December Colour Theme-Christmas Snowflake Cubbey- Fiona Randall

Morning All it's Colour theme week on the Tando Blog.

For my project I used one of the Tando Cubbey's

I used three colours from the colour swatch to create my christmas snowflake cubbey.

After assembly I gave the inside a coat of DecoArt Chalky finish in Carbon and then a coat of DecoArt Media Ultra Matte Varnish to seal. The outside was given a coat of DecoArt Chalky finish in Timeless. Once dry a coat of DecoArt Crackle Medium for chalk paint was applied. This was then dried with a heat tool. ( yes you can dry this product with a heat tool). Once dry DecoArt Chalky Finish in Honour was applied with a sponge. By applying with a sponge it eliminates brush strokes and the possibility of removing the crackle. This was then dried with a heat tool to speed up the crackle effect.
The edges of the cubbey were then swiped with DecoArt Metallic Lustre in silver spark.
Next up a piece of card stock was embossed with a mini 3d Lumber folder. This was then spritzed and sprayed with Distress Ink Sprays in Chipped Sapphire and Old Paper with a little of the Distress Mica Spray Stain in Snow Flurries for shimmer and shine. This was then glued into the cubbey.
Next up a piece of old book paper was applied to a piece of card stock with decoupage glue. Once dry this was die cut and embossed using the 3D mini impresslits snowflake folder. The edges of the snowflakes were inked with Ground Espresso distress ink.
The Snowflakes were then swiped with the silver spark metallic Lustre to the raised edges.
A Tando  Snowflake was swiped with the silver spark Metallic Lustre and a brad attached to the centre. A small Bookplate was given the same treatment and a sentiment stamped and attached.
The snowflakes were then layered up and  applied to the Cubbey with a piece of grey board attached to the back to give depth and dimension. The bookplate was then attached to finish.

Vintage Week- Fiona Randall

Morning all Fiona here with this weeks theme- Vintage.

I went with a Tando size 9 tag as my base for this project.
I created an inky background with Distress inks in vintage photo and speckled egg onto white 300gsm cardstock.
This was then cut to shape and glued to the tag base. Next up stamping with vintage stamps with Watering Can Archival ink.
The Tando bookplate was  given a coat of  DecoArt Tinting Base and then glazed using speckled Egg distress glaze.
Tando extra thins harlequin were inked with vintage photo distress ink and then stamped with potting soil archival ink
All elements were layered up onto the tag and a butterfly added.
To finish some seam binding was coloured using the speckled egg ink and dried and added to the tag. A quote was then added to finish.
I think I achieved the vintage feel with the colours chosen and stamp choices I made.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by and read.

Winged tag : Use spray inks week

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to our Use mists Tando week!
This small project was made over Tando Mixed Media board with other Tando products (shown later) and only MISTS!

I used a mix of copper and dark orange mists over the chipboard pieces that were previously covered with a thin layer of white gesso.
The first layer was masked with texture paste background.
Then Industrial wing was added on it.
I am not sure that you can see the intermediate layer made with Tando Book plate under  two more layers.
The last  chipboard layer is  very old Tando Dragonfly(not in the shop anymore, sorry) and then metal and resin pieces were added.
I added some more texture with micro beads and made the sentiment with epoxy sticker.

Chipboard book cover with Irit: Anything goes week

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to new Anything goes post.
Today I am going to share  my new chipboard mini book cover made with bare Tando chipboards and Mixed Media DecoArt products.

First I need to say that the background mask is not really a mask but a die I used for the texture paste as I wanted something small and didn't find the small Tando mask in my pretty large stash. So I used the very old metal die and added the DecoArt texture paste over it.
Then I painted the inside and outside of the book cover with a mix of Media line paint and added the small book plate over the cover.
Fun metals and flowers cluster was added for the interest to the cover.

Here are some close- ups to the painted , stencilled and painted cover.

I decided to stay in grey- blue and purples and to make it vintage dark in just three colors.

Metal pieces, small chipboard plate, fabric and paper flowers were also painted into the matching colors.

I love Autumn mini book cover with Irit

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my last September Tando post.
This week we are showcasing Leaves and I decided to make a cover for the very small (ATC size) notebook using BoBunny new Fall line and Tando chipboard.
The notebook was first covered with fancy patterned paper .
Then I colored Tando lovely Book plate and Leaves with DecoArt  Media line paints and arranged them on the book cover. One I LOVE AUTUMN sticker and a few pearls and this lovely cover was all done.

Art of the Heart

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my new Tando project.
This is Anything goes week and for me Anything goes are usually some kind of printers trays. So today is the Hearts' turn.

I didn't make a  full tutorial for this project, but I am going to explain you the steps so you can make the very similar project by yourself.

1. Paint the chipboard heart with acylic paint and cover with one step crackle to get this delicate texture. I used DecoArts media line for this project.
Put the heart frame aside and let it dry.
2. Take a sheet of Mixed Media thick cardstock and outline the spots with a pencil so you can know where to stamp.
Take the Love stamp from Inspired by Stamping set and stamp inside 6 of the spots. You sure can add more, but I wanted to add some inside texture with stencil,so I made 6 stamped spots. Stamp with clear embossing ink and heat emboss with black embossing powder.
3. Use texture paste to make some swirls using a Swirls  stencil in the free spot around the stamped words. Let it dry.
4. Mist the whole piece with a mix of purple and blue mists till you like the  color. Dry in between each color unless you want your piece to become a brown mess.
5. Cover the small book plate chipboard with glue and add blue glitter. Paint the music notes with black paint and glue over the book plate. Add 2 star brads and glue the small plate over the frame so  you can still see the stamped Love word.
6. Embellish with a couple of light purple blings and enjoy your HeArt.

Book Plate Birthday Card

It's make a card week. I made this one for my mum's birthday:

Firstly, I used DecoArt's ~{White Modelling Paste}~ through the circles part of the ~{Tree and Leaves 3 Part Mask}~ onto card.

I painted one of the ~{Small Book Plates}~, a heart from the ~{Mini Hearts Pack}~, a flower from the ~{Mini Flowers Pack}~ and a butterfly from the ~{Mini Butterfly Pack}~ using a variety of ~{DecoArt Fluid Acrylics}~ mixed with DecoArt's white chalk paint.

I've then used DecoArt's ~{Clear Liquid Glass}~ to glaze and stick everything. I then assembled the card and did a bit of doodling.

Keep checking the ~{Tando Blog}~ this week for more cards from the design team.

Spokilicious by Dee

Hi everyone I hope you are well and getting ready for
Halloween. I have for you today a piece
that just evolved.
I started by painting a Tando media board with buff and a
bit of burnt umber deco art media paint.
I then used black modelling paste through Andy's
skulldugger mask.
I had put crackle paste on to card and coloured it with raw umber and
dry brushed with gesso.
The compass was stamped onto a Titan buff painted tando circle
and sprinkles with gold embossing powder.
it was then painted with washes of
Deco art paint.
Any of you that know my work will know I am a high fan of
Deco art's antiquing creams which were then used over
the top of the skull. once it had dried.

The book plate again was painted with deco art paints. various stamps were used from my stash.
I hope you have enjoyed my Spokilicious piece and don't forget to join us.

Every little thing: Fly week

Hello my dear crafty friends!
Irit is here again and this is own Fly week, so as you can sure see there are a lot of flying things over this Mixed Media art piece (also they are stamped, but this piece is full of Tando products)

I glued a lot of Cogs on the lower part of the board, painted and misted over.

Then I added some Tando chipboard letters, those that we usually don't use  and they finished my background.

The big book plate was added as a focal point with a stamped sentiment, heat embossed with black and painted with copper over the heat embossing.
I hope you got a picture of using Tando chipboards as your Mixed Media backgrounds and see you again soon!

Love banner:Larger than life

Hello my dear crafty friends!
Irit is here again and this time with my Larger  then Life  project and actually it means to use Big Tando pieces and this banner is sure BIG!
You know that Love is bigger the life and Tando Creative banners are sure Big: big fun to make and big pleasure to give as a present.
So here they are: my Love banners

Each piece was  inked and heat embossed around, then I glued dotted Bo Bunny papers over each single piece and added the very old heat embossed  letters.
I stamped one single butterfly for the first piece.

Added some embellishments over the other ones.
This Tando book plate was a must over the central piece.Small book plate heat embossed in red  on the middle.

Some more pieces of this project

I hope you like this project as much as I do (I Love those  Tando banners so  much that I ask for a new pieces for my every DT box to be sent)
Here are Tando products I used for this piece

See you in a few days with more Tando inspiration!
