Mixed Media Arch door with Irit

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my new Tando altered door tag.
This week the design team member were asked to make a project with modelling paste and as you can see this door is totally made of modelling paste.

I used the MDF base with some texture stripes added using one of Tando  Stripes stencil and DecoArt texture paste.
Then the base was painted around.
The four  chipboard parts are the insides of the window covered with Gioanna- Doilie Tando stencil and texture made with texture paste.I used the middle part of the stencil only, the one with the small butterfly.
After it was dry the inside pieces were painted with more of DecoArt Media Line acrylics and metal pieces were added to make it a kind of the door.

Fragile Tag

Hi! Dana here today sharing the piece I created for the Tag theme this week. I cut a tag from a piece of Tando packaging and then applied DecoArt Gesso over the surface with a spatula for a textured finish. Once the gesso was dry, I added color to the tag with Gelatos.

Then, I placed the Giovanna Doilie Stencil over the tag and traced around it with a black pen. Next, I stamped a woman into the center of the stenciled design. I colored the stenciled design and the stamped image with watercolors. I further embellished the tag with two painted leaves from the Leaf Branch with 3 Loose Leaves. I stamped a sentiment, added some doodles and tape to the tag, and then attached a tassel to the top to finish.

You can find the chipboard I used for this project, and a wonderful selection of DecoArt products, in the Tando Creative Retail Store. We'd love to see your take on this color palette! Share your work with us in Tando's Creative Zone on Facebook.

Color Challenge - Great Dreams ATC

Happy New Year Tando fans! Dana here today sharing the Artist Trading Card I created for the Color Theme this week. I was inspired by both the beautiful color pallet and photograph of flowers on the inspiration board.

I covered an Artist Trading Card with a piece of dark denim. I then applied whipped spackle over the Giovanna Doilie Stencil to add a layer of texture. I topped the design with a white vellum flower and two small leaves, which I colored with chalk ink, from the Mini Leaves 3 set. I finished this card with a Mini Butterfly and a rub-on sentiment.

You can find the pieces I used for this project and more in the Tando Creative Retail Store! We'd love to see what you create for our Color Challenge! To be in with a chance of winning some great Tando goodies of your choice, please make a piece based on our weekly themes and link your project, not just your blog, using the inlinkz tool located at the top of the Tando Blog. Deer To My Heart ATC

Hi Tando fans! Dana here today sharing a fun ATC that I created with some odds and ends that were laying about my craft space. I started with a blank Artist Trading Card and then covered it with a scrap of denim. I spread whipped spackle over the Giovanna Doily Mask to add both some texture and a beautiful print to the card. I painted a heart from the Grab Bag of Hearts with dimensional glitter paint and then backed it with a piece of lace. The heart was a fun piece to use as a base for embellishments! I painted a number 2 from the Arthur Number Set with yellow acrylic paint for a pop of color. I finished this piece with a resin flower and some letter stickers.

You can find these products and more in the Tando Creative Retail Store. We'd love to have you join our Paint It Challenge! To be in with a chance of winning some great Tando goodies of your choice, please make a piece based on our weekly themes and link your project, not just your blog, using the inlinkz tool located at the top of the Tando Blog. Anything Goes: Mail Art

Hi Tando fans! Dana here today sharing some pretty packaging for the Anything Goes theme this week. I finished up a special project for a friend and was packing up her gift when I was struck by the plainness of the boring brown box. I thought it would be fun to make the outside of the box as colorful as the present inside.

I wrapped the box with brown paper and then brushed on a light coat of gesso. I then spritzed the paper with Dylusions mist. I used the Giovanna Doily, Giovanna Hearts and Giovanna Spiral stencils to trace these gorgeous patterns onto the box.

Once the box was covered with patterns, I colored the designs in with a black Sharpie.
