Frames and Leaves week with Irit

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to our Tando Frames and Leaves week.
This week I made an altered Mixed Media project using a lot of Tando chipboards and even used the leaves negative as my background.
Sometimes the negatives are really nice as the background if we use the whole piece and then add the leaves over it.
Under the chipboard background I used Tando stencil to make texture of a kind of a dark wood.
The frame was covered with DecoArt Crackle paint and then some DecoArt Media line paints were added over to color the frame.
All Tando leaves were painted with a mix of DecoArt paints and the only other thing that was added are these green and gold berries.

Home Sweet Home!

Hi Gez here, I am delighted to be sharing a project with you today. This weeks challenge is all about techniques and the Design Team have been show casing their painty techniques.. always nice to get painty, what a lovely excuse !!

I've made a large hanging plaque using the gorgeous {Home Sweet Home Plaque kit}

Home Sweet Home Plaque large

and a few extras!

I hope you like it..

(click to enlarge..)

First of all I gave the plaque a generous coating of {White Gesso}

Media: White Gesso

  adding a few scribbles for texture before it dried.. one of my favourite things to do !

(click to enlarge..)

The Gesso dried in no time.. I then gave the plaque a coating of blue acrylic paint mixing on the plaque with a little more Gesso..

I then used the {Trees and Leaves mask} to create some interest to the background using a baby wipe to remove some of the blue acrylic paint

Mask - Trees and Leaves 3 part mask

I wanted to create the image of sky, trees and the little house being in the trees for the owls to live in!

I added some home grown ephemera (my sons old homework !!) to the house that comes in the {Home Sweet Home plaque kit} using {Clear Matte Medium}

Media: Clear Matte Medium

This was soo much fun!

 As well as using acrylic paints to paint with this week I challenged myself to use other products too and went straight to my watercolour crayons, these are so easy to use and can be used to create backgrounds as well as working well on smaller pieces. I used a baby wipe to help create the effect I was looking for..

The watercolour dried in no time and I was soon able to build up a few more layers.

Here is the finished house..

(click to enlarge..)

I added some texture to the heart by removing some of the paint through the {Criss Cross Grid mask} using a baby wipe..

 It's round about here where I got lost in the process and forgot all about taking photographs !!!!!
(Thank goodness I hear you shout !!)

Here is a close up showing the little {Owls}

and {Leaves}

from the mini's set..

Free for all with Irit for August

Hello my dear crafty friends!
Irit is here again and this is my Free for all project.
This is a wooden piece made into this trendy Chalkboard deco with stamping and heat embossed letters, but then I made those gorgeous Tando  clusters on both corners of this project.

Here you can see the lower corner.

And here is the upper one. Both were made with leaves, flowers and birds covered with a few layers of White thick embossing powder and then some of the pieces were stamped into the hot powder for the texture. On the bottom I used Tando new Long Flourish  mask with white texture powder.

I really love this black and  white projects made with  Tando delicious chippies and masks. Most sure will do  more of those classic projects in the future.
And here are the products used for this project

Same but different week: Grass Flexistrip

Hello my dear crafty friends! Irit is here today and I am going to show you my take of our Same, but different week. During this week our design team is going to show you our take of new released Grass flexistrip.
Those strips are really versatile- you can use them for layouts and cards, but as they are flexible, you can use them for 3d projects or to arrange them in 3d way as I did in my new totally Tando wall deco.
I altered this medium size kitchen wooden board to be this fancy nature scene using Tando masks and chipboards. First I made this wood grain background with a big wood grain stamp and then heat embossed it with numerous embossing powders and misted with brown and golden mists. Then I made the sun, clouds and landscape using Tando City Skyline mask and molding paste and heat embossed them over with shiny powders. All chipboard pieces from mini lines and the Grass flexistrip  were painted with Gelatos and heat embossed with clear embossing and coloured powders too. The grass strip- part of it- was bended as it's totally flexible piece.

And those are the products I used for this project

See you next week with more Tando inspiration! Come back this week to see what other DT  members made with our new released Grass flexistrip.

For you box: Vintage

Hello my dear crafty friends!
This is our Vintage week  and this is my take of our vintage project.
I made an altered oval box all full with Tando most gorgeous chiapboards, such as BOOK PLATE covered with 3 embossing powders layers for this distressed look. Then I added the title from Valentine set, heat embossed with one single colour, but with like 3 layers of it.

Mini leaves and flowers were heat embossed with a mix of powders and glued over this box with 3d foam glue.
I also added some bling over those lovely chipboard mini shapes to get this vintage and shiny look.
 And here are the chipboards I used  for this project

Hope you like my box and see you again.
