Spring Has Sprung

Hello, Lisa here and welcome to another Tando creation blog post.
This weeks theme is 'spring has sprung' and I'm so glad spring has arrived in the craft room because in the real world, it feels like winter! Bbbbrrrrrr.

Here is my creation...

spring has sprung

So this week, the boss (the lovely Di Oliver) came up with a brill suggestion to see if the Tando Creative Team could come up with ideas on what to do or how used the inside packaging from Tando products. I wanted to make some sort of feature plaque and the cardboard packaging from inside the large square frame was perfect for me to use as a substrate.

I used the random circles mask at either end of the substrate and applied a thick layer of home made texture paste through the mask and again used DecoArt Fluid Acrylic paints over the top.

I covered the large square frame with clear embossing ink and heat embossed it with gold embossing powder. I then added a thin layer of white gesso over the top and wiped areas off with a damp cloth to give it a worn effect.

I took some of the rabbits from the Tando Mini's - Rabbits pack and applied DecoArt sand texture paste and painted them with Burnt Umber DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylic.

I then used leaves from the Tando Mini's leaves 1 and leaves 2 set along with the Tando leaf flourish 110mm and applied a thick layer of DecoArt crackle paint. I also did the same with the Tando Mini's butterflies.

To finish, I punched a couple of holes in the top and added some red organza ribbon to hang the plaque.

Window into Spring

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my Spring decorative art piece.
Today I made the whole Spring scene with Tando stencil as the sun rays on the background and Tando square frame from mini Printers tray set   as a window to that scene.
First I used Tando Bullseye  mask with DecoArt texture paste and painted it over to make the " sun" image.
The whole piece was painted with DecoArt paints and DecoArt crackle was used over the window frame.
I stamped with black  ink over the painted surface (Rubber Dance stamps used here) and added a misted colored flower to the window.
This is a very simple project, but the sticker saying says it all: There is a beauty in simplicity.

Spring Inner Cut Arch

Hi friends! Dana here today sharing the arch that I created for the Spring Has Sprung theme this week. This small arch is another one of the inner cut arches from the Triple Arch Layered Frame. I love to use the inner cut pieces from Tando designs for additional projects. This layered frame comes with 9 inner cut arches, so I still have plenty of pieces to work with. I'm enjoying the emergence of Spring and the colorful buds that are beginning to open in my garden. My girls and I are enjoying the abundance of caterpillars that seem to be absolutely everywhere and are looking forward to the fluttering of butterfly wings. This small piece represents this joyous time of year.

I covered this arch with patterned paper, chalk ink, embossed stamping, and white ink splatters to add some depth. I then colored a Mini Butterfly, Flower with Stem, and a small piece of Grass Flexistrip with chalk ink for a soft finish. Lastly, I applied a light coat of Smooch Glitz for a bit of shimmer.

You can find the products that I used for this piece in the Tando Creative Retail Store! We'd love to see what you create for our Spring Has Sprung Challenge! To be in with a chance of winning some great Tando goodies of your choice, please make a piece based on our weekly themes and link your project, not just your blog, using the inlinkz tool located at the top of the Tando Blog. You don't have to use any Tando product, but, if you do, you will be entered into the draw twice! There are no limits to how many times you enter, however, we do request that you only enter your piece for 5 challenges. We look forward to seeing your creations!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Spring has sprung by Dee

A big thank you to Gez who post her lovely project yesterday to help me
out as we had lost our internet and I couldn't load up
my project.
I have a chip board hollow circle that I have put modelling
paste through Neil Walkers tangled yearn mask.
I followed this with a good coat crackle paste around the
edges followed by a coat of white gesso  once
it had dried.
I tripple embossed the butterfly with Stampendous embossing powders,
see my blog for details.
The butterfly stamp is from the Artistic Stamper
I coloured the circle with mica powders and black antiquing cream,
Treasure gold was used to highlight the texture.
Sequins were scattered over the ring and glued with matt medium.
That's all for today folks thanks for popping by.
Cheers Dee X

Spring has sprung

Hi Gez here, delighted to be back and sharing a spring project with you today.

Spring has really sprung hasn't it! So nice to see the pretty spring flowers everywhere and the little lambs in the neighbouring fields where I live, there is a real buzz in the air!

This week I have a placque to share with you using one of the {Mixed Media Boards} 74mmx138mm.

Mixed Media Boards 74mm x 138mm

 and also, the {Flower Row}

Flower Row 130mm

isn't it cute!

The background was created using watercolour inks and the flowers were painted using acrylic paints and liquid pearls.
The sentiment was computer generated and the paper torn to look like clouds..

Thank you for calling and leaving a comment if you get the chance.
Remember each weeks challenge theme is open for interpretation, my little picture falls into the watercolour challenge and the spring challenge.

(see the link at the top of this page..)
Have fun!

Happy creating, {Gez}

Spring has sprung...

Hi, Carol with you to kick start this week, and our theme is:-

SPRING HAS SPRUNG

hope it has where you are as it certainly hasn't here!! lol

So, hopefully trying to cajole the sun out I've created this bright journal page:-

The base is my large art journal which had texture paste thro' the distress diamond mini stencil..once dry DecoArt media fluid acrylics were added… a further layer of gold texture paste was then added thro' the mini distress sequin mask… various stamping and doodling were then used to build up the background.

Three mini butterflies were painted using the same acrylics, and then given a coating of distress glaze.  A masterboard was made using distress crayons and then used to stamp and cut out some flowers…. a stamped saying, washi tape and bling finished it all off.

Don't forget there is still some time for you to join us with our monthly challenge.  Take a look at the tap at the top of the page for more details and if you're lucky you could win a fab prize of some Tando products…

TFL xx

A big hello, Lisa here with today's post for this week's 'Anything Goes' theme.
For this challenge I created a mixed media tag.

MIXED MEDIA TAG

I started with a Tando tag and painted it with the three DecoArt Fluid Acrylic colours in three horizontal sections.

I stamped the painted background with Carmen's Veranda Grunge Black Swirl stamp and Jet Black StazOn ink.

I then used some homemade texture paste through the Tando cogs mask. When dry, I placed the mask over the textures areas and painted them with the DecoArt metallic gold paint.

I stamped areas of the Carmen's Veranda stamp on to the tag with clear embossing ink and heat embossed the areas with gold embossing powder.

I applied DecoArt sand texture paste to one of the small clocks with my finger, which gives a more bumpy, textured appearance than when using a spatula.
I then, randomly added clear embossing ink to the clock and heat embossed it with the gold powder.

To finish, I added some white silk and blue organza ribbons.

Bits and Pieces I used...

Tando Long tags.
Tando cogs group mask.
Tando 4 clocks small.
(All available on the Tando Creative Website)

Art of the Heart

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my new Tando project.
This is Anything goes week and for me Anything goes are usually some kind of printers trays. So today is the Hearts' turn.

I didn't make a  full tutorial for this project, but I am going to explain you the steps so you can make the very similar project by yourself.

1. Paint the chipboard heart with acylic paint and cover with one step crackle to get this delicate texture. I used DecoArts media line for this project.
Put the heart frame aside and let it dry.
2. Take a sheet of Mixed Media thick cardstock and outline the spots with a pencil so you can know where to stamp.
Take the Love stamp from Inspired by Stamping set and stamp inside 6 of the spots. You sure can add more, but I wanted to add some inside texture with stencil,so I made 6 stamped spots. Stamp with clear embossing ink and heat emboss with black embossing powder.
3. Use texture paste to make some swirls using a Swirls  stencil in the free spot around the stamped words. Let it dry.
4. Mist the whole piece with a mix of purple and blue mists till you like the  color. Dry in between each color unless you want your piece to become a brown mess.
5. Cover the small book plate chipboard with glue and add blue glitter. Paint the music notes with black paint and glue over the book plate. Add 2 star brads and glue the small plate over the frame so  you can still see the stamped Love word.
6. Embellish with a couple of light purple blings and enjoy your HeArt.

Anything goes by Dee

Hi everyone Dee here with my next post over at the
For those of you who were at ministry I apologise
that you are seeing this piece again.
This is one of the new Tando tag's I created it from one
Stampendous stamp set , embossing powders and
Deco Art media acrylic products.
Firstly I put black modelling paste through the stencil
that comes with the stamp set. Next I put crackle
paste around the edges.
Once dry I coloured the area with the acrylic paint and used
Prussian Blue hue on the crackle paste edges.
Next I triple embossed the larger circle pattern directly
                                                                          onto the tag
I use triple embossed the smaller circle onto a Tando circle.
Strips of black card were ripped and stuck onto the tag.
I hope you have enjoyed this post
Cheers Dee X
