Love and hearts week with Irit

Hello my dear crafty friends!
Welcome to my new Tando post and this week we were challenged to make projects with hearts and love things.
So without any  additional thought I grabbed my most loved Heart shaped printer's  Tando tray and made this project that is full of hearts and love and was just a perfect gift  for Valentine.
As you can see I used tons of Tando goodies and you can see the full list at the end of this post.
Anyway all shapes were painted and them glittered or heat embossed with Stampendous glitter or embossing powders.
The background cardstock is from DCVW, but this is the only products that you can't find in TANDO shop.
Here you can see the hearts painted inside and painted around with DecoArt Copper paint and then glittered over.
The key hole heart and the key are covered with Stampendous embossing powder.

The sentiment was heat embossed with copper powder and the frame was covered with Crackle glaze over the dark red DecoArt paint.

Floss-Wrapped Heart ATC

Hi! Dana here today sharing the artist trading card I created for the Love and Hearts theme this week. I covered an ATC with a piece of patterned tissue paper and then added a small amount of DecoArt White Gesso with a spatula. Once dry, I added a couple drops of blue mist, a doodled border in red marker, some yellow string, a patterned paper sentiment, and a smudge of clear crackle medium.

I topped this piece with a heart that I wrapped in bright red floss.

You can find the chipboard I used for this project, and a wonderful selection of DecoArt products, in the Tando Creative Retail Store. We'd love to see your creativity! Share your work with us in Tando's Creative Zone on Facebook.

Technique Week - Adding Fabric with Lisa.

Hi folks, Lisa here and welcome to my Tando post for this week. It's Technique Week and the theme is adding fabric. I used Tandos Kate Crane 7 piece planner kit for this project.

This is a fabulous kit, it comes with a front and back cover and 5 inserts. (There is also a smaller kit available with less inserts and you can also purchase just the inserts to add extra ones if you wish. All three sets are available on the Tando website.)

I only used the front and back covers of the planner for this particular challenge.

Here is what I did...

Front Journal Cover

Back Journal Cover

First I gave the front and back covers a quick coat of DecoArt white gesso. I then started adding fabric. I gathered a whole range of different ribbons, lace, hessian and began layering them on the front and back of the journal covers.

I added DecoArt Texture Sand Paste, DecoArt Crackle Paint and used DecoArt White Modelling Paste with Andy Skinner's 8 x 8 Creativity Stencil.

When everything was dry I started to add some colour using DecoArt Media Artist Fluid Acrylics. I used Quinacridone Gold, Paynes Grey, Burnt Umber and Colbalt Teal Hue. I added the colours in layers, drying between each stage.

I continued to add the paint until I was happy with the coverage.

To finish, I highlighted the stencilled word and some other areas white white gesso. Then painted the back of each cover and the edges with black gesso.

Here is the finished journal covers with the inserts which haven't yet been decorated.

Everything I have used for this project is below and they are available on the Tando Website.

Thanks for popping by the Tando Blog today. If you would like to pop over to my blog, the link is here.
Toodles for now,

Door Hanger : Fabric week

Hello my dear Tando friends and welcome to my new  post made for Tando Fabric week.
I almost never use fabric on my creations and this  " use fabric" thing was a bit challenging for me.
But finally I found a couple of canvas piece that were die cut and then stencilled with Tando stencil and painted and used as my door hanger background.
So first I painted this Tando door hanger with DecoArt Media line acrylic paint. Then I added a thick layer of  DecoArt Clear crackle glaze  and added a layer of gold paint when it was dry.
The fabric flags were glued over the door hanger.
Next I painted the bird cage, the birds, the rose flower and the background.
Some of those piece were also covered with crackle and then painted with  gold paint over the cracks.
I think that this a  lovely door hanger to say " Good Morning"  to someone that you love!

Add Fabric - Canvas-Covered ATC

Hi friends! Dana here today sharing a canvas-covered artist trading card for the Add Fabric theme this week. I love the ethereal quality of the backgrounds that can be created with canvas and Gelatos. I applied pink, purple, and yellow Gelatos to a craft mat, spritzed with water, and then pressed an ATC-sized piece of sticky-back canvas into the pool of color. I dried the canvas with a heat tool and then stuck it onto an Artist Trading Card. I sprinkled a layer of Stampendous Spoonful of Silver over the card and then glued on a piece of Round Grid waste that I colored with the same Gelatos for a fun textured layer. I finished this card with some yellow thread and a piece of flair.

You can find the chipboard I used for this project, and a wonderful selection of Stampendous products, in the Tando Creative Retail Store. We'd love to see your creativity! Share your work with us in Tando's Creative Zone on Facebook.
