Anything Goes Quick Card

I've made a quick and easy card for this week's Anything Goes theme:

I've inked through the {Dotstream} stencil onto a card blank and then simply painted a {Mini Balloon} with acrylic paints.

Once dry it was given a thick coat of {Liquid Glass} which was the most time consuming part of the card.

I've finished by tying the balloon to this cute dog's tail.

Same but Different - Layering Stencils by Nikki K

Morning all,

This week we have shown a few different ways to use the Layering Stencils, I created a folder with mini binder inside for Di's Hochanda shows a month or two ago, and thought I would share it with you now.

I painted the folder white first, then layers of  colour were added, with background stamping and crackle.

The Flourish stencil comes in 3 layers, and the middle bit for a mask if needed as well.  I used modelling paste for each layer, which builds your design in different area's to make it more 3d.

The Leaves Layered stencil works similarly, and I did the little binder with this.  It even has the veins of the leaves standing out more.

I painted the binder in teal, and added Metallic Lustre with my finger to age it.

Love how the mini binder fits in the larger folder pocket, a really handy folder and art case.

Best Wishes,

Nikki K

Tando Creative 24 Play Days- Inspiration by Monika Maksym

Hi!
Welcome to my step by step tutorial on how to create this copper - patina effect  using greyboard tag and embellishments

Start with gluing metal embellishments to the base

Apply Lava Paste (or any other structure paste) through the stencil and over the little heart.

Heat set it.

Paint the entire tag with copper metallic paint. Let it dry

Water down Chalky paint and apply a wash over the tag.

Repeat the step with teal coloured paint.

 Using sponge or brush dab on some Antiquing Cream in Patina Green. Once dry, remove the excess with wet wipe.

Paint textured heart with Paynes Grey paint.

Add a little wash of Paynes Grey over the tag. And splatter it with watered down white paint.

Paint 'Destiny' word plate with copper paint, then with Paynes Grey.
Mount it on the tag.
Then using white paint, dry brush over the word plate and heart to accent all the peaks.

Layering Flourish Stencil - Media Board by Jane

Hello!

Today on the Tando Creative blog I am sharing one of the large media boards that I have decorated using one of the new layering stencils in different ways...

I started by using the second layer of the stencil with texture paste onto the board, then coated it all with white gesso.  To add colour I used brusho powders.  To create a more vintage feel I sponged over some glue then put on gold foil...

For more background interest I used the third layer of the stencil with clear ink and gold embossing powder.

To create a focal element I drew around the first layer of the stencil on metallic card then cut it out.  The second layer was added with black gesso then the third was clear texture paste sprinkled with black glitter...

On the background of the board I added some script stamping using black archival ink before painting some clay pieces that I had previously cast with black gesso then rubbing over gold gilding wax...

Once all the pieces were adhered I then added some sticker sentiments.

Here are the products I used:

* Large Media Board
* Flourish Layering Stencil
* Decoart Mediums
* Brusho Powders

Thank you for looking and happy crafting!

July's Colour Theme with Whimsical Birds by Fiona Randall

This week is colour theme week and I challenged myself once again to come out of my comfort zone and take part. Here is the colour palette for July

.

 I've used Tando's Whimisical Birds 2, a size 9 Tag and some of Tando's Grey Board sheets for my project.

I used DecoArt Americana Acrylic paints to create a masterboard with some stamping to attach to the birds body. The Tag was given a coat of DecoArt Media Tinting base and then the colours added with a brayer. The base board was then painted using a mix of the colours to get the shade I wanted and when dry doodling added with black and white posca paint pens. All other pieces of the bird kit were then painted and assembled onto the tag. I typed out my sentiment strips on my vintage typewriter added to the tag and edged and smudged with a stabilo all pencil. The tag was then attached to the doodled base to finish.

Here's a close up of the detail.

Thanks for stopping by today
