happy with the background!

And then applied a thick layer of medium gel through the gorgeous {Giovanna - Spiral} mask.

Giovanna - Spiral

What a very pretty mask!

While everything was drying, I set about concentrating on my focal image and decided to use the {Hippy Chick} stencil from {Andy Skinner}

A Skinner Stencil/Mask - Hippy Chick

I traced one of the girls onto a piece of journal page, cut and glued it to the page. The sentiment was embossed using white embossing powder. And stars were added to the journal page using gold acrylic paint.

I hope you like my art journal page.

Thank you for calling and leaving a comment if you get the chance.
Happy creating, Gez

For someone special card : Free for all with Irit

Hello my dear crafty friends!
Today I am going to share a very delicate card made for some print submission (I didn't make it after all). As a such I made it not so much messy and just in a couple of colors, with delicate stamping and the only bulky things here are those Tando spool and scissors and some wooden inked buttons.
Both Tando chipboards were painted into white, inked around and then heat embossed with clear powder all over them.
I used stamps from Visible Image, Tim Holtz and Inspired by Stamping to make this card.

New Product - Gift Label for Bottles

For Anything Goes week this month I've got a new item and a change of background! I made this Gift Label at the annual retreat I go to with my arty friends.

As I was away from home, I didn't have all my supplies, but I did have DecoArt's Chalk Finish paint in white and some Fluid Acrylics in ~{Quinacridone Magenta}~ and ~{Cobalt Turquoise}~ so I blended those onto the base and the label. I used white and black pens for doodles (I did go a bit mad with the pens!).

As I was sat next to Di, I 'borrowed' her DecoArt misters. I started off with ~{Turquoise Shimmer}~, but thought it was too dark, so I sprayed over the top with ~{White Shimmer}~. I dabbed at it whilst damp to remove some of the white. Once this was dry, I added DecoArt Crystal Glass and something weird happened: It crackled very finely!! There must have been some sort of reaction in the combination of ingredients, but I loved the effect!

Anything goes week!

Hello folks!  Its another anything goes week where we show what we have made that's not been prompted.  I have used some very pretty *WINDOW FRAMES* from the Mini Range on a little wooden money box.

I used one of the *DOMINO'S* for the door and a little *HEART* for some decoration.  The chipboard was dry brushed with some acrylic to give a worn look.

Life, art.... tag!

Happy Sunday morning!

Thank you for a lovely warm welcome last week. I am delighted to be sharing a tag with you today for the 'Heat It Up' theme.

For the base of the tag I used one of the 74mmx138mm {Mixed Media Boards} and trimmed away a couple of the corners quite easily with a normal pair of scissors.

Next I set about creating the background, this week using watercolour paints, after first applying a base coat of white Gesso.

Once dry, I stamped directly onto the tag and heated clear embossing powder over the stamped image.

Gold acrylic paint was applied around the edges and I used a clear Versamark embossing pad and powder over the top to add some dimension to the edges of the tag.

I decided to embellish the tag using a straight edged {Domino} again, applying a coat of white Gesso and watercolour paints, then stamped and clear embossed over the top. I did the same with some of the {Mini Flowers} I think they look like little iced biscuits !!

Thank you for calling and leaving a comment if you get the chance. I hope you can join us for the weekly themes, you never know, you might win a bag of goodies up for grabs. Check out this {LINK} for full details.

  Good luck, Gez ♥

Textured Circles ATC

For my 'Heat it up' project, I have made this ATC:

First off, I gave the ~{ATC}~ a coat of gesso and then while that was drying, I used masking tape to tape off the little pieces on the ~{Random Circles Mask}~ that I didn't want to use. I then used a thick coat of gesso through the circles of the mask and used the heat gun to dry it, making sure that it bubbled to give lots of lovely texture.

I used Neocolours II to give a watercolour background on the rest of the ATC, leaving the circles white.

I painted one of the buttons from the ~{Button Grab Bag}~ with DecoArt's Media Fluid Acrylic in ~{Quinacridone Violet}~. Once this was dry I used white embossing powder and a stamp to add details. I also added some white paint pen dots onto it.

When it was all dry, I doodled a border and added a flower, letters, ribbon and twine to finish it off.

Forever family : Heat it up with Irit

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my  today  project.
This time I am back to scrapbooking and I used quite a lot of Tando chipboards to make this classic (not Mixed Media) scrapbooking page.
The Paper House Productions products (papers, stickers) were arranged to this layout about my son's young family. Then I made the sentiment using Tando letters that were painted with light blue ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.
As a main embellishment element I used Tando  Scalloped banners that was stamped and heat embossed with 6 different stamps; one for each banner flag piece.
The circles grid was also inked in the same red ink and heat embossed with clear powder and then added under the title cluster. The best thing in those chipboards are those circled leftovers that made the perfect red dots randomly added all over the page.

Hope you are scrapbookers too and will use our gorgeous Tando products for your own family pages!

Heat It Up - Embossed Hanging

Hi All,

I love the 'magic' of embossing powder (lol my children are fascinated by it too!!) and how versatile it can be for stamping and masking/stenciling with.

I have made a hanging using the centre of the arch that I used for last weeks make, which can be seen here if you fancy a peek.

Texture paste was applied through the Long Flourish mask. Once dry a couple of coats of acrylic were added. A text stamp from my stash was used next with embossing ink and silver embossing powder. The mask was then placed over the modelling paste, embossing ink was used through the mask, the mask was removed and the relief pattern was embossed in silver. The edge of the hanging has been fully embossed too! A butterfly from the small bugs set was decorated and added for interest and a small stamped sentiment was added to finish.

Here is what I used......

Arches - Straight edged large

Bug Set 1 Small
