Casa Bonita Christmas-Fiona Randall

Did you watch Di on Create and Craft TV on the 19th November at 11.00 am. Where she showcased the new Casa Bonita Grey Board Pieces and the complimentary Casa Bonita Drawing Templates.

They are so much fun and there are so many possibilities in their uses.

for my project I decided to go with a Christmas theme.

I created a background on a size 9 Tando tag and then used the grey board pieces from the medium kit to create my house using pieces of scrapbook paper that I had in my stash as well as some glitter for extra sparkle on the roof to create a frosty effect. I made a shelf from a piece of grey board and attached to the tag for my house to sit on and DecoArt Texture snow paste added. I created a christmas tree from the grey board pieces from the kit and also a little pot for it to sit on. A trim was added to the edge of the shelf and tando mini snowflakes added to the tag.
A large tag was cut from a piece of Tando grey board and scrapbook paper added from my stash and the edges inked. The smaller tag was then attached to the large tag using grey board pieces to add depth and dimension.
Tando Holly Pieces were then coloured and added to the base of the tag and a sentiment added on top.
to finish a piece of seam binding was coloured with distress ink spray and attached to the tag with little silver bells added.
A fun festive piece that took minimal supplies to complete. These kits and stencils are so much fun to use and like I said the possibilities are endless and create hours of fun.

Mixed Media Boards - by Zoë Sanderson

Hi, You will have heard this before and doubtless will again.  Tando Grey Board will take just about anything you throw at it.  Which is what happened this time.

I really enjoy experimenting with different mediums finding new ways to use them.  Tando mixed media boards are a great surface to work on.  Playing with Mixed Media offers so many ideas and opportunities it can be a battle sometimes to edit them down into a cohesive piece.  Another reason to use this little Tando Mixed Media boards big enough to work on but small enough to restrict the number techniques used.

Here are three boards that I've recently thrown all sorts of paints, pastes, glue and things at.  First they were all given a base coat of white gesso.

First the Blue Birds.   This board had a range of Distress Inks blended over with the lightest colours in the middle working out to darker shades around the edge.  Then water hand splattered over it.  My favourite world is Laugh and it is on an old stencil, tried to use it here with DecoArt Crackle Paste, but this did not work out so well, tried it again with Cosmic Shimmer Lava Paste.  This paste sucks up the colour but only with the parts not expanded by heating.  A while ago the waste from a die was saved and then used on another project as masks.  Those pieces we then added to this project using mat gel medium as the adhesive.

As birds were to be the common theme with these boards Whimsical Birds provided the pair for this board.   These birds are great fun as you get various bodies different sets of eyes as well as wings and legs.  You get to decide how your birds will look.  Kept things fairly simple this time just painting bases Blue and Yellow then colouring the eyes white and gluing them on.

The next board was an experiment with Brusho's Aquawax.  This interesting fluid will take colour with Brusho pigment allowing you to extend these, it will also act as a resist.  Having given the base a colour wash various marks were made with a brush and the Aquawax.  More paint added then baby wiped over, makes for an interesting mottled background.  When dry a Tando Stencil Mish Mash laid over the board and an embossing fixative pushed through, the EP is an old stone effect one from my stash.  More of the die waste dropped on randomly.

The birds this time are from the Tando Mini's Owls 2.  The owls come in parts that you colour and build up.  Once again my Acrylic paints were put to work topped off with gilding wax.

For the third, and final for now, board the Aquawax was put to use again.  This time the fluid was tinted with Brusho pigment and then brushed over the entire surface. While it was still wet more Brusho sprinkled over it although a squirt of water was needed to activate the powder.

The stencil this time was Dotstream and a different crackle/embossing paste.  This paste also sucked up the colour and left to dry.  A section of the board swiped with a pallet knife and some DecoArt Crackle Paste.  I wanted to see how the two crackle pastes would interact the glossy paste filled the area between the stencilled dots but that was all.  When everything was dry the previously painted Tando Mini's Owls were added.

These were great fun to do and and are fabulous little sample boards that I can refer back to in the future.

Anything Goes Week- Tando New Product Launch as seen on Hochanda.

Morning all Fiona here today to showcase

Tando's new product Launch as seen on Hochanda on Monday 15th March 2021.

I had so much fun creating the samples for this launch. This is a picture heavy post as I have so much to show so bear with .

First up is the new 6x6 Ring Binder with Inner pockets and inserts plus the new build a scene spines.

I decorated the binder covers with Distress Ink Sprays and stencils with a faux bleaching effect with some stamping for added interest.

The build a scene spines are fab layered up in four layers to perfectly fit the spine of the binder. More stamping and painting to decorate the spine to tie in with the covers.

It has dividers to decorate for the inside too which were completed to match the outside covers.

Allso on the inside cover there is a deep pocket to construct for holding Tags, Envelopes and Ephermera etc.

Next up is the 6x6 template covers and spine pack. Plus an added bulild a scene spine used on this one too.

This binder was decorated in a rusty patina effect using Lindy's Moon shadow Sprays, some scrapbooking paper a Tando MDF large gear and a mitform castings porthole. The fish element is also from the new release Minis Tags Fish.

A build a scene spine in fish was also used on the spine to finish.

Next up are the new release Wall Hangings. These are great and are assembled in four layers like the spine scenes to give a totally 3d effect.

I opted for the fish again for the wall hanging and decorated with the same rusty patina effect as the binder. The wall hangings and the spine scenes come in four options,
Fish, Caligraphy, pet and potions. You can have so much fun with the new releases so do hop on over to the Tando Store and check them out.
do check back the rest of this week to see what the other creative team members
have created using the Tando new releases.

Thanks for stopping by today
stay safe
Fiona.

Crackle Media Board- Fiona Randall

Morning Fiona Here and it my turn on the blog for this weeks theme which is Crackle.

I decided to create a media board using Tando Grey Board Sheets which I cut to size.
I then applied a piece of Inky Cardstock to the grey boar base. Next up DecoArt Crackle Paste was applied with a pallete Knife and then set aside to dry for the lovely cracks to appear.
I applied a rusty treatment to some plaster wings using DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics. The same treatment was applied to the Tando Minis range bookplate and a quote added. A Tiny Heart from The Tando Grab Bag of Hearts was given a coat of DecoArt Chalky finish in Rouge and attached to the wings. Washes of DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics were the applied over the crackle until the desired effect was achieved. The wings and bookplate were then attached to the base to finish.

Here's a close up.
