L4Love door hanger with Irit

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my new Tando blog post. Irit is here today .
This time I am going to share my new easy to make Mixed Media door hanger.
It's a perfect one to make for the next month Valentine day small present.

This Tando door hanger was covered with stencilled letters using DecoArt texture paste and them painted with a mix of Media line paints  and other metallic paints.
I added small white marker dots to ass some light to this dark piece.
The title was made with another tag using the chipboard circle  inside and this time I used texture paste and a bit of embossing glitter over the letters.
I made this L4Love title with one single stencil and then added a couple of glittered hearts over the title.

Anything Goes - Teacher's Pet Mixed Media Board

Teacher's Pet School Days Mixed Media Board by Dana Tatar for Tando Creative

Hi! Dana here today sharing the Mixed Media Board I altered for the Anything Goes theme this week. My girls have just a couple more weeks of Summer before the school year begins and we are busy organizing supplies, shopping for new clothes and shoes, and preparing mentally for the upcoming year. I definitely have school on the brain and had a lot of fun creating this piece.

I started by applying a coat of chalkboard paint onto a mixed media board. Once that was dry, I spread a thin layer of spackle over the Letters Mask. Next, I cut a school girl from patterned paper and glued her to the board. I made a small embellishment with a Star Button that I painted bright yellow and then outlined with a black paint pen. I added a brass scissors charm and tied it to the button with a piece of red twine. I finished this board with a teacher's pet die-cut.

You can find the products I used for this project in the Tando Creative Retail Store. We'd love to see your creativity! Share your work with us in Tando's Creative Zone on Facebook.

Altered Book Box

Happy Sunday! Hi Gez here sharing an altered book box with you today for the anything goes theme..

First thing to do was to design a layout of chipboard pieces, this was so much fun! I've included pieces from the [3 clocks in 1] set, a lock from the [Locks and Latches] set, a heart from a [Grab Bag of Hearts], four of the gorgeous arrows from the [Arrows Grab Bag] and pieces of one of the fabulous [Lace effect borders].

I then added some textured stencilling through the [Letters] mask and also the [Sequin Waste Mask] so much fun!

Everything was glued into place and given a generous coating of white [Gesso]

While this was drying I added scrunched up paper to the spine using [Matte Medium]

I added as much texture as possible!

Once everything was thoroughly dry I set about painting the box with a few chosen colours, [Primary Yellow], [Green Gold], [Cobalt Teal Hue] and [Quinacridone Magenta]

Then...................... getting LOST in the PROCESS !! My photographing ceased !!!!!!

And for a while everything turned pretty ugly !!!!!

After too-ing and fro-ing with [Titanium White], [Carbon Black] and even a little [Gold Metallic] paint.. I was happy !

A couple of butterflies were added to the finished dry book box for decoration and embellishment from the [Butterfly Grab Bag] they were treated to a delicious coating of Stampendous [Spoonful of GOLD DUST] and [Aged Rose Embossing Enamels] oh my goodness they are so yummy!

Oh !!!! Those textures shine through !!

Love the brush strokes on the spine!

Such a fun project!

Thank you for calling and leaving a comment if you get the chance.

 Happy creating, Gez ♥

Color Theme - Nevermore Arch

Hi! Dana here today sharing the arch I created for the Color Theme this week. Once the calendar year reaches October, I begin to think about all of my favorite creepy and crawly things. Edgar Allen Poe is always at the top of the list. I printed a digital paper onto a piece of vellum for the focal point of this arch. I used the Letters Mask to stencil the word "Nevermore" onto the background of the image. I then colored in the letters and covered them with a layer of DecoArt Clear Liquid Glass. Once the image was dry, I backed it with a piece of patterned paper and then glued one outer cut from the Arabian Style Layered Arch Frame over the top. I painted the frame with acrylic paint to bring in more colors for the challenge palette.

You can find the chipboard I used for this project, and a wonderful selection of DecoArt products, in the Tando Creative Retail Store.

Pastel Journal Page

I made a journal page for this month's colour scheme:

I used ~{Modelling Paste}~ through the ~{Letters Stencil}~ and the circles from the ~{Tree and Leaves 3 Part Stencil}~. Once dry, I've used ~{White Gesso}~ over the whole page.
I used my fingers and acrylic paint to add colour to the page then used 2 of the stamps I made using Tando chipboard from ~{this post}~ with paint.
I added some washi tape, doodles, a cow stamp and a quote from Pinterest.

Things with wings by Gez

It's my turn today to share something with wings for this weeks challenge. Remember, you can join us any time throughout the month for your chance to win a grab bag of Tando goodies.....

Here is a tag I decorated for the challenge..

I started with one of the blank [Long Tags] from the 5 pack.

Set of 5 Long Tags

My first time working with one of these tags, they are a good thickness, and won't buckle under heat or wet medias and the length is so awesome!

The background was created using anything laying around my desk, mostly paints, inks and a few pastels.

Texture paste was applied to the long tag through the [Letters] mask to add some dimension to the background.

Then the fun began decorating one of the large butterflies from the [Butterfly Grab Bag]

Again, anything that was laying around my desk got thrown onto this lil guy! Just so sparkly in the sunshine!

Too much fun!

Thank you for calling and leaving a comment if you get the chance.

  Happy Sunday, Gez ♥

Stencil Week - Back to School Card

Hi Tando fans! Dana here today sharing a card that I created for the Stencil theme this week. My girls have a couple weeks of Summer left before they head back to school, but we've begun purchasing school supplies for the new year so I have school on the brain. I thought it would be fun to create a back to school card.

I painted a Mixed Media Board with black chalkboard paint. I then used the Letters Mask with whipped spackle to add a portion of the alphabet to the top of the board. I finished the card with some die-cuts and a bow.

You can find this chipboard and more in the Tando Creative Retail Store! We'd love to have you join the Stencil Challenge! To be in with a chance of winning some great Tando goodies of your choice, please make a piece based on our weekly themes and link your project, not just your blog, using the inlinkz tool located at the top of the Tando Blog. Hearts and Swirls - Queen of Hearts Arch

Hi Tando fans! Dana here today sharing an arch I created for the Hearts and Swirls theme this week. I started this piece by embossing a Large Straight Edged Arch Frame with gold embossing powder and then backing it with patterned paper. I purchased a book of Alice in Wonderland themed paper dolls a while back and use the queen from that book as the focal point of this project.

I painted several different sized hearts from the Grab Bag of Hearts with dimensional glitter paint. I further embellished some of the hearts with glass beads, crackle paint, and red roses. I also added a key from the Set of 5 Keys. I have the white-lined set, and I simply left the key as-is straight out of the packaging and embellished it with a small rhinestone.

I added a "Q" to this heart with the Letters Mask.

You can find this chipboard and more in the Tando Creative Retail Store! We'd love to have you join the Hearts and Swirls Challenge! To be in with a chance of winning some great Tando goodies of your choice, please make a piece based on our weekly themes and link your project, not just your blog, using the inlinkz tool located at the top of the Tando Blog. Anything Goes in April

I'm kicking off this week's Anything Goes for ~{Tando}~:

I've used DecoArt's ~{White Modelling Paste}~ through part of the ~{Letters Mask}~. While that was drying, I've painted ~{Karen's Frame Gothic Arch}~ with a blend of DecoArt White Chalky Finish paint and  ~{Cobalt Teal Fluid Acrylic}~. When that was dry I stamped a crackle stamp onto it and inked the edges.

I stuck a stamped image behind the frame, then added some colour inside the heart and filled the gap with ~{Clear Liquid Glass}~.

I've finished off with some doodling and a greeting.

Keep coming back this week to see what the rest of the team creates. If you join in with our themes, you can win some Tando goodies.
