Anything Goes - Long Tag

Hi friends! Dana here today sharing a long tag for the Anything Goes theme this week. There are some days where I need just a little bit of extra motivation to get going and I think this tag will help a great deal.

I primed a Long Tag with DecoArt White Gesso. I then added color with a mix of Tattered Angels products: Red-Orange Shimmers, Goldenrod Shimmers, Waterfall Glimmer Glaze, Turquoise Blue Glimmer Mist, and lastly a splattering of Chalk Chalkboard Mist. Once the color was dry I stamped a sun onto the bottom of the tag with watermark ink and then heat embossed Stampendous! Spoonful of Gold Dust on top. I used a gold paint pen to highlight the edges of the tag. I used a fun mix of black letter stickers to spell out a quote by William C. Hannan; The day will be what you make it, so rise, like the sun, and burn. I finished this piece by attaching a bright yellow tassel through the hole at the top of the tag.

Stampendous Week - Stamped Acrylic Mixed Media Board

Hi friends! Dana here sharing the Acrylic Mixed Media Board I altered for the Stampendous theme this week. Tando has recently expanded their product line to include MDF and acrylic pieces, so be sure to stop by the Store and check out the offerings if you haven't done so already.

I used the Stampendous Nestled Bird Wood Mount Stamp (R158) with Colorbox Beyond Black Surfacez Ink, which is a fast-drying pigment ink designed to work on slick surfaces. I heat set the stamped image and then added color with alcohol ink.

After the image was colored I embellished the edge of the board with Stampendous Spoonful of Gold Dust. I wasn't able to heat the Gold Dust from underneath to coat the edges of this board, so I used some Top Boss Watermark Ink to help hold the product in place while I applied heat. I finished this piece with a sticker sentiment and some twine.

Color Theme - Sunflower Mixed Media Board

Hi friends! Dana here today sharing the mixed media board I created for the Color Theme this week. This is one of my favorite color palettes and I had a lot of fun playing with texture on this piece. I began by first priming a Mixed Media Board with DecoArt White Gesso. I then sprayed 2/3 of the board with a DecoArt Turquoise Shimmer Mister. After that area of color dried, I painted the left side of the board with a mix of DecoArt Primary Yellow and Cadmium Red Hue to create the vivid orange paint. I overlapped the orange paint onto a portion of the blue on the center of the board to create the deeper orange color.

No recent project of mine is complete without some embossing. I used a stamp and Versa-Mark ink with Stampendous Spoonful of Gold Dust to add some gold circles to the board. I was inspired by the netting on the challenge image, so I added some to the right side of the board. I finished this piece with a sunflower and sentiment sticker.

It's never too late..

Happy weekend!

Hi, Gez here, it's my turn to share a creation with you today.

This weeks theme is metallic..

I've taken inspiration from the changing seasons.. the [Spoonful of GOLD DUST] encrusted glitter and flakes by Stampendous adds the perfect golden/metallic sparkle I was looking for my [Straight edged large arch] although it's been really mild this week in the North West of England the leaves are falling!

I started out with a [Straight edged large arch]

and painted it with a coat of gold metallic paint.

The sentiment was stamped and distressed onto a plain piece of cardstock then added to the arch.

Leaves from the [Mini - Leaves 1] set were painted and spritzed with gold spray to add shimmer

along with leaves from leaves from the [Leaves - 2] set.

These mini's work perfect on greetings cards too!

Once dry enough to handle the leaves were added to the arch along with the oh, so gorgeous [Spoonful of GOLD DUST] glitter and flakes for a finishing touch..

I hope you like my decorated arch..

Thank you for calling and leaving a comment if you get the chance.

Happy Autumn/Fall if you are in the northern hemisphere.

Gez xx

No Return Mixed Media Board

Hi! Dana here today sharing the mixed media board I created for the Bird theme this week. I saw Black Sabbath on Sunday night and my ears are still ringing! The show was absolutely amazing. It was the first, as well as the last time, that I will see the band, as this is their goodbye tour. I was inspired to created this piece after the show.

I started with a Mixed Media Board. I added an uneven coat of DecoArt White Gesso with a spatula to create a textured base. I colored the board with Gelatos and Distress ink and added some stamping around the edge using the Nathalie Kalbach Bird 3-Piece Stamp and Stencil Set. Next, I added a row of rolled resin paper as a fun colorful base for the next layer of this project. I topped the paper rolls with a Mini Bird that I painted with DecoArt Carbon Black Fluid Acrylic Paint. I then added a trio of Mini Stars that I covered with a layer of Spoonful of Gold Dust. (The only thing more sparkly than these stars was Ozzy's shirt!) Lastly, I finished this piece with some Black Sabbath song lyrics.
