Hi everyone Dee here with my make for anything goes week I have this lovely skull again I love him! I used a Tando tag and France Papillon Stencil. 

 I used Deco art texture paste/crackle paint, along with media paints, antiquing cream and varnishes.

 I used lovely artyco moulds for the coin and glasses these were painted with deco art media acrylic paint. I stamped Fear from Andy's Skinners word plate from illusionary artists.

A pair of binders

Hellooooo!  My project for this Anything Goes week is a pair of *folders*.  These are especially designed to fit the newer masks/stencils.  They have really clever bendy spines which make them so much easier to decorate!  I have kept mine fairly simple....adding bold colours to the big flowers.

Here they are laid out flat... they do look a bit yellowy but are white backgrounds!

They are similar on the inside.   For the base I laid down a few bright colours and then a layer of *Weathered Wood*  adding white after it was dry.  The flowers have been stamped onto thin card and coloured with watercolour pencils.  A touch of clear glitter was added to them.  I added Velcro to fasten and some beads for more colour!!!!

Anything goes week -Shabby Home Sign by Monika

Hi all!

It's Monika here with my new project. For 'anything goes week' I've decided to decorate this gorgeous HOME sign by Tando.

 

I've started with painting the base pieces with grey chalky finish paint. 

Then I've rubbed wax candle around the edges. 

Next  was a coat of white chalky paint. Once dry, using heat gun and sanding paper I've distressed the edges to create peeled paint effect.

 

I've chosen to decoupage the letters with printed napkin, but first I've primed them with white acrylic paint.

I've cut the napkin into smaller pieces

Don't forget to separate the layers, we're only using the top printed layer.

 

 Using decoupage glue I've applied a thin layer on each letter under and over the napkin, smoothing out the surface with brush.

Once  glue was fully dry, I've trimmed the excess around the edges with sanding paper

 

 I've also added two coats of  mat acrylic varnish on each of the letters.

Each letter was glued on the base, and they were connected with wire.

I've also aged the letters and plates with patina to add the worn out look.

Embossing Folders with Lisa

Hi folks. Lisa here and welcome to today's Tando post. 

This weeks theme is 'Embossing Folders'. 

Tando's amazing greyboard can be used in many different ways. It is strong enough to take anything you throw at it including multiple layers of different mediums. But, it is also soft enough to be manipulated with an embossing folder. 

I used a Tando long tag and embossed it with a leaf embossing folder using a manual die cutting machine then painted it using DecoArt Premium Acrylic Paints.

I painted some paper flowers with the DecoArt Premiums Acrylics and left to dry. 

I took some artificial leaves and heat embossed them with silver embossing powder.

I added a sentiment 'bloom' using label maker.

I then added some black satin ribbon to the tag top.

Embossing Folders - Patchwork Tag by Hannah

Hi all, Hannah here with another project!

Embossing folders are a great way to quickly add texture to a project, and being greyboard - Tando products are ideal for holding a deep emboss.

I have layered up greyboard off cuts in a patchwork style over a Size 10 tag, using different sizes of off cuts in different orientations give's a fun layered effect. Each off cut has been embossed using a variety of embossing folders and passed through a die machine.

Each off cut has been painted with a different technique to give a metal effect finish. Rust features heavily, and dry brushing helps highlight the different textures created by the embossing folders.

I have added a textured heart embellishment wrapped in rusty wire to work as a feature.

Embossing Folders by Dee

Hi everyone Dee here with my embossing folders project as you can see i have used the lovely tags from Tando along with an offcut/panel and a cog.

 As you can see below I have used a variety of embossing folders and glued them onto the tag and panel I have then used crackle paint on a pallet knife and applied it to the edges of the tag. Next i gave the whole piece a coat of tinting base followed by Prussian blue hue and Raw umber.

 Once I was happy I swiped it with an archival ink pad to highlight areas of the embossed card I also applied carbon black antiquing cream to the edges and knocked them back. I had a clay skull in my stash and made a clock face and cogs which I purchased from Di at Tando they were made from artyco art moulds. I mounted the clock face onto a tando cog that i had painted with Prussian blue Hue.

Embossing Folders - mini book

Hi there!  I have gone all pretty pretty for my embossing folder project.  I have decorated the tall mini book from the *mini books mega pack*.  This is a great little pack as you get 10 mini books in 2 types and 3 sizes!!!!!  Here is my offering... its only 12x6cm...

 
Firstly I covered the blanks with tinting base then ran it through my Big Shot with an embossing folder.  You need a bit of muscle but it will go through! For some reason (I have no idea)  I didn't emboss the whole of one side but that will be covered anyway!

I painted the covers and the spine in Titanium White.  Then I made a wash with some purple and just dipped the pieces in. I love the way it settle randomly.

All the pages were cut from 100gm copier paper and attached to the spine by winding the thread around as shown.

To attach all the pieces together I cut some firm card 12x6cm, roughened the edges and marked the centre.  This enabled me to line up the spine.

Once the covers were glued down I scored down the card close to the spine.

To finish off I added some lace over the binding to make it stronger.  Then I added some beads and buttons and a quote.
