Anything Goes - Teacher's Pet Mixed Media Board

Hi! Dana here today sharing the Mixed Media Board I altered for the Anything Goes theme this week. My girls have just a couple more weeks of Summer before the school year begins and we are busy organizing supplies, shopping for new clothes and shoes, and preparing mentally for the upcoming year. I definitely have school on the brain and had a lot of fun creating this piece.

I started by applying a coat of chalkboard paint onto a mixed media board. Once that was dry, I spread a thin layer of spackle over the Letters Mask. Next, I cut a school girl from patterned paper and glued her to the board. I made a small embellishment with a Star Button that I painted bright yellow and then outlined with a black paint pen. I added a brass scissors charm and tied it to the button with a piece of red twine. I finished this board with a teacher's pet die-cut.

Color Theme - Winter Door Hanger

Hi! Dana here today sharing the door hanger that I altered for the Color Theme this week. The cool blues and greys in the beautiful color palette below, have me thinking about snow and ice.

I altered a Door Hanger, Leaf Branch, and Star Button for this piece with layers of acrylic paint, crackle glaze, and shimmery mist.

I had a lot of fun incorporating texture on this piece. I added burlap, cotton ribbon, paper flowers, and pearl sprigs and sprays to this large embellishment cluster at the top of the hanger.

I added more of the same frosty chipboard, flowers, and pearls to the bottom of the tag, along with a strip of blue lace for a pop of color.

Recipe Week - Flourish Card

Hi! Dana here today sharing a simple card I created for the Recipe Challenge. We were challenged to use 1 stencil, 2 buttons and 3 colors. I used the Long Flourish Mask with three colors of Distress Ink. I stacked two circle buttons from the Buttons Grab Bag on top of each other and attached them to the bottom of the inked flourish. I then topped the buttons with a sentiment sticker. I mounted the design onto an embossed card base to finish.

Anything goes week with Irit

 Hello my dear crafty friends!
 Irit is here with some non Holidays inspiration.
But  why not ? Love is everywhere and forever and it's timeless and  has no seasons . So here is my new altered tag made with some new, just released, Tando products.
I used the rectangular frame covered with a think layer of embossing powders in a few colors to get this shimmery effect.
The small chipboard pieces were heat embossed with the same couple of powders, less black one.
The True love words inside the frame are made with a texture paste and Alphabet  Giovanna new mask. Then I heat embossed them with a very little black powder splash and a lot of pink mist over the paste.
