Art of the Heart

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my new Tando project.
This is Anything goes week and for me Anything goes are usually some kind of printers trays. So today is the Hearts' turn.

I didn't make a  full tutorial for this project, but I am going to explain you the steps so you can make the very similar project by yourself.

1. Paint the chipboard heart with acylic paint and cover with one step crackle to get this delicate texture. I used DecoArts media line for this project.
Put the heart frame aside and let it dry.
2. Take a sheet of Mixed Media thick cardstock and outline the spots with a pencil so you can know where to stamp.
Take the Love stamp from Inspired by Stamping set and stamp inside 6 of the spots. You sure can add more, but I wanted to add some inside texture with stencil,so I made 6 stamped spots. Stamp with clear embossing ink and heat emboss with black embossing powder.
3. Use texture paste to make some swirls using a Swirls  stencil in the free spot around the stamped words. Let it dry.
4. Mist the whole piece with a mix of purple and blue mists till you like the  color. Dry in between each color unless you want your piece to become a brown mess.
5. Cover the small book plate chipboard with glue and add blue glitter. Paint the music notes with black paint and glue over the book plate. Add 2 star brads and glue the small plate over the frame so  you can still see the stamped Love word.
6. Embellish with a couple of light purple blings and enjoy your HeArt.

His demons- my Art: layers with Irit

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to Tando layers week.
This time it's all about getting the inspiration and making art from this inspiration.
And this  is the story of this art piece.
Here and there I am asked about the places where I get my art inspiration. Sometimes it's just from photos (when I scarp); sometimes it's from the nature, seasons and things around us; sometimes it's just a song title or a song  line ; and sometimes the whole piece is born from the TV show or a movie.
This  arches over  the arch altered Mixed Media piece was born from the TV show.
Lately I am addicted to historic  serials and one of those is Da Vinci's Demons show of already two seasons. Our TV providers changed the name to Da Vinci's Secrets, but the original name is  a real thing. This outstanding artist was obsessed with his own demons and also this show is  somewhere between history and fantasy, it's still all about the artist  searching for  his way in the chaotic 16- th century world.
So with Rubber Dance Da Vinci stamp set it was just so natural to make the art piece about Da Vinci's demons connected to my own art. And Tando chipboard pieces were the perfect for making this art piece.
According to the artist's life time arches were the best kind of a " canvas" to arrange his work over.
So I used 3 of Tando Creative chipboard arches one over another to make this 3 layers arrangement.
All stamping was made over white tissue paper and glued with gel medium.
The chipboard was painted in red colour  (he was bleeding over and over in this movie, really and inside his soul.) I  used crackle medium over the red paint and then painted with dirty white paint to get this aged look.
For this artist being an engineer it was obvious that I need to use metal gears and metal parts over my art piece.

My title was made in two parts. The upper one (His demons) was made with paper stickers  used as a mask and black ink added over the stickers, that were peeled later.
The " My art" part of title was made with two chipboard  Tando letters(inked with black pigmented ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder)  and stamped ART word. (As the final touches I added another small  Tando arch chipboard  with a metal clock over it  (again painted with black ink and heat embossed with a clear powder)and some teal mist drops around for the interest. Tando  music notes chipboard on the bottom was added as my tribute to the music of his soul.

Those are Tando products used to make this art piece:

I really hope you like my artistic Mixed Media piece and you now understand where we, the artists, get some of our inspiration.

Tag it with Irit

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to Tando tag it week! Irit is here again with some Mixed Media inspiration.
I love tags! I really think that this is most artistic crafting without being messy, Mixed Media full of gesso over your hands. So this is  such a project: stamped, water colored, inked, die cut , heat embossed and still clean and maybe even simple. Or not...

I made the background tag with corrugated board and the second tag was all resist stamped with Rubber Dance stamps. Some of the stamps were heat embossed with white powder and some with black and then I covered the whole stamped piece with a mix of distress inks and Gelatos.

I added black brick background die cut and heat embossed Tando bookplate chipboard with glitter blue powder.
The stamped sentiment inside was stamped on vellum.
Another heat embossed  music notes chipboard was added over the bookplate and wit some red paint
" blood" drops, two star brads and some ribbons this tag was finished.

Home deco week : Discover Lifetime Magic

Hello, my dear Tando friends! Today I am going to show you my Acrylic wall deco made with some fabulous Tando products.
I made it on an  acrylic page base, with a lot of PRIMA goodies. Tando Creative octagon printers tray was my base for a lot of stamping using Visible Image stamps and then I added this Music chipboard  covered with black paint and Glossy Accents.
This art piece is about Lifetime Magic: inspiration, books, music, butterflies and old things vintage.
See you next time with more Tando inspiration!
