Ribbons 'N' Lace: Go Green!

Hi Tando fans!  Dana here today sharing a layout for the Ribbons and Lace theme this week. I had a lot of fun with this theme and decided to create my own lace-filled shamrock from Tando chipboard.

I started with a branch from the Leaf Branches with 3 Loose Leaves and some hearts from the Jewelery Heart Set. I trimmed the leaves from the branch set for use in my flower clusters and cut the stem down to a better size for my shamrock. I trimmed the small loops from the top of the hearts to make a clean edge. I colored the chipboard pieces with Lemon Zest and Cut Grass Dylusions Ink Spray and topped that with Tattered Angels Iridescent Gold Glimmer Mist and Blizzard Glimmer Glam Paint. I filled the cutouts in the hearts with green lace to finish.

Here is one of the leaves from the branch set.

I also added a key from the 5 Decorative Key Set.  I colored this piece with Tattered Angels Antique Brass Glimmer Mist and then covered it with a layer of Clear Rock Candy Distress Crackle Paint.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Altered mini album cover: mini books week

Hello, my dear crafting friends!Irit is here again.
This is our mini albums week and I want to share a big 15*15 cm mini album cover  I made with lots of Tando chippies and lots of Mixed Media techniques.
As you can see I used 8 different Tando pieces here: a bird cage and a bird, some Steam punk pieces, 2 lamps, a key and 2 masks.
I used the light molding paste with the Sequin Waste mask and then heat embossed over it with some embossing powders and mists. All other  chipboards were heat embossed with metal and regular powders and as much as this piece  looks a mess, it's a vintage journey to my world.

Hope you like this piece and see you next time with more inspiration.

On my Soap box

If you know me you might well think that soap boxes are something I stand on while talking your ears off! (and maybe boring you rigid in the process) Not this one now all my cloths, bedding, towels and everything else it is possible to stuff in the machine is clean the box was ready for re-purposing.

So re-purpose it I did.   Some beautiful 12x12 that has been in the paper stroking box for years was used to cover it, rather like wrapping a present.

Next Sorted through my stash of Tando Chipboard.   selecting a wavy bottom arch, a key and lock plate and on the sides arch's within an arch.  All Tando coloured with Inca Gold either in gold or green.

Next some of the Tando was stamped and embossed with White EP.    A sheet of 12x12 Vellum cut into and part of the flower pattern stuck to the front of the box.   Another bird stamp added in Brilliance ink the design highlighted with clear gems.    Some white cotton lace stuck around the top of the box. DST run down sides and covered with gliding flakes.   Finally some pale green ribbon stretched over the back, the top ribbon has a glass bead threaded onto it, and a single piece of ribbon stretched over the front also with a glass bead.

Here are the sets I used

Shine a light

Little hand made calendars are very popular at the moment.   Fun to make they are great gifts.    This one is steampunk themed a style that lends itself to textures, layers and shapes.

The Tando Lantern has a backing of yellow cellophane and the chipboard coloured with Sakura glitter pen.    The Lock plate and the key were blasted with Glimmer mist and then touched with Viva Ferro.

Full details of this project can be seen on my blog.
