Resist Week- Fiona Randall

Morning all Fiona here with this weeks theme- Resist.

There are many ways and techniques to achieve a resist effect in your project

and I have used two of the many that are out there to discover.

I have used one of my Layered Tags produced by Tando for my project this week.
The main cut out base tag uses the wax paper resist technique.  Wax paper was embossed in an embossing folder placed on top of the tag which was given a coat of DecoArt Tinting base. The tag was then sandwiched between to pieces of copier paper to create a sandwich. Then ironed with a dry iron gently moving over the tag. The heat of the iron melts the embossed waxed design and transfers it onto the tag base. The tag was then inked with Aged Mahogany and Rusty Hinge distress inks and gently dried with a heat tool. Once dry the tag was gently wiped back with a damp paper towel to reveal the resist pattern of the wax transfer. The second resist technique was applied to the top keyhole plate using the clear embossing method. Stamping was applied to the key plate using Ground Espresso Archival ink and a text stamp. Whilst the ink is still wet sprinkle on clear embossing powder and heat set. Vintage photo distress ink was then applied to the bare grey board. The embossed text resist the inking. The base of the triple layered tag was then coloured to tie in and all pieces assembled as shown. Elements were added to finish and the tag then layered onto a piece of Tando Grey Board cut to size. This had been given a coat of DecoArt Chalky Finish in Carbon and then stamped with black archival ink using a text stamp.
Here's a close up of the resist techniques used.

A fun project exploring the many ways to achieve a resist effect.
