Anything goes- Industrial Tag by Monika

Hi!
It's 'Anything goes' week so I thought I would share this project with you today. Eveything I like combined on one tag.

I have started with applying Decoart Modeling Paste through stencil.

Next I have covered entire tag with Chalky Finish paint in Relic. Using clear wax candle I have rubbed the areas I wanted to show through.  For added interest I have also added Weathered Wood medium randomly.

Then a coat of Chalky Finish paint in Yesteryear was painted on. Once dry I have rubbed off the areas coverd with wax to reveal underneath paint.

Nuts, washers and cog were painted with Media Fluid Acrylics in Paynes Grey and Quinacridone Gold and then added on the tag.

I have also applied rusty washes and stamped randomly my favourite Andy Skinner's industrial stamps.

Last step was to coat the whole tag with Ultra-Matte Varnish to finish it off.

I hope you like my inspiration
See you next time
Monika

Floral Grunge by Fiona.

The theme on the Tando Blog this week is 'Flowers'.

Unusual for me to have Flowers in my project but I adapted to fit in with my usual Grungy Style.

I used a stencil to apply modelling paste onto the Tando Rectangle frame. This was given a coat of DecoArt Dazzling Metallics in Iced Espresso and once dry Patina Antiquing cream applied and wiped back.  I then used some papers created with a new technique that I have been experimenting with to cover a piece of grey board to make a backing for the frame. The same paper was then used to stamp the flowers from The Butterfly Poppy Collage stamps from Chocolate Baroque. A quoute was then stamped and applied to the frame insert before assembling and attaching the flower.

Floral Journal Binder by Jane

Hello!

This week on the Tando Creative blog the theme is 'Flowers' so today I am sharing one of the technique tag binders that I have decorated with a very floral theme!

I already had one of the binders decorated for technique tags, but couldn't resist having another one specifically for journal tags.

I started by coating the binder with white gesso then coloured some crackle paint with blue acrylic paint...

Next I used two of the long stencils (numbers and rings) with gesso and gold paint, then used pens to create dots and doodles.

Once this had dried I used a flower stamp set to add my main images to the cover then created some extra on white card to create more layered elements on the top.  I used pens to colour the flowers and added glossy accents to the extra flowers with a touch of fine glitter.

The journal word was painted with black gesso the edged with gold gilding wax.  To complete the cover I used a sticker by Tim Holtz...

For the inside of the binder covers I used the same stencils but changed the colours around...

These are the products that I used:

* Technique Tag Binder
* Long Stencils - Numbers; Rings
* Decoart - Fluid Acrylics; Crackle Paint

Thank you for looking and happy crafting!

24 Inspirational Play Days - Video By Monika Maksym

You can find the video by clicking HERE.

April Colour ATC

I'm continuing with the {Artist Trading Coins} for the colour themes:

I used {White Modelling Paste} through the {Arrows Stencil} and when this was dry gave everything a coat of {White Gesso}.

I've added some text washi tape in places, then added acrylic paints to colour. I added the next layer of colour with Oil Pastels, then added doodling.

I painted an arrow from the {Mini Arrows} pack and gave it a generous coating of {Clear Liquid Glass}.

It's finished off with a stamped word.

Gasolene Alley Tag - Brenda

I love using a colour palette for inspiration and this time I had a new stencil as well as this tag was for one of Di's Hochanda shows.
Thestencil is a new one from Andy Skinner.

So here's how my muse took me.

Process Steps
1. Cover tag with DecoArt decou-page paper - I used text from Victorian Romance. Adhere with matte medium and seal the surface of the paper with it. When dry sand back the edges to get rid of any rough edges.

2. Paint a layer of  gesso, black and white mixed together to create a light grey  over the tag and wipe back to reveal some of the text.

3. Stamp some designs over the thicker gesso areas using watering can archival ink and scrape some white gesso over the tag with a palette knife and add a very small edging with it too using the side of the palette knife.

4.  When dry daub, spritz and dribble some paint through. I used quinacridone violet mixed with titanium white and also cerulean blue mixed with paynes grey and titanium white to get two more colours from the photo palette.

5. Blend some black geso through the stencil on the tag to look like an advert.

6. Use a stabilo pencil and wet brush around the edge of the tag to add a 'frame' it.
7. Stamp and cut out a vintage car and the fuel vendor to add as embellishments.

8. Give it a coat of matte varnish.

There are quite a few new stencils in the range from Andy and they are available in the shop.

Thanks for stopping by.
