Hochanda Mondays- Fiona Randall

Morning all it's my turn to showcase a piece that I created that has been seen on Hochanda using Tando Products.

Today I'm Showcasing Birgit Koopsen's Fabulous Portable Art Case which will be showcasing again on Hochanda  With Di and Tando Creative this coming coming Friday September 13th.

I ran this as a workshop in April earlier this year and it was very popular. Everyone absolutely loved their Art Case.

Here is a side view of the Art Case open to store your paper and pens when travelling. It comprises of 2 inner compartments to take A6 paper sheets and pens/pencils.
Fold over the front cover to reveal a clipboard clip on the inside
A great project to make and so useful for keeping supplies all in one place and compact for your travels.
Don't forget to catch Di on Hochanda on Friday September 13th to see this on the show as well as other variations created the Tando Design Team.

I hope you have enjoyed this re visit. Thanks for stopping by
Fiona.

Free for all week: Tropical house

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my last February Tando post.
This chipboard Tando house was in my stash for ages. I never tried to do anything with it as I don't have a space to show it.
But when my lovely 3 years old grand daughter asked if I can make her a house, this was like " yes, dear, I will do one for you".
So  I made her a tropical house as we live in  pretty much tropical weather, using Scrapberry's Tropical paper collection.
Each single piece was painted. I used Bamboo background mask to make the bamboo images over the front of this tropical house.
The roof was paper covered and I added the paper fence and some Tando chipboard flowers.
The three years old is very glad with the house.
I am very glad that I finally used my Tando older stash for this Anything goes week.

Adding Fabric Week

I love adding fabric to this chipboard and have done it a few times.  It adds a completely different dimension.  Today I have covered a *heart* and added it to a *media board*.

I beaded the fabric before I glued it onto the heart, tucking the raw edges around to the back.  For the media board I gesso'd and then laid some *crackle paste* through the *heart* mask.  When it was dry I gently sponged on some *DecoArt Yellow Green Light* followed by *Primary Magenta* until I felt the balance was right.  A little light stamping and a torn strip of fabric finishes it off.

For more idea on using fabric with our products take a look in our Gallery *here*.

Thank you for looking today and do call again.  Hugs, Karen x

Box

Hi, its Karen here with another make using the pretty November Colour Theme.  For this I have decorated the *Tic Tac Toe Box* (without the noughts & crosses etc).

After I glued all the pieces together and added some gesso I spread some *white modelling paste* through Gio's pretty *Eighties* mask/stencil.  When this was dry I went over the whole top of the box with the lighter blue in the colour them, then , putting the mask back over, I added the two terracotta colours and the dark brown. (I added the dark brown after this pic was taken)

I added *Crackle Glaze* over the two colours above and around the edge of the box.  When that was dry I added *Red Oxide Antiquing Cream*, rubbing it back when it was dry.  I added *Liquid Glass* to the dark brown areas.

The sides of the lid were painted in dark brown and the base was painted in the blue.  I lined the bottom of the base with brown felt and the inside of the lid with patterned paper.  Then I went round all the edges with a copper pen.

Inside the lid...

Thank you for joining us today, do come and visit us again soon! Take care x

Texture paste week

Hello, its Karen playing with *Texture Paste* today :p.  I have decorated an address book....

I used  *Gio's masks (Eighties)* to spread the paste through in the centre of the book cover.  Then I painted over all of the cover with *Quinacridone Magenta*.  When that was dry I added some *Quinacridone Gold* over some of the stencilled parts and also dabbed some *Dioxazine Purple* here and there to add more depth.  When dry I added *Crackle Glaze* around the outside of the mask and on the circles and 'square' shapes.  *Antiquing cream in white* was added into the crackles.  *Liquid Glass* was added to other areas.

Thank you for taking a look today!  If you fancy paying along then take a look at the tab at the top of the page!  Hugs, Karen xxx

Colour theme by Dee

Happy New Year to all of you hope you had a good one!
I have a mixed media board for you today that
I used Deco art modelling paste through
Neil Walkers mask.
This was coloured with Titan buff mixed with various
amounts of Raw umber.
I then mixed it with a touch of green and turquoise till
it resembled the colour choices.
Next I used sticky embossing powder and rubbed gold foil
over it once heat set.
I used bronze and turquoise mica powders that i then
spritzed with water.
I triple embossed gold embossing powder onto card
and used a Seth Apter stamp.
Here's a close up!
That's it if you haven't tried these boards they are amazing
 for mixed media.
I absolutely love them they are perfect size for
all your projects.
Cheers Dee! x

Black Halloween by Dee

Hi everyone I hope you are well and those of you that are lucky enough to
be going to the ministry of mixology are getting really excited.
I know that I am.
I have my third Halloween piece for you this month I
really quite like this young man.

I started off colouring my Tando Media board with delusion spray's
(These media boards are fast taking over from Tags and beer mats)
they are much better versatile and very sturdy.
On a piece of kraft paper I stamped my skull and word's
I then coloured with distress inks and white pen.
Next I assembled everything together finished the edges with crackle
paste and highlighted with copper and Ta Dah!!
he was finished

I hope you have enjoyed this post as much as I did making it.
I think secretly I must have been a witch in a past life.
Don't forget it would be great to let me know what you think,
about the art bit not the witch one!
Cheers Dee. x

Book Covers with Dee

Hi everyone I hope you are well and getting time to be crafty.
Our topic for the week is book covers.
I started with painting the main part with Deco media paints.
I used blue colour washes over the first layer which had been
lightly stamped with Andy Skinners industrial stamps.
I used a compass stamp from my stash to place in the
circular hole.
This was glued on to a Tando circle prior to being glued into place.
I tried to capture the old gold gleam that comes off the aged metal
the photo's don't quite capture it.
I used a metal compass that I had in my stash to go in the area
underneath the main focal point.
I had put crackle paste around the edges and painted them
I highlighted these with treasure gold. I did do the back
but will show you that in a different post one thing I
learnt is if you are doing a book always paint
the base on both front and back at the
same time.As they are slightly different
colours.
