It's never too late..

Happy weekend!

Hi, Gez here, it's my turn to share a creation with you today.

This weeks theme is metallic..

I've taken inspiration from the changing seasons.. the [Spoonful of GOLD DUST] encrusted glitter and flakes by Stampendous adds the perfect golden/metallic sparkle I was looking for my [Straight edged large arch] although it's been really mild this week in the North West of England the leaves are falling!

I started out with a [Straight edged large arch]

and painted it with a coat of gold metallic paint.

The sentiment was stamped and distressed onto a plain piece of cardstock then added to the arch.

Leaves from the [Mini - Leaves 1] set were painted and spritzed with gold spray to add shimmer

along with leaves from leaves from the [Leaves - 2] set.

These mini's work perfect on greetings cards too!

Once dry enough to handle the leaves were added to the arch along with the oh, so gorgeous [Spoonful of GOLD DUST] glitter and flakes for a finishing touch..

I hope you like my decorated arch..

Thank you for calling and leaving a comment if you get the chance.

Happy Autumn/Fall if you are in the northern hemisphere.

Gez xx

Hearts and Swirls - Queen of Hearts Arch

Hi Tando fans! Dana here today sharing an arch I created for the Hearts and Swirls theme this week. I started this piece by embossing a Large Straight Edged Arch Frame with gold embossing powder and then backing it with patterned paper. I purchased a book of Alice in Wonderland themed paper dolls a while back and use the queen from that book as the focal point of this project.

I painted several different sized hearts from the Grab Bag of Hearts with dimensional glitter paint. I further embellished some of the hearts with glass beads, crackle paint, and red roses. I also added a key from the Set of 5 Keys. I have the white-lined set, and I simply left the key as-is straight out of the packaging and embellished it with a small rhinestone.

I added a "Q" to this heart with the Letters Mask.

You can find this chipboard and more in the Tando Creative Retail Store! We'd love to have you join the Hearts and Swirls Challenge! To be in with a chance of winning some great Tando goodies of your choice, please make a piece based on our weekly themes and link your project, not just your blog, using the inlinkz tool located at the top of the Tando Blog. You don't have to use any Tando product, but, if you do, you will be entered into the draw twice! There are no limits to how many times you enter, however, we do request that you only enter your piece for 5 challenges. We look forward to seeing your creations!

Heat It Up - Embossed Hanging

Hi All,

I love the 'magic' of embossing powder (lol my children are fascinated by it too!!) and how versatile it can be for stamping and masking/stenciling with.

I have made a hanging using the centre of the arch that I used for last weeks make, which can be seen here if you fancy a peek.

Texture paste was applied through the Long Flourish mask. Once dry a couple of coats of acrylic were added. A text stamp from my stash was used next with embossing ink and silver embossing powder. The mask was then placed over the modelling paste, embossing ink was used through the mask, the mask was removed and the relief pattern was embossed in silver. The edge of the hanging has been fully embossed too! A butterfly from the small bugs set was decorated and added for interest and a small stamped sentiment was added to finish.

Here is what I used......

Colour Theme Week - Large Arch

HI Everyone,

I'm here today to show you my June colour theme make.

I had a play with the fabulous large straight edged arch. This comes in a pack of 2, each with three parts - the base, the frame and the frame centre (I'll show you what I did with the centre next week).

I started by adding the circles, which came from the round grid to the frame, once dry this, and the base, were primed and painted with acrylics. I used a  texture stamp from my stash and stamped randomly on the base with a coordinating acrylic paint. A crackle stamp was used to add some more detail to the frame too. I then stippled the 2 base acrylic colours carefully onto the circles on the frame to tie the piece together.
Octopode Factory's Cheshire cat  and a sentiment were stamped and added to the arch to finish.

Here is what I used.....

Snow Bird Arch with Dana

Hi Tando fans! Happy New Year! Dana here today sharing an arch that I created for the color theme this week. I'm dealing with the first snowfall in my area and I wish I could fly somewhere warm to escape! I used the inner portion of a Large Straight Edged Arch for the base of this piece. I covered the arch with book pages and then used the Joined Snowflakes Mask with both mist and molding paste to add color and frosty flakes to the background. I topped the arch with a bird from the Grab Bag of Mini Birds.

Sparkle - Most Wonderful Time Arch

Hi Tando fans! Dana here sharing an arch for the Sparkle theme this week. I used the inner portion of a Large Straight Edged Arch for the base of this piece.

I covered the arch with a piece of gold glitter cardstock and then used the Joined Snowflake Mask and white mist to add a frosty pattern to the background. The snowy scene I added to the top of the arch is a sticker that I dressed up with a piece of floral trim and a pearl pen.

I embellished the top of the arch with flowers and a Holly Flourish that I painted gold. To add even more sparkle to this arch, I covered the entire piece with a coat of Clear Rock Candy Distress Stickles.
