Natalie Kalbach Elephant

Hello!  I have chosen to work with a Natalie Kalbach stamp today, the wonderful ELEPHANT!!!  This stamp is amazing value as there are two stamps in the pack as well as a lovely 5x7 stencil to play with!  Each elephant is different though the same size and shape.  These stamps are big at nearly 7inches long.  With this in mind I thought I would stamp onto fabric for my project!

For the main body I chose some bright cotton fabric and stamped onto the reverse so that I had some soft shading.  Then I stamped again onto the bright side for the 'blanket' and cut that section out.  I decorated that with beads and bobbly braid.  Another whole elephant was cut out and I stitched them together leaving a gap for stuffing, adding a ribbon to hang by and a tail as well as incorporating the 'blanket' into the seam.  Then I added some more braid and a button & bead for the eye.

Thank you for popping over, take care, Karen x

Color Theme - Nevermore Arch

Hi! Dana here today sharing the arch I created for the Color Theme this week. Once the calendar year reaches October, I begin to think about all of my favorite creepy and crawly things. Edgar Allen Poe is always at the top of the list. I printed a digital paper onto a piece of vellum for the focal point of this arch. I used the Letters Mask to stencil the word "Nevermore" onto the background of the image. I then colored in the letters and covered them with a layer of DecoArt Clear Liquid Glass. Once the image was dry, I backed it with a piece of patterned paper and then glued one outer cut from the Arabian Style Layered Arch Frame over the top. I painted the frame with acrylic paint to bring in more colors for the challenge palette.

You can find the chipboard I used for this project, and a wonderful selection of DecoArt products, in the Tando Creative Retail Store.

Autumn Leaves with Lisa

Hi Folks, Lisa here and welcome to
my creation for this weeks theme, Autumn Leaves.

I must admit, I'm a huge fan of Autumn. The beautiful colours, animated sounds and textures that Autumn brings....

With that in mind, I wanted to incorporate all these in to this weeks theme.

Here is my creation...

I added a layer of DecoArt texture sand paste to the background piece then painted the inside background with DecoArt Media fluid acrylic paints.

I applied a layer of DecoArt Media crackle paint to the outside frame. I gather all the leaves from the Tando products and started to layer.
I love how Tando products can be used individually or can be layered to create an extreme 3D piece.

So, I arranged and re-arranged the leaves until I was happy with the layout. Then adhered them to the frame.

I mixed a palette of autumn colours with DecoArt Media fluid acrylics and painted the leaves.

All of the products I have used are listed below and are available on the Tando Website.

Tando products...

Mini heart printer tray
Leaf branch with loose leaves
Leaf branch with cut out leaves
Tando minis - leaves 2
Tall leaves set of 4
